Are you seriously still considering meeting a person who is ALREADY dictating you who to be friends with?
Imagine the things he will be telling you to do if and when you end up married? How to dress, where to go, who to hang out with.

He sounds controlling and - quite honestly - not like an open-minded guy.

Honestly, I wouldn't. You don't really know that person and it sounds sketchy with the whole "I would marry you without knowing you". Sounds like a "I'd love a green card". Not necessarily the case, but possible. Anyways, going to a foreign country to meet a person you don't really know by yourself is too risky in my opinion. Make sure you have your friends with you when you first meet and if things go well, you can spend time with him alone. That's my advice.

    We had two reasons:
    - Because my husband, that lived with me abroad since we've been married got a job in the US with very little notice and had to leave basically one day to the other (this would even qualify you to do the entire process over the consulate)
    - Medical

Why do you think the government should pay child support to you when you’re married and expecting your husbands child? Even if you separated it would still be your husbands responsibility to pay child support for the child..

As parents or expectant parents it’s your responsibility to plan a family that both of you can financially support

Usually, all interview appointments for the day are at the same time. If both your names are mentioned in the appointment email, then you both go.  You'll probably see the interviewer together, with very little if any questions for your son.

Seperate interview, but you will attend your son's interview because he's a minor.

Why/how would children qualify for an employment authorization?? You can’t work in the United States until you are 16... we don’t condone child labor here lol

Also, make sure you've been paying U.S taxes and filing tax returns since you've been living abroad.

    Hi everyone

Since I haven't seen a group for the I-130 October filers yet, I thought I'll create one so that we can share our experiences on here.

My husband just recently submitted our I-130 petitions, receiving the NOA1 email on October 7th and the hard copies yesterday.😃

What service center is everyone assigned to? Are there any others with IOE numbers and processing by the Nebraska Service Center ?

Good luck to all of you! I hope everyone's case will be approved quickly 😊

There were quite some people that got approved from Vermont lately after a transfer from Nebraska and Texas. Keep your head up even though it’s hard 🍀

    Approved
    NOA1: October 10, 2019
    NOA2: June 16, 2020 (8 months)

Texas Service Center, no transfer, no RFE. I filed a "case outside of normal processing time" request in May, received a generic "cases are processed in the order they are received" response (not accurate!)
Text message and email notification this morning about a "case update". USCIS website still says "in process" but "case closed" above it; formal I-130 Approval letter is in our documents section. Good luck everyone!
  23. Thanks

Yes @B&C2017. My wife and I are in similar position as you, and we just got DQ. We live in Canada, for income we put 0 and in pen wrote foreign income. My wife and I are using assets, and the NVC basically said it's up to the consular to decide if the assets are applicable and not them (they are just checking documents).  That said, I did get an RFE of employment income for my wife even though we are in Canada and I had to use her paystub.

Good luck with your journey. You are getting close!

Thank you so much @NikLR! I've been following this forum for a few months now and I know that people like you, @pushbrk and @geowrian have not only a lot of knowledge, but also experience on this topic which is why I was hoping for some answers from one of you 🙂 (even though I really appreciate @Punisher for taking the time to try to research this for me. So a BIG thank you to all of you!

We do have my in-laws as joint sponsors since my husband's and my income won't continue in the US (as we both live abroad now), but I will definitly list my employment and his student/student job on the form like it was suggested in terms of the bigger picture.
