verde3light reacted to KULtoATL in DS-160 Travel plans
Have a tentative travel plan. That's all you can do because you wouldn't know how long you'll go through Administrative Processing after they approve your K-1 visa and before they finally issue the visa. The officer knows you cannot be 100% sure about the exact date you will enter the US. But whatever your tentative travel plan is, you might wanna make sure you can explain why you're thinking about flying to the US at a certain point of time e.g. you gotta serve work resignation notice, you wanna finish your apartment lease etc.

verde3light reacted to gkzrl in K1 Visa beneficiary interview in Rio requirements
I’m from Brazil and I’ll tell you: that list onthe website is the only thing you’ll need to follow. It’s pretty simple and direct. No need for booklets or pretty folders. Just have him bring the required documents from that list and he’ll be absolutely fine.
He will receive a sheet of paper upon entrance listing the order he’ll need to put the documents in.
That’s it. No secrets. As long as he answers all questions truthfully, he’ll be fine. The interview itself will probably take around 5 minutes.

You need your name on the pictures. No need for the date as far as I recall.

I hope not... I never read anything suggesting that was required. Names, sure ...

If you have tracking number from USPS, or whatever you used to send it, you can check with that and see when it is received by Dallas Lockbox. Monday is American Worker's day, so that will probably will add a delay to processing. If you included e-mail and mobile phone number on separate form with your 129F packet, you should receive notification soon. You will also see your cheque cashed via ACH transaction if you paid with personal cheque.

I know how you feel. We feel like that when we submitted our petition and even during AOS stage too.

verde3light reacted to debbiedoo in K1 Visa parent info and certificate number?
they want the current city/state (or equivalent if in another Country) that they live in. They don't ask for the exact street address if i recall correctly.

I would make the cover letter so you know that YOU included everything according to our guides. They're located either at the top of a page on the PC version or in a menu to the right on the mobile version.

I left everything that wasnt applicable blank, as it's just easier to read from an administrative perspective. nothing to do with laziness. their workload is insane as it is, why make it more taxing. I didn't get an rfe. in fact my visa is being delivered tomorrow. if you are super paranoid though, put n/a or none, as it states to do this in the i-129f instructions.

verde3light reacted to geowrian in G-325 This wasn't include in my app? Where do I find it?
The G-325A was removed from the I-129F petition process in early 2017. The questions from it are in the I-129F itself now.
Be sure you are using a current guide, current forms, and read all instructions.

AFAIK, the I-129F form hasn't been updated recently. Check the edition date (lower left corner of each page) and compare it to the one on the USCIS website (https://www.uscis.gov/i-129f) where it says "Edition Date".

Have her go to a decent photo place and have her picture taken - malls will usually have at least one place. She’s can choose if it’s glossy or matte there as well. Then she can scan it and send it out to you via email and you can go to Walgreens or any other suggestion the previous posters gave and have it printed.
If youre set on getting them by mail, have her go to correios and send them. There is a express option, just like USPS. I have sent packages and letters before from there and they got here just fine. It may take a while, but I’ve never had a problem.

I concur with @DaveAndAnastasia as my fiancee' emailed me her picture from the place where she took it and then I printed it on photo paper on my printer and it turned out great. We were approved on 8/9/2018 so it is definitely ok to do it this way if you can.

verde3light reacted to DaveAndAnastasia in K1 Visa Passport photos quality, Mailing
My fiancee got the image file from where she had the pictures taken, emailed it to me, and then I had it printed at walmart.com for $8 (the first few places I looked at for online photo printing didn't have an option for passport-style photos). Though if you've got a good printer and photo paper, you could print it yourself.
I don't know if that would work for you, but it's a lot faster than international mail (and usually cheaper and more reliable, too).

I did the same as the others. Got the pic file emailed and then went up to the UPS store and had them create the photos.

