I would give it a few more days before you start to worry. I was seeing people get their resubmitted documents approved within just a few days and getting really freaked out, but you're only a day behind us so hopefully your turn will be tomorrow!

It doesn't help--it takes as long as it takes--but you'll know about it sooner if you're calling every day. I called every week but I got the email with both case numbers at like 6 weeks 3 days--3 days after I had called and they said it hadn't been created yet and to wait 8 weeks. In my opinion calling and dealing with the long hold times isn't worth the max of a few days you're going to get ahead. It's probably going to take around 7 weeks so tuck in for another wait!

An "extra" for the "reader". Sometimes we see cases where the joint filing spouse does not want to provide an I-864 for whatever reason. Consular Officers do not like this. If the spouse is not willing to sign the contract and become obligated, it calls into question the commitment of the other spouse who does.

The best practice for joint tax filing joint sponsors is to provide an I-864 from one and an I-864a from the other. While this is not a literal requirement, a Consular Officer can ask for it, making it an "actual requirement". Avoid delays by submitting both.
