  1. We FINALLY received our IL today!!! Type: CR1 Embassy: Singapore (transferred from Mumbai Embassy on 03 July) CC: 01 Feb 2019 IL date: 17 Sep 2019 Interview date: 08 Oct 2019
  2. Do local embassies need sign off on cases before it gets marked as 'documentarily qualified'? Don't the cases get complete based on NVC review and local embassies do a check when the case is sent to them?
  3. Hi all, Would you know if a change of embassy triggers a recheck of all the previously approved documents submitted again per the new embassy? This is for the case that has been already 'documentarily qualified'
  4. Hi all, Our CR1 case has been complete for a couple of a month and we have been waiting get an interview date for ages. 2 days ago, we got two notifications from NVC in our CEAC: (1) Appointment Cancellation Email that says " We previously notified you of the date and time of your immigrant visa interview at the U.S.Embassy/Consulate General in SINGAPORE, SING. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have to cancel this interview. We will schedule a new interview appointment as soon as possible and notify you of the date and time. There is no need for you to take action at this time." The weird thing is that we NEVER got a notification for any interview being scheduled for us. (2) We got another notification soon after mentioning that our case has been documentarily qualified - which is the SAME message we got when our case got completed back in February. All our documents have been received and approved for ages. Why this mail again? Has this happened with anyone before? We changed our embassy location from Mumbai to Singapore on 3rd July - could this be because of that? Thoroughly confused. (2)
  5. Are Mumbai folks from end April/early May still waiting for their interview? I moved my case from Mumbai to Singapore on 03 July but stuck here as well :/
  6. Hi guys, We are a CR1 couple waiting for our interview to get scheduled at a local embassy. In the meantime, I am thinking about visiting my spouse for 2 months (already have a B1/B2). Work isn't an issue because my office is ok with me working remotely for this period. Do you foresee any issue for me visiting for this long? Have others visited for 2 months or so before and did you face any issue with that? I will obviously carry my employment letter, lease agreement, return ticket, bank records etc. Thanks in advance:)
  7. Yes I think they do background checks at all three stages - USCIS, NVC and at the local embassy. But wouldn't NVC do the checks BEFORE marking the case as 'documentarily qualified' and putting it the queue for interviews? Seems weird to me that they will do this afterwards and then also not tell us that we were in administrative processing. I know we are all just speculating and will never truly understand what's going on 😕
  8. Do you mean additional background checks on CR-1 cases that have already have their CC? Wouldn't it make more sense for NVC to be doing these checks before marking the case as 'documentarily qualified'?
  9. Nope We also moved our case to Singapore since I live here now and with hopes that Singapore embassy would move quicker 😕
  10. Hi all, Our case was documentarily qualified on 01st Feb 2019 and we were in queue to be interviewed at the Mumbai Embassy (we recently changed this to Singapore). All cases that were completed after ours (except one) and before April 19, have received their Interview dates and we haven't. When we call NVC then say everything is fine with our case and we are in the queue. I can't figure out why would we be skipped and fear something must be wrong at the backend. Has anyone else been in the same situation? I am worried that even though we've moved our case to Singapore, we will continue to be skipped!
  11. Any clue on when do they update their monthly visa statistics? Super keen to see what they would report for CR1 in June: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-statistics/immigrant-visa-statistics/monthly-immigrant-visa-issuances.html
  12. QQ - How did you get this link? Trying to figure out to get the same for another embassy.
  13. Thanks for sharing. To confirm - this is for the Islamabad consulate or Singapore?
