    Kat & K got a reaction from Kamali16 in December 2019 - AOS Filers
Hey, I‘m definitely not an expert but here’s my thoughts: IF the RFE is for insufficient income that pretty much means they only look at the number on the tax form and ignore the VA benefits. In that case the 2019 tax document would only help you if the number shown is above the poverty line. If I were you I’d probably start asking around for a Co Sponsor just in case and I‘d probably use one either way. It’s not that much more effort and you’re on the safe(r) side  My husbands income was way lower than usual in 2018 and even though we had tax forms well above the poverty line for 16 and 17 as well as a letter of the employer stating the current income plus a very good explanation for 2018 (living abroad etc) we decided to file with a joint sponsor.

Oh nooooooo 🙈 Well, my fingers are crossed 😊 It’s gonna be fine, if you end up getting an RFE at least it’s a super easy quick fix, but hey, I’d say you’re not even going to get one, they’ll just attach the passport copy and that’s it ❤️

Stupid me just noticed that I forgot to include a copy of my husband's passport with the I-846 🙈🙈
So I prepared a letter to NBC with the biographical page attached asking them to include it in my application.

I remembered reading here that this has worked for a couple of people with CSC for the K1 petition so I'm hoping that it will work at NBC too. Otherwise I guess I'm in for a RFE.

Kat & K reacted to Penguin_ie in Negative attitudes in the forum
I wanted to address the negative attitudes we have seen on the rise recently in the upper/ immigration forums towards those who ask beginner/ simple questions, or have unusually fast or slow VisaJourneys.

First, there is a tone difference between the Progress forums- which are mostly for support and cheerleading, and the Info forums, which are mostly to have questions answered.   While all our forums are supposed to be welcoming to all and friendly, this is especially important in the Progress forums, which are not to discuss politics, or be negative towards  those fortunate to have their case dealt with quickly, or  critical of those who voice sadness about their own slow progress. These forums are there to uplift eachother!

Secondly- in the info forums, you may get bad news.  When a question is asked, our members are encouraged to answer truthfully, even if this may not be what the Op wants to hear, because it is important to be informed.  However, the emphasis is still on being welcoming and friendly.  If you need to give bad news, do so gently, and stick to facts; constructive criticism of the Op's plans ARE allowed, but the emphasis is on constructive.  No need to dwell on mistakes (or tell members they should be on 90 Day Fiance- that is a personal attack and automatic suspension), or  illegal actions in the past- instead, encourage and explain legal options for the future.  And ONLY legal options- as per our TOS, VJ does not support, condone or encourage illegal (immigration) actions, and such posts will be removed.

Ultimately, we are here to help all members, old and new, easy cases and complicated, those who write a fact filled bullet point post and those who are panicking and don't make much sense in their first post. Yes, sometimes questions can be easily googled, or answered via a search of our forums.  But if you feel that way, just scroll past- no need to criticise the OP for asking the question.

After seeing the recent posts, I just had to check ours. Interview was scheduled February 11th!  Didn't get anything in the mail yet though. I was worried we would get an RFE since we forgot to fill out the wedding date box.

The I-131 travel document was approved on the 13th.

And it says the EAD card was mailed on the 14th. 😮

Just some random information...i was talking at work with our lead immigration attorney and he used to work for the US Government and did many many AOS interviews.

He was saying some quick tips:
    1. make sure you have pics with the parents, even if the pics are from K1 timeperiod...it establishes the bona fide
    2. make sure you quiz on the mundane things (side of the bed you sleep on, color toothbrush, do they use floss) things that only living with someone would show you

we are going to get coffee in the coming weeks to get a list of questions he used to ask and i will share....but thats what i have right now.

Keeping warm in the VERY wintery northwest in Washington state. The dog (Duke) is keeping me company while my husband works and I’m now patiently waiting for the arrival of my biometrics appointment. 😃

Gulf Coast Mississippi with a high of 72° today 😁 I'm trying to get our frontyard in order and still painting the rooms in our house. And of course I'm taking long naps cause it's the first time that I'm unemployed since I was 16 and so far I do enjoy it 😂😂
