Ncornejo7 got a reaction from Lemonslice in Birth certificate rejected
did you take a look at the specific document guidelines for Nicaragua?
https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Nicaragua.html
Birth Certificates
Available. Birth certificates must be obtained from the Central Registry in Managua. In cases where a birth was never registered, a Civil Judge may, after a lawyer has executed the proper documents and testimony taken from witnesses, issue a birth certificate which is inscribed in the Civil Registry. If an applicant was registered more than one year after the date of birth, an "onlyness" certificate of birth (certificado unico o constancia unica de nacimiento) will be required. If there has been a rectification or recognition registered, the applicant will also need to provide a literal birth certificate, which lists all of the changes made to the registration of birth. In cases in which the relationship or identity of the applicant is in doubt, a baptism certificate may be requested as secondary evidence. Such a certificate must prove that the record of birth was entered in the record book for the year in which the baptism took place; the document should be authenticated by the Chancery of the Catholic Church in Managua, Nicaragua. A Supletoria of baptism is not acceptable.

My wife got her interview scheduled for September 15. We got notice from the NVC on August 14. She was DQ'ed on July 10. We did not request an expedite. She is a Korean citizen, I'm a US citizen, the interview is in the Seoul Embassy for an IR-1.

Thank you for your reply. My wife went to the center were she was told to go but the embassy has not sent it yet. They did tell her to wait a week and tomorrow is exactly a week since gotten approved. Guess my wife got a little anxious and went before being ready for pick up.

Ncornejo7 got a reaction from Yumburger in I-864 needs to be updated? and bring recent tax return in Interview?
You can upload the updated i864 before the interview, therefore, the CO will have time to review it before the interview. Also take a hard copy with you just in case they ask for a copy. And just to be sure, I would bug your joint sponsors for any updated forms.
Edit: Dont forget your 2019 tax returns.

Ready just means the embassy has received it and it's ready for an interview once one is scheduled. So it's safe to say before an interview is scheduled if the case has been expedited.

Ncornejo7 got a reaction from Chilisquid in US birth certificate evidence question
Usually a US passport is enough evidence for citizenship. I would agree that by adding the short form birth certificate it wont hurt.

I met a guy today at a restaurant in Florida who is at the NVC stage with his 2 step kids in the Philippines. He told me they told him itd probably be December before the visas were issued. He had no idea you could request an expedite.
I got his number and sent him a long txt with the expedite email. If he follows the steps I told him he should get them here in a month.
It was really cool to share what I've learned from this forum.

Nvc has to go through the process of cancelling any interviews they may have programmed. It's sort of protocol to send those automatic cancellation emails. The reason being is because once embassy accepts the expedite request , from there on the embassy takes over the case. NVC has nothing to do with the case anymore, except to transfer it.
I know this because my wife got an expedite and I called nvc about that cancellation interview email and that's what the rep told me. Those are just steps the nvc has to take.

@Ncornejo7 Yes I confirm what @stech786 posted. On my Visa, it says "issue date = the date of my interview", and "expires on = 6 months after my medical exam".
Which means, we have 6 months to use it (officially go through Port of Entry). The day we enter, I assume I will have another stamp to start my conditionnal period of 2 years (since my marriage accured less than 2 years ago).
Take care

Mine was because my son is a us citizen living abroad with his mother and because of his strong attachment and dependency on her it will cause undue psychological distress for my son to travel without his mother. Therefore, my wife needs the interview to be expedited and her ir1 Visa to be approved.

Ncornejo7 got a reaction from Crazy Cat in I34 Annual Income amount
I would say it's safe to multiply by 12 if he gets paid a salary monthly. So let's say he gets paid 5,000 a month just multiply by 12 and you will get your current annual income.