I will be honest: For our K1 application we put our documents in plastic sleeves/Binders, we were learning. I believe this made us wait longer for our packet to get picked up. We were some of the last people for the K1 processing in our forum group on VJ at the time (Ooops ...Lesson learned. My mind set is from graduate school and the presentation of materials).
For AOS application we just compiled papers (no plastic sleeves and pages were easily accessible) our case was one of the earlier ones processed during AOS for our EAD/AP card combo on our forum on VJ.
I believe part of the delay on the K1 was the binders/plastic sleeves (who wants to have to dissemble all that). So I am not sure if our processing times were due to of binders/sleeves and making it more work or just luck but I have my theories. Haha

We sent in a letter on how we met..as well as a lot of evidence... one of the first things the officer at the interview said to us “I read how you met..it was kinda cute” this totally eased me..especially since we were one of the few people left in the embassy after 5-6 hours

verde3light reacted to Daniela M_______ in K1 Visa Pictures family involvement/love story letter
We added like 25 pictures of us in different places from his 3 past visits, I typed at the back of each one date, place and our names. I did put them in chronological order but I have to say I was a little messy and just put all the printed pictures together with a rubber band and inside the package... Those pictures are from only us and maybe 2 of the 25 with some friends, I live in this country alone and we don't know each other families yet but they are aware of our relationship (I even talk with his mom on facebook). About the letter we did describe in a romantic way how we met, I thought they wanted people to be specific and we included as much details as we both could in one page (we include a letter each with our own version). I'm still waiting for NOA 2 btw.
What I mean is evidence from family and friends are good to include if you have it but not mandatory, the relationship and the application is about the two of you and if you are both legally free to marry then you are good to go.

verde3light reacted to jdaveh in K1 Visa Airline Tickets and Hotel Tickets proof
As long as your name is on the travel document it does not matter who bought. Actual boarding passes are better than email confirmation ( those can be faked )
-
verde3light reacted to p-ana in K1 Visa Airline Tickets and Hotel Tickets proof
You want to prove you two have met within 2 years. One way of proving is putting you two in the same place at the same time. Best way to show this is having passport stamps, boarding passes (tickets are only proof of buying them but not necessarily using them), receipts of purchases such as hotels, meals, etc in the location of the visit.
If the email is proof of purchase, it’s valid. If the friend purchased things in your name that can be valid, but I did no understand what you’re trying to explain about the friend in this situation

verde3light reacted to geowrian in K1 Visa Pictures family involvement/love story letter
Having photos with family and the fiance/fiancee over a period of time is helpful.
Showing a date via photos is a challenge...if this is for the "meeting within 2 years" requirement for the I-129F, focus on verifiable evidence like passport stamps, boarding passes, receipts, etc. The photos can be added to corroborate the primary evidence, and/or for frontloading the petition with relationship evidence.
Having a letter describing how you met and such is fine to include, but really doesn't add a whole lot IMO...they will focus on evidence, not words.

verde3light reacted to Kush_Omaded in K1 Visa Pictures family involvement/love story letter
Unpopular opinion, but I actually found that including an extra little letter about how we met (in addition to other evidence of course) really helped us in the interview. Since I (the petitioner) wrote and signed the letter with a description of the circumstances under which my fiancé and I met, the consular officer actually referred to the letter to corroborate some of the details my fiancé provided. Since I couldn't be present in the interview, it was almost like the letter served as my testimony. Obviously, you'd want to ensure that the letter is totally accurate and that both of your memories match up and that dates and everything are recalled correctly, but if you're coming from a more difficult embassy, a letter may help serve as additional evidence (or if nothing else, an explanation). My fiancé was only asked a few questions (which the officer seemed to pull directly from the letter), before being given tentative approval (pending AP of course).

you dont need to send them a love story. really, no one other than you and your fiance care about that. you need a letter of intent to marry and a statement of how you met. Sometimes that is a borderline love story, but again, no one wants huge detail in it. just ... how you met.
they care they you have MET within the past 2 years and can PROVE it. this is why photos are secondary to passport stamps/ boarding passes/ receipts/ etc.
no, family members do not need to be in the pictures. i may have included a couple with my fiance and my son, but i dont recall, to be honest (i only have a couple of those anyways and were together every few weeks)
