  1. I agree CFO is cash grab, and re acquiring citizenship still requires a airplane flight for most to go to the PI embassy to get it done, My wife had to take a flight from Dallas to Houston It does offer unlimited stay in PHilippines on your PI passport and not having to pay visa extension every 30 days, You get to vote, and you can work in the PHlippines, but this is a country where a lawyer is lucky to make $20K USD and a Registered Nurse makes about $10 per day. I just don't see working in Philippines as feasible. I have seen people who have a sari sari store claim they make $300 per month, but I am sure they worked 80 hours per week.
  2. A few year ago the Philippines Government started allowing people like you to re acquire you citizenship, I highly recommend you do this. You will get screwed in the Philippines if you are a US Citizen and you want to stay past 30 days, dealing with BI and payments. Just recently Philippine was only allowing PI citizens to enter the Philippines for a couple of years.
  3. Covid hasn't been going on for 7 years, I have personally been in and out Japan dozen of times prior to 2020.
  4. Exactly, That is what I remembered around that time they did something that basically made the K3 obsolete.
  5. K3 were fairly common on VJ, When I filed my K1 back in 2007/2008 almost all the married couples on VJ were doing the K-3 for Philippines.
  6. This might help. Most hospitals and doctors will charge much less than what insurance pays if you are self pay, which means you don't have insurance or you pay cash. The medical industry in the USA is based on insurance, Say for example a office visit is 175 and if you pay insurance it's only $60, if you are self pay it may be $50. Plus if you have any services done or you are hosptilazed you can always negotiate your bill, pretty common practice.
  7. I pay 1300 for insurance for me and my wife, thru Open Market I have Ambetter. Me and my wife have no medical issues, not on any drugs and my ortho told me Ambetter is the same level as Medicare as far as paying for services So paying more doesn't always insure better coverage via open market. I miss the days when you could choose your insurance and didn't hav to pay an arm and leg for insurance.
  8. Do you qualify, or can you apply for expidete or emergency tourist visa interview? The wait is only day or week for those interviews You have a 20 month wait, I was thinking it was only like 13 months, Geez that's a long long long long wait.
  9. This poor couple just left for Thailand, and his fiance/GF appears to be pretty old at least 35 years old, and they had to jump thru hoops with pictures of them together over the year, her job and income, lease agreements in their names. What a nightmare this couple had to go thru just for a trip to Thailand Filipina's Offloaded Leaving the Philippines/Baby Mae's Immigration Ordeal - YouTube
  10. Very possible and very easy at the US Embassy in Manila They are very accomodating to US Citizens, They claim no cell phones or electronics are allowed, But if you are an American you can magically bring them in and the gaurd will hold them for you and give them back when you are done. I have even went there and got my absentee voting ballot during a major holiday even though that was a different section
  11. Too bad for you I walked right on in, never had to show a ID or anything, but then again I stood out like a sore thumb being an American and tall with a long nose and white complexion, when we were doing the K1 visa interview.
  12. Thats a bad deal. Too bad they broke up and he went back home, I guess he could of rode it out in the USA with a GC. Interesting thread.
  13. That's funny, Would of been funnier if someone would of thrown an rotten egg at him ,he looks goofy getting out of the car and looking around. I had no clue there was a judgement against him in the USA, I do remember well back when his parents fled to USA back in the 80's.
  14. Does USCIS not give you a case number where you can track your case? It's been a while since I did my K1
  15. Is there not a way to track your case? Does it not show up in there?
  16. I had no clue some place in North America was still so far behind and acting like a 3rd world or a communist country. What kind of idiot is running this country?
  17. What Embassy? Did fiance get a letter saying the K1 visa was being withdrawn? In my experience the petitioner receives a letter Don't they have a way to track your visa applictions?
  18. Will they not let US Citizens enter the visa side? Do they have a window or room where the interview takes place? US Embassy in Manila I could walk in with a tourist visa applicant, and maybe influence.
  19. Seems as if there is a 353 million dollar lawsuit judgement against Marcos from the state of Hawaii, but now since he is President he has Diplomatic Immunity and will not be arrested. Seems like he shouldn't step foot inside USA until he pays his dues Philippines' Marcos Jr. Can Visit U.S Without Arrest Over $353M Court Order (newsweek.com)
  20. File spousal visa and get a greencard for your wife and US passport for the baby and visit your mother. After visit, take greencard to US Embassy in Manila and turn it in. Then apply for a tourist visa, this is about the only way I have seen someone who is married to pinay to get them a tourist visa. Hopefully in couple years US Embassy Manila will be back to processing routine tourist visa, last I heard it was taking like over a year to get a schedule date for a tourist interview at the US EMbassy
  21. I wonder why these forgeiner fathers are so blind sided and don't require a DNA test? My buddy used to live in Cebu around 2010 and he had a girl tried to claim he was the father, he had a vacestomy many years before, but he was also wise to how things works in the Philippines as he had lived there for many years.
  22. Actually it does I remember when I applied for my K1 from Philippine back in 2015, most were getting approved in less than 45 days, mine was approved in 30 days and my buddy who was using I believe California Service Center got his NOA2 in 7 days he had file and his fiance was from Philippines as well. Many others were waiting many months for thier NOA2 from other countries for their K1 petition, in the past historically Philippine has moved very fast getting NOA2 on K1's.
