  1. I am from Texas Is the issue is he didn't file for 2 years after seperating?
  2. Would it be easier to get divorced if married inside Texas? I had no clue it was that difficult to get married if married abroad and other person lived outside of Texas, very crazy.
  3. I have seen hundred of people file for K1 visa after only meeting one time and some for only a week trip, they were all approved from the Philippines. USCIS follows there own guidelines, they are quit simple for K1 here is the form you file with instruction, very simple and basic. Petition for Alien Fiancé(e) | USCIS
  4. Pandemic shut or closed caused the backlog When I did my K1 it was approved in 30 days and she was in my country in less than 4 months from Philippines. Now of days there is a backlog on all Fiance and Spousal visas, You are right a few years ago the K1 was the way to go. I could of waited 4 months or waited over a year on a spousal visa. What I don't like about doing a Spousal Visa now of days is the long wait time, you marry said person after only meeting them in person after a few days and next year you get divorce due to the log wait time, then you could have your assets being split.
  5. Many could and would argue that spousal visa isn't "far superior", that is an opinion.
  6. Has any US Citizen ever been required to pay child support for a kid or kids they have had in Philippines and left in the Philippines? I remember Dennis Rodmans father had like 29 kids from 16 different woman in the Philippines, He should of been on Maury TV show who's the father.
  7. Yep it seems to be country specific, pretty standard for a 3rd world country like Philippines to have low limit due to lots of fraud and corruption in the country.
  8. Wise would only let me tranfer less than $9,000 from USA to Philippines, Not a fan.
  9. ICE never got involved, that was the whole reason to check in early and get out quick so ICE couldn't get him and deport him or lock him up for a year while he waited for trail. Ankle monitor if from the county jail as part of release.
  10. I agree on the exhcange rate for sure, but I was using dollar to dollars account sending and receiving from Philippines which I have a US Dollar bank Account over there not a Peso. Many US banks also charge for incoming international wire fees, some are cheaper if you do it online. Even BOA and Chase charges but if you have a certain account, they will waive it.
  11. If your US bank is charging you a fee for international wire then you need to get a new bank, I use BOA and Chase and fees are waived for incoming wires.
  12. Update: He turned himself in Thursday morning around 6 am and was booked and jailed, Bail set at 25K, since they didn't want to use a bailbond company and wait for a delay to get him released, they put up 25K to get him relaeased asap. Supposed to be released early Friday morning after getting ankle monitor, he was finally released around 4 pm on Friday and beat ICE. So now he's a free man until the set the court date which could be month or years away.
  13. My local USCIS offered walk in to get the stamp, you had to wait for the people with appointments to go first and if there was time you could get the stamp. Glad you got an appt.
  14. I have known two girls from Philippines their fiance died both of cardiac arrest, and both were denied tourist visa for the funeral.
  15. Those decision are nowhere close to the number of poeple who have crossed looking for asylum. Must be missing data or incomplete.
  16. What about all the ones in Texas? California? They don't get to be part that could apply? Since this is state specific I don't see this ever happening.
  17. Texas Governor just dropped off a bus load of immigrants in front of VP Kamala Harris house this morning https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oazPbflLyWU
  18. The shame part was she had to start directly to school when she arrived, instead of the spending time together and bonding and hanging out. My fiance came from the same area, the time change and culture shock would be hard to over come in the first week or even first few weeks. Never said college was a bad choice, please stop reading stuff into my posts.
  19. My wife first week she was trying to get used to the time change being 14 hour difference, and probably her 2nd week. Thankfully my wife wasn't in any hurry to work, I really enjoyed the first 6 months, I didn't work much and we just enjoyed hanging out and exploring. Good times..
  20. That's a shame, the first 6 months is some of the best times. You both get to explore the USA and settle into your life, too bad having to go straight to school.
