Yup. It's all at the start of this post back on page 1 when I first posted here worrying about it.

Hello! The text I received also says I-797C. But the Form I-797 I received this morning has no C on it but highlighted on the first sentence that my GC is extended for 24 months. Yours is probably on it’s way. Sucks that you can’t signup for informed delivery. But it’s good news that you received the biometrics notice like you said it means they have the right address. Good luck!

Hello! Idk if this is gonna be really helpful but if you sent it through USPS and don’t have a USPS mobile app, maybe try signing up so you can monitor it via informed delivery? I’ve been anxious like you waiting for the I-797 because I’m set to travel at the end of the month but mine was delivered on 1/5 at Carol Stream, IL. Received the email and text notif that they received my case with the case number on 1/9. But like @Misscloud said it will take 1-2 weeks and sometimes a month before it arrives (I tried inquiring for it yesterday via the USCIS website but it says wait for 30 days lol).

I’ve been checking informed delivery everyday since I got the case number (I know I know 🤣). An hour ago I checked it again and there it is. It says it’s arriving tomorrow.

Hopefully you receive yours soon! Good luck!

If I recall, for I-9 List C and List  B documents, if you have an unrestricted SSN and a valid ID, like Driver's LIcence, State ID, that meets the I-9 requirements. I made sure to get a State ID a few months ago in preparation for this.

I think we should be good. I looked at how we paid last time for AOS and it was with my husband's credit card, so I know for sure his will work fine. So I think we will refill the form using his details for payment and it should be good.

Thanks for confirming. I'll just send transcripts for all the years for consistency.

That's an idea - sending different photos. I didn't actually send any photos with the AOS. Just documents. And they didn't even want to see them in the interview! But I'll add some anyways. I suppose repeated documents (like leases) would not hurt. Thanks for sharing

To cover the bases, we included some evidence from the date of marriage but tried to limit repeated information. As an example, we sent around 10 photos that went back to when we married, but we used completely different photos than what was sent with AOS. We did repeat some things though, such as sending all of our lease agreements for our apartment (2019, 2020, and 2021) even though the 2019 lease was provided when we did AOS.

I don’t know what the law is when you have an expired gc.

We carried my wife’s gc and extension letter when we were near the border due to internal border patrol check points near our home.

Otherwise the letter stayed locked up in a safe and we had digital copies on our phones.

Our 2 references were from people who knew us both from before we married.

The rest of the evidence was after  the date of our I-485 interview.

Affidavits are not required, but it doesn't hurt to include them. Other evidence is more important, and you already seem to have it. If you have joint bank accounts, include statements from those.

    Then that’s your answer.
    You are not relocating permanently.
If it’s something that you want to do, do not stop just because of USCIS.
They are not going to ask you what’s the purpose of your visit. And even if they did, you should say it’s a short- term internship.
No, you’re not going to get deported .
In fact, if you do change the address and change it back, their system is so finicky that you might end up receiving important notices in your temporary address after you leave. So don’t.

No, I won't be changing my address for banks and stuff because my husband is there to receive my mail and I will be back shortly.

    Temporary means not permanent.
Like if you are moving out of one permanent address and temporarily have to move in a place between finding your next permanent address.

My issue is that my permanent address isn't changing.

Ani_B reacted to Crazy Cat in Do I just fill I-751 for removal of conditions? How about my expired green card?
You MUST file an I-751 package for a conditional green card.  Upon receipt, USCIS will issue you an extension letter which will extended the expiration date on the card for 24 months. It will specifically state that.   You should carry the expired green card and the extension letter.

You pay for YOUR biometrics......ONLY... $680.    It would be very unusual if the US citizen spouse was called in for bio.

No, it's 595 +1 biometrics for you. Total of $680. The instructions say "resident dependent". Your husband is a USC, so he doesn't need to do biometrics.

In rare cases, uscis may ask the USC to appear for biometrics in which case they'll send the USC a biometrics appointment letter later on while also asking for its payment. Those statements are for such conditions.

Because it's a joint petition, and they are party to that joint petition, so must sign.

They would not be required to sign it if it was a waiver (solo) petition, on the basis of divorce etc.
