Wow, less then a year, that is quick, especially for the Houston office.
    Congrats on your upcoming ceremony

We are all ready to file, just waiting till about mid April to send.
His 10 year green card was approved July 1

Will be so glad when we are all finished with USCIS.

    Thank you

You are welcome. I was going to wait to do the N-400 until after I had completed the I-751 but come July, our lawyer said that submitting this would speed that up. Seemed to work. Got my permanent GC end of October. The officer was very nice and asked her supervisor if she could do my N-400 too but they didn't have the file. Surprised to get this interview so quickly after how long that took! Seems like the Houston office is moving quicker now covid has quietened down a bit here. Hopefully you'll get your interview soon😀

I'm Houston, near the bottom and it took me nearly 3 years to get approved so probably still fairly accurate lol

I was approved on the spot. Very nice officer. Was asked how we met, date and where we got married, why did we choose to get married in another country. Asked each others DOB's. My husband was asked about his driving license- he renewed it late because they wouldn't accept his birth certificate so he had to get an embossed copy. Did we always live at the address we do now. She asked me my phone number. At the end gave me and my lawyer a copy of the approval notice and said the new green card would come 2-4 weeks from now. Couldn't do my naturalisation because they didn't have the paperwork. Oh and she asked where Cyprus was- we got married there!

Houstonapp reacted to Cathi in Is TONS of evidence really necessary for I-751?
Quality over quantity. My husband and I had several so called "red flags" and I never sent huge amounts of evidence at any stage of our journey and we never had a single RFE at any point-up to and including naturalization. There is no need to send every page of every statement from all of your joint accts, insurance, mortgages, ect..just send a sampling of them that span the entirety of the time that your spouse has been in the U.S. There is no need to send anything from before he/she arrived, you've already sent that all in at the petition, NVC and visa stages.

(Our "red flags:" I'm 21 years older, divorced with 2 children. We are different religions, we married on my first visit to meet him and I'm sure there were more but I just can't think of them at the moment)He's been a citizen for several years now and this year is our 10th wedding anniversary. And yes, we're very happy.

    Good luck!!

Probably am. Never have been the type for not overthinking this stuff, and it's certainly proving true so far, to at least my spouse's chagrin. I think I have a plan now. Thanks!

There is a chance you could have a combo interview (i751 interview and a n400 interview) for both applications for the same appointment; If so, be prepared to answer the civics questions and bring your spouse's original birth certificate or citizenship certificate, your passport (current and old), info about out of US travel dates, any other documents needed for the n400 interview.

I'm sure either way you will do great at the interview or interviews, good luck.

I filed my I-751 mid December, 2018 and have my interview on the 20th of this month. I wouldn't worry too much! Plus, like the others have said filing the N-400 in July seems to have sped mine up. No updates since the Biometrics up to then.

It is taking a long time for your case but you are far from alone, local field offices have been really backed up so that is why it took some time to get an appointment for the interview.

If you got your original green card on a CR1 visa (got a green card at your home country) then it is perfectly normal to be interviewed for your ROC case. I751 applicants and spouses that did an adjustment of status in the US to get a green card rarely get a ROC interview as they were interviewed together by USCIS for the AOS already.

You need to go to the interview with your spouse if you have a joint i751 application pending. You should consider bringing some updated evidence of your bonafide evidence (updated joint tax returns transcripts of most recent year(s)) , updated bank statements, updated lease, children birth records, driver licenses for each.
