What Is the Filing Fee and biometrics for U.S citizen spouse?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me. I'm getting ready to fill in the form soon to remove conditions. I came over on a K2 visa and got married end of 2019. My husband is a U.S citizen, so I am wondering if he will need to do biometrics too? The form seems to suggest, in Part 8, that he will have to go for a biometrics appointment too. It's just that during AOS it was only me who had a biometrics appointment. For ROC, do both typically have to go?

So when I am writing out the check to send, should it be $595, plus $85 for me, and another $85 for him?

I am just a bit confused because in the instructions form, it also says the following about additional biometrics fees, but it seems to just be about dependents.

Can anyone advise me how much I should write the check for, and also if their U.S citizen spouses had to have biometrics done for ROC?

You pay for YOUR biometrics......ONLY... $680.    It would be very unusual if the US citizen spouse was called in for bio.

No, it's 595 +1 biometrics for you. Total of $680. The instructions say "resident dependent". Your husband is a USC, so he doesn't need to do biometrics.

Thank you for all the feedback. I was also wondering, while looking at the initial evidence to send, if we will need to send scanned copies of his passport to prove his citizenship or anything like that?

It looks like it just wants a copy of my conditional permanent resident card, and then just evidence of our relationship during the marriage, like leases, bank accounts, insurance etc. It doesn't mention any copies of ID for him.

Am I understanding that correctly?

They just want MY ID and the rest as is just copies of evidence of our ongoing marriage?

No, you're way past that stage. You did it for AOS. This filing is about you and the bona fide of your relationship.

Thanks for all the advice everyone. I always get flustered with forms, even after filling in so many. It really helps to get advice from people who have been through it all.

I think I got confused by the below because it looks like my spouse would be signing to say he knows he has to go for biometrics (I'm assuming this is the ASC appointment?) when he doesn't have to.

But I am guessing he has to sign this box anyways, but then when they check his details and see he's a citizen, they will know he doesn't have to go.

I just wondered why he still had to sign that part.

Because it's a joint petition, and they are party to that joint petition, so must sign. 

 

They would not be required to sign it if it was a waiver (solo) petition, on the basis of divorce etc.

In rare cases, uscis may ask the USC to appear for biometrics in which case they'll send the USC a biometrics appointment letter later on while also asking for its payment. Those statements are for such conditions.
