Best bet is to read this thread and see if anyone posters have recently received a visa.
VJ is great but there is no section where people indicate when and where they got married with that information showing up in timelines.
It's usually just a feature you can see on someone's profile (and not everyone adds their wedding information). 
Your best bet is to request the section shows up in timelines in the General Discussion Area/ Site Related Discussion Forum.   
 

This forum is about Spouse Visas to the USA.  The only acceptance that is relevant is acceptance by US Immigration related government entities.  The spouse visa process is taking a year and a half to over two years.  Zoom weddings haven't been around very long, so there hasn't been time for a lot of success stories.  One reason you see a number of Philippines related Zoom wedding stories, is that people needed to be married to a Filipino, in order to visit the Philippines during the pandemic.  Regular tourists were not allowed until February 10/
 
"Proxy Weddings" have been around a long time, so US Immigration has protocols in place to deal with them.  Chief among those protocols is that the couple must show evidence of being together in person sometime between the marriage and filing the petition.

Yeah, I understand your hesitation to send original documents. In the case of the Montreal consulate, they inspect the original, compare to an uncertified copy, give back the original, and keep the copy.

Thank you for referencing company rigatulko . I am using similar priced company now online (the company I complain was in person  ) and nice to have backup . I will post results/price when finished transaction . Excellent communications/examples so far I've a hunch they great and will use them lots in future....I think it's good to post a thread like this so the next poor , or desperate /old uninformed/hoping visa/ or foreigner dont agree to such an outlandish price thinking it's the norm . YOU DO HAVE OPTIONS ! I would have paid too much within reason .  The translation company got bills to pay too  , and because it was in person transaction  ,  i still remember those days I prefer it . ......I dealt with staff only , maybe owner don't even know and staff on commission don't care , ECT ?  I woulda had more work for them .  I suspect the actual translator in latvia might have been happy with his commision at 50-100 usd per page , but i might be wrong about that . Or maybe this company gave me a reasonable price quote , it's just i got lucky and the next 5 quotes were 10 times cheaper    

About $20 to get my US passport translated to Ukrainian, with 3 copies.  About $10 to get my wife's BC translated from Russian to English.

You can probably hire people directly in Latvia to translate it for you at a significantly cheaper cost. 
 
I don't think that anything immigration related requires elite translators. USCIS and DoS are even OK with anyone doing the translation as long as they sign and state that they are fluent in both languages.

we paid $50 to translate and notarize my birth certificate. It’s still a lot and I didn’t even want to pay that but it was required in order to apply for a marriage license at our town hall and we were in a bit of a rush. 

When we needed our documents to be translated from Russian to English, we found company in Russia. They did everything quickly, professionally, and cheap. Like $10 or so per page. We dealt with them online, emailed them scans of the documents and they emailed us scans of certified translation.
Latvian language is somewhat rare in the USA, however, it's very common in Latvia to translate from Latvian to English. I would just Google search Latvian translation companies and order from them. I paid $26 USD per page, Burmese to English, in 2019.  It wasn’t a great translation, and I had to coach the translator. And my Burmese proficiency on a 1 to 1000 scale is less than 1.

I married my husband without meeting . I wouldn’t listen to other people . I would do the best thing for you . Not sure ,why it would look bad.?She active duty and that a good reason to do it . It’s also cheaper . I say do it and just be prepared to explain it.  As long as you meet after the fact . Why can immigration say? It’s not their job to be telling people how to marry . They need to be focus on making sure it real . They are looking at my petition now . I keep you posted on the outcome .
