  1. You'd get more accurate replies if you post on the African forum
  2. But you went to check what they did two days prior to the interview.... So again, the interview was your chance to correct anything that was misleading. It's somehow true that who you are travelling with is not relevant, however, you were not completely honest about your trip and the destination. And you knew that before coming to the interview. There's a statement n the DS-160 that say that you swear under penalty of perjury that the information in the form is true. You keep forgetting about that.
  3. True. You can't imagine how unethical these agencies can be. They love to state that you're married when you're not, because being married is a strong tie to someone's country. You can only imagine what happens if the tourist visa gets approved, the applicant visits the US, marries a US and are asked about previous relationships... Pretty hard to get a divorce decree from a non- existent marriage.
  4. I never said she did. I said "You had to sign it", meaning you should have signed it after reviewing and making sure that the information was all true and correct.
  5. So you had time to review it before the interview. You went to the interview knowing that the document was misleading. Your chance was the interview. Go in and say “there are some things about the form that I’ve submitted that I need to correct.” So again, no, you didn’t have to go along with that. Now, onto your question, whether to reapply or not, I wouldn’t unless your ties to home country significantly change, and you’re 100% honest about your trip. And that’s not even a guarantee, since by law DHS has to assume immigrant intent
  6. It’s not a joke. You had to sign it and swear that everything you stated in there is truth. You signing something that is not true and giving that information to the government is fraud.
  7. No, you did not have to "go along" with that. They have you read and sign the form. That was your chance to correct it. So no, you didn't have to go along with whatever the form said. All you had to do is to either tell the agency to correct it, or get rid of your agency and fill it yourself with nothing but the truth.
  8. Oh ####### I hope you didn’t see my messy hair and my chin! In my defense I was getting out of work on Wednesday when I called
  9. You're young, of a marrying age, with no property on your name, and not a 9-5 job. On top of that, you have family is in the US. Chances are slim, unless your ties to your home country change drastically.
  10. Yet said member doesn’t lurk on many forums. Said member sticks mostly to i-864 and the like. Mike E, Crazy Cat, TIMONA, SalishSea, Family… those ride different buses all across city.
  11. I remember thinking “wow, being in VJ jail must be her new hobby!”
  12. Ah, I fail that one. I been given a slap in the wrist by Ontarkie. But I’ve been good to ever since
  13. Open the doors of the temple for me, your majesty! After all, I’m an ‘Merican now!
  14. Excusez moi? Don’t I deserve to be bowed to?
  15. Don’t get mad at me, I’m just saying what USCIS says about Nigerian divorce decrees
  16. What about your spouses divorce decree? My bet is that they think you’re not genuinely divorced from the first wife. They think your marriage is fake, and that you’ll apply for wife 1 once you’re a citizen
  17. Do you know if your divorce decree from Nigeria is genuine? Did you go to court yourself?
  18. Thank you, but I’d rather be a mod here
  19. Ah now we are talking! is your ex Nigerian?
  20. Have you been married before? Has your spouse been married before?
  21. @Crazy Cat and @Mike E are both very knowledgeable. @SalishSea tells it like it is
  22. What about question 1? Have you ever applied for another visa before?
  23. If you had to guess, what's the reason why your case is taking so long? How did you get your green card to being with?
  24. USCIS has nothing, zero to do with J1s... Or F1s. It's the Department of State. 1. It's illegal to not grant a J1 due to age... But what's not illegal is employers wanting younger applicants. 2. No
