privic reacted to Lupecita in N-400 March 2024 Filers
I applied on 03/31 online and just received my noticed that my interview has been scheduled for 06/25 (Detroit). However, I will be out of state that day on training.
Anyone familiar with the rescheduling process? I called and was told I will receive a call once my reschedule request has been approved and then I get put back in the queue does that mean I wait another 6 weeks for an appointment?
I will be at an important work trip and everything has been booked, or I would not be rescheduling.
Thanks all!

To be fair, the website states 80% of the cases are completed within 10.5 months at WAC. EAC should be changed from 16.5 months to NEVER.

Hey everyone! Originally planned to file in August when the filing window opened, then got completely sidetracked when I started a new job in September but we finally got around to it today! Shipped via FedEx and should arrive tomorrow. Here's what we included, dates spanning the start of our marriage to present:
Check written for prescribed fees, paper-clipped to the top page G-1145: E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance Half slip for "renewal" that was included with the permanent resident card I-751: Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence Copies of front and back of permanent resident card Statements for joint checking and savings accounts (monthly for checking, quarterly for savings) Statements for joint credit card Statements for retirement and brokerage accounts with accompanying printed page showing each other as beneficiaries Tax transcripts for 2018, 2019, and 2020 Copies of shared health, dental, vision, and life insurance cards and other insurance enrollment confirmations Two vehicle titles that have us named as owners Lease for our current residence, plus corresponding utility and other related bills (monthly since start of lease) Proof of joint renter's insurance Specific to our circumstances, as we were long distance for the first year of our marriage and then lived with a parent for the second year of our marriage: Letter explaining the circumstances around our past living situation Photos and receipts of the travel, visits, and dates that we did in the first year of our marriage Receipts of gifts that we exchanged/had shipped in the first year of our marriage Affidavits from the parent attesting that we had lived with them for our second year of marriage Photos throughout our second year of marriage Copies of forms and registration for the adoption of our dog in April 2021 Two-hole punched at the top, then bound together with a fastener. Had to use a FedEx Express Small Box to ship the whole thing! Can't believe we're at it again, two years later. Time went by quickly - best of luck to us all!

Looks good! The only ID you needed to include is a copy of the petitioner's green card. The passports and marriage certificates are not necessary, but no harm in having included them. Good luck for a short wait!

He doesn't have a smart mouth. He has a dirty mouth at best so don't glamorize his spiteful speeches.
There were other half dozen candidates you people could have voted for if you didn't want the "communist party". Instead people chose a man who had over 30 years of political history with ZERO accomplishments to be their savior.
Covid-19 is not the only virus ruining our lives.............
And sorry, I know this is an immigration forum, but maybe we shouldn't leave politics out of it. So many things in immigration are political and if we can rant about how long USCIS takes to adjudicate petitions, we should also be able to rant about politicians ruining lives - of non-immigrants, immigrants and citizens alike.

Hey guys,
I am new here (1st post), but I have been reading through the posts for quite a while. This group has helped me a lot in a moment that I was literally freaking out (the waiting time of this process)... but thank God, i got my approval from USCIS today. I am still waiting for the approval notice though.
So here is my timeline in chronological order (from bottom to the top):
October 25 (today) - Status changes from "Case was received by another USCIS office" to "CASE WAS APPROVED" 🤗. However, myaccount.uscis does not have the update, just egov.uscis.gov website and USCIS case tracker app have the update.
October 22 - Call USCIS to correct my first name (they misspelled my name) - I haven't received any notification stating that my first name was fixed in their system.
October 21 - i received a Notice of Action (I-797) with my case number.
October 17 - Case was received by another USCIS office
October 16 - Case accepted by USCIS lockbox

Finally my journey is coming to an end!
i just received my uscis approval notification on the mail.
Complete timeline:
submitted all docs to DOS on 06/11.
embassy replied with the NOS on 06/12.
All info showed up on DOS website on 07/02, except for the NOS, which showed up one week later, but dated on 07/02 as well.
The DoS issued a favorable recommendation on 09/24, USCIS have received my case on 10/03, and approved it on 10/09. The USCIS website still doesn’t list as approved.

privic reacted to Loren Y in New AOS rules started 10/01/2019 Hosed us at the interview today.
Went to our AOS interview for the green card today at 2:25pm appointment. Arrived early did all the things you do, was called right on time for the interview. After ID checks we get to the office and get sworn in, next comes the new English fluency test. They have questions to ask to see if your fluent enough in English to answer questions at the interview. My wife is not exactly fluent, but her English is definitely good enough to have an interview conducted asking about me, my house, when I work, cars, etc. standard AOS interview questions. The sample questions are very technical and tough for even me to answer and I have been speaking English for over 40 years. she did ok I thought, but IO wasn't too sure, so she said just to be safe they would use the new translator by phone that USCIS started just a few days ago. Well, that's where the nightmare began. She had never used the phone translator before, miscalled the number about 3 times, prank called 2 people by mistake, finally went to get her supervisor to help her dial the phone ( You would think they would do some training before they put into effect a new procedure, at least make sure they know how to use the phone), so we finally get thru to the service and now it is close to 3pm PST, here is the complete hose, the service is only available from 8am to 5 pm EST, so 5am to 2pm PST, obviously we missed that by almost an hour now. I said I am sure my wife can handle the questions in English, lets not complicate things and get this done. Supervisor said there is a whole new list of questions they are asking for the AOS interview, and you have to really understand them to answer them correctly to match the information in the petition. The only option then was to reschedule the interview, so now I have to wait for a new interview where they are going to make sure it is before 5pm eastern time. Not only did I miss a day of work, get all dressed up, and smile and be nice to the clowns the whole time, now I will have to do it all over again. So moral of the story, make sure when you go to the interview your significant other is fluent in English, or make sure you go between the hours of 8am to 5pm eastern time, or do what I am going to do is bring a translator with me the next time around. May cost a few hundred dollars to have a interpreter there at my expense, but better than missing out on a simple interview.
So, anyone ever have to reschedule their AOS interview, and how long does it take to get the new interview. She said by law they have to give us 3 weeks notice of the interview appointment, so it will probably be a month from now, and I tried to convince her that I could be here with 1 days notice no problem if needed. but now, back into the mix waiting for an interview again that who knows when it will come. SO make sure you are prepared for the " NEW" procedure that they obviously are trying to start this month with no actual training on it. Really put me in a whole new level of dissatisfaction with how the whole Homeland security is run.

Hello guys, here is my problem...
It's being now 20 weeks since all my documents and NOS updated and no recommendation yet from NVC =(
I sent e-mails to 212ewaiver@state.gov and they only reply saying the timeline is around 17 weeks or more so my case will be processed soon.
I had already my interview for K1 Visa, they are holding my passport waiting for the final approve and I fear my time will expire without having this Waiver. There's anything else I could do? A number I could call or another e-mail? 20 weeks and no decision is just ridiculous, my personal life is all stopped and I am literaly getting sick of it
