You would be smart to get your wifes citizenship befor you move. Will save you many problems in the future. Meanwhile you can spend your time planning , building or whatever so your move is easy. Been there done that. We are in the process of building in her hometown at this point. then we will start being snow birds (6 months here and 6 months there and then decide if we will do full time and sell everything here. Takes a lot of consideration.

Don’t look at a masters for only shortening your visa processing time - it may also be the way to get an employer be prepared to sponsor you.

I wouldn’t have been sponsored by my company without a masters. When a company can hire an American quickly, easily and cheaply, why would they spent lots of money and go through the time and hassle to hire you? You need to do whatever you can to make yourself stand out and make it worth their while to sponsor you.

To be brutally honest, with just a bachelors degree and a few years experience it may not happen, look at it as a long term plan and a masters plus specialist experience might make that plan more viable.

    Good luck to you.

My wife was a 24 year overstay, she had her greencard approved 4 hours after interview. (new card being produced) I dont think your overstay is related to the delay. I think it has more to do with background checks and such do to your line of work. Due to your age  and Irish citizenship you were around in the days of the IRA and a lot of other firearms related gunrunning  and such. ( we had a Boston Irish gang running Guns back in late 80s and early 90s) Maybe that is the extra checks. With the expedite was not time to run them. Its a lot harder to take the green card away after its issued .Another reason is that your in a busy office..... I'm sure that has a lot to do with it. You will also find USCIS marches to the beat of their own drum and its hard to gage your case with others in your same shoes. Each case might appear to be similar but are so different once all the issues are broken down. Good luck and be patient.

Take what you can get, your the only one that sees it after you use it to get everything updated. My wife's is now in the safety deposit box at the bank. Used it to get her SS status updated, her drivers license updated, and of course for the passport. Now it sits in a box until the end of time, will probably never look at it again. They might have the printer there if you do it at the USCIS office, but I'm pretty sure they are printed in advance from what I saw, and put in the order of appearance when you check in. To be done with USCIS, I would take whatever they gave me and run. That's what I did, rolling out of that lot like I just completed a 20 year prison sentence. And I wasn't the one who naturalized, but I was so happy to be done.

You over shared and did not have to.

That you are renewing a GC is your business.

Do you have state ID or state DL and do you have an unrestricted GC?

Bob in Boston reacted to Loren Y in N-400 interview in TWO days. Last wise words?
If you know the questions, it's easy according to my wife. Passed in March of this year. IO started with the questions, and she said she was " In the Zone". We had studied the questions so much she was cranking out answers faster than he could begin the questions. Before she knew it he said " Congratulations" . She was like congratulations what?, he said you passed the test. She didn't even know she hit the first six right off. Only thing she had a little problem with was on the tablet she had to write out the word "senator" as part of a answer, and she had a little issue with the spelling, but IO was cool about it, and just laughed and said, no worries, your good. She said they spent most of the time talking about her son, and how he is here now, and how does she like it in Las Vegas. I hope you get a good IO like she did. She was nervous also, but said it was not as bad as she thought it would be. And like @Crazy Cat has said, being done with USCIS is worth every minute of the interview. I think I was happier she passed then she was knowing no more forms and waiting. She now has her " Coveted" Blue book, and we actually got her Naturalization certificate back in a reasonable time.

Bob in Boston reacted to powerpuff in Why is Premium Processing not available for family based immigrant visas?
I feel like because the vast majority of family based applicants would apply for premium processing making it… not premium processing any longer. I do not think it’s a viable option for family based petitions for that reason.

With this I have to agree. Just a feel good Policy to make people think we are safer because of it. No wonder its a decade behind schedule for flying with it only, its worthless.

The REAL ID act gives states more flexibility to meet the REAL ID requirements. Ironically, Texas appears to be state that makes the most of that flexibility, and Washington state, without question, makes the least use of the flexibility: nobody, and I mean nobody, gets REAL ID.

Thats why I included my state as I went through all this stuff in the past 6 years. Interesting that a federally recognized ID does not have the same requirements nationwide. Guess we file this under "if it makes sense dont do it" practice of the US Government.

    What country is this?

Marrying on the 1st visit is one of the red flag issues BUT that alone is not the only issue
Your wife will not know immediately about the NOIR or NOID
she will hear in about 6 months ALL the issues the CO thinks are pertinent
She will be given a timeline to submit her answers /can be 30 days,  30 business days or something else

Money transfers are never good evidence and at  this point , unless they aske for them chats and all the other stuff u mention is not important

    what is important
    commingling finances
    time spent together
    real relationship by being faithful
    -
and answering the issues bought up by CO with actual proof its wrong will be the key
can not just say relationship is REAL /it has to be proved to the satisfaction of immigration
even a lawyer can't change the issues
having a child with another man shows she is not faithful to you and u allowing it-that's a  whole new can of worms

This is proof positive you have to send everything you have as evidence. The amount of people on here that seem to claim you only should send a couple months of each type of evidence - bank, utilities etc…is just plain wrong and leading people into trouble.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it til I’m blue in the face…drown them in evidence! It’s not our job to decide what they want to see. This is what they are paid to do. Send them every single thing you got.

Hope this person can send more in and get this situation resolved.
