If that were the catch in the question, then the answer should be a yes. Because, yes, someone filed a petition for me, so it HAS BEEN FILED. That, by the way, is not past tense. It's present perfect, which means an action that took place in the past has consequences in the present.

Presumptuous is an odd word for you to use. I just gave an example of what worked for me.  It actually is presumptuous for you to comment on something you have no idea - my life and experiences.  I did not mention the other relationships I passed on, especially the early ones after a devastating breakup.  In each I didn't let my desires override my senses.  The luck was in finding the one in a million person who was match for me, not in somehow not getting deceived.

There are several message boards for relationships, in particular about dating someone from the former soviet union (FSU).  There are many train wreck stories there, and in every single one the poster described things that are clear red flags early on in their relationship.  Most even admitted to noticing it -- "yeah I noticed X or felt X, But.."  The vast majority of scams work because the victim is open to it - either by naivety, stubbornness or plain wish for a fairy tale ending.  Many think to themselves "this is too good to be true", because, usually, it is.
 
I am not saying there cannot be a situation where the girlfriend/spouse is perfect in their deception along with a host of characters giving oscar worthy performances.  It's just not very likely.
 
I am sorry, but if you spend 6 month living with someone and are still fooled to something as blatant as a greencard scheme, then please go to an opthalmologist and get those rose colored glasses removed.  Or at least, learn from it and be more cautious/observant/realist the next time.

Have you talked to her about this? The cost of life in the USA? Considering you want her to contribute to groceries and car etc, I would suggest telling her what your expectations are. Make it concrete and show her your budget, make a joint budget. It's important she's aware of the cost of things and what's expected of her.

Ask her these things, rather than wondering. This is the woman you're planning on marrying and spending the rest of your life with. Your future wife. You should feel comfortable asking how things are viewed in her culture - what she wants from you in terms of being a good husband - what you would like from her. If you both aren't ready to have that conversation, it suggests you may be moving a bit fast.

Well then I guess it's fair to suggest that you are embarking on a marriage to someone you don't know well, having just spent a few weeks together in person.  As a 'mature' person, I'm sure you recognize the risks.  Good luck.

What I meant is that actions of others reflect their thinking and beliefs and are not a reason for one to feel personally attacked. I apologize.
I already said I was talking aout the good cause and not about the aggressive moronic ways that are being used as a cover by some. Maybe I'm just naive.

Wait, I think I misunderstood sth: As far as I am aware, (many) athletes who kneel are US Citizens. But it sounds like you think that non-USCs disrespect your (=USCitizen's) flag? 
 
I'm not sure what you meant by "playing your version of a national anthem". There is only one national anthem of the Czech Republic, not several versions. 

This is THE crucial part, in my opinion. The problem in this country is division and the will to keep the division alive&kicking. 
 
If one doesn't stand for the flag because they are too busy chewing a gum or picking their nose is a different caliber of disrespect than kneeling down because one wants to show support to a good cause. I guess I think a schisma in the society and racial division to the degree seen in the US is a good enough reason for one to kneel. 
 
Kneeling btw to me seems like an act of humility, so I don't know why it would be disrespectful to the flag. 
People in this country need to stop getting offended all the time by actions of others.

If there's a way for ppl in this country to find a way to live in peace, it's not through trashing one another. So I definitely don't support any such actions. 
 
I also like to watch sports - I watched the US Open tennis and saw Naomi Osaka wear facemasks with the names of people recently killed. Did I think it was okay? Yes, because she wanted attention for the fact that people lost their life. And I do believe that deserves attention. 
Then I saw Osaka's boyfriend during the finals, wearing a T-shirt that read "defund police" (or sth similar, I don't remember exactly). Did I think that was okay? No, because calling for defunding of police means one picked a side and its aggression delutes the message. 

I am not sure why anyone would vote mail in or absentee unless absolutely necessary.  The fact that states regularly reject hundreds of thousands of mail in ballots every election seems troubling to me.

You don't need to carry the original, just a photocopy. You'll have to go through both airline check-in and later CBP. At airline check-in, if they have doubts they may deny you boarding. Best to travel with it and not need it than to travel without it and be asked to show it.
