But again, I do not know how things work on the Philippines side of it. If I recall correctly, I think I requested my name change on my 485 (I adjusted my status from F1 student visa) and I went to SSA and banks once I received the green card. My 485 took six months. Now when I applied for my citizenship it took longer than most folks from my FO and several attorneys told me it was because of my name change. Who knows.

I was in your exact same situation and I am now a citizen. They didn't even request the taxes at the interview.

A lot of the documents that I submitted for my 751 were new in time, just the same type for AOS. For example, bank statements. Some of those, such as leases, covered the whole marriage, since that's what they are asking in the instructions. If you think that following instructions to the T is fluffing, so be it. I don't think the officers handling my cases saw it that way, since both my AOS and ROC interview were waived.
