Have there been any studies done to show the burden of healthcare from legal immigrants on the US taxpayer? I haven’t seen the numbers anywhere.

Before: good health, no insurance : pass

Now: good health, no insurance ( or unable to demonstrate how wealthy you are) : denied

That’s the difference. Now my biggest problem is despite having said I was not going to read or reply any of you people replies, people still quoted me, it alerted me with email. Thank you, and please leave me alone. If my comment hurt you, my sincerely deepest apology!

It depends on who the carrier is, but it is most certainly asked for. I was able to add my wife without an SSN, but had to jump through many hoops to do so. It's a catch-22 dealing with the SSN. Without a SSN you are effectively dead in the water!!!

If he is not living with OP and is not actually involved with utilities or living at a place where his name is on a lease, I don't think that would be a good idea, USCIS may think you are trying to fabricate more evidence despite him not even living at the place on the lease. Adding him on to a DEED would be fine because that is a list of who OWNS the residence, but I don't think it's a good idea to add him on to a LEASE which is supposed to list the people who LIVE at the residence.
OP, you CAN however add him on your insurance policies as a beneficiary and whatnot though if you have any of those and use that for evidence. I just don't recommend adding him onto leases and bills that he doesn't live at or pay because that may smell fishy.

If not, just send what you DO have and make sure to frontload your petition with a good amount of it. My husband and I sent 22 pictures (4 wedding pictures, and pictures with friends and family, and of just us), 1 wedding receipt, photocopies of all our plane tickets to each other and photocopies of our passport stamps, a 3rd party affidavit (weightless but we included it anyways), theme park receipts with our names on it, etc.
Don't try to "create" evidence. Use what you already have. Also sidenote, having his name on your taxes is not evidence and means nothing (it's also useless to send your taxes anyways because they aren't needed until NVC stage)

No.  Use some common sense.  For example, if you've been married once and you enter NONE for the previous spouse family name, you can leave all the rest of that section blank.  If a checkbox is checked "no" that will also render the rest of the section N/A, so leave it blank.

First, ask your friend to join the website, it's a lot easier to talk to the person who is having the questions.

Second, did they hand your friend ANYTHING other than the passport? Maybe something telling them that they should send something in?

Third, did they ever get the e-mail and if so what did it say?

Correct or in the same box as self employed simply add from home address.  You're only showing a couple years, so you'll need to cover the full five years in one way or another.

YES!!!! If there's one thing I can tell people more than anything is to front load at the USCIS stage!!!! It is organized and gives USCIS a chance to give you any extra pointers they feel is necessary. USCIS helped me so much in my husband's approval.

Congratulations to you both!!! Life is about to change so embrace every minute you have with each other. I remember leaving Accra each trip sobbing my eyes out because my husband couldn't even come in to help me load my luggage at the airport. Now he is here with me in the USA and I will never take it for granted. I'm so happy for the both of you!!!

My husband had his interview on 8/28/18 VISA APPROVED. The next day status changed from AP to Issued. Earlier today he received an email and a text message that his passport is ready for pickup. It took 8 calendar days from interview day. @MrsMensah @Sheff&Cori @Chiefay @O&GForever

It best to talk with Ghana people who have been through the i130 process and have passed or failed ...they can give you the best information. There has been some that married first visit and passed because they made many trips or long trips and had lots and lots of evidence. The embassy has improved but is still very tough. From the evidence I saw I think you are on the right start.

Yeah you’re looking at a tough battle ahead for you. You’re gonna need way more visits and family getogethers before the wedding takes place. You met online, got engaged in just a handful of months, and wanna start immigration process. You’ll be most certainly seen as non-bonafide couple and you will get denied for sure. Meet more, meet each other’s families. Take trips together to other countries. This is gonna take a while and cost you a lot. Good luck.

My husband is also from Ghana.....There are no red flags that I see...She visited one time and they are marrying second visit...nothing wrong with that as long as she make more visits and submit a lot of evidence. Once your interview occur you will be together over a year...you only 2 years younger and same religion....be prepared at the interview and plenty evidence of bonafide and you should be good.....Remember God has the final say so in this process ...face to face time is key and u are affiliated with each others families
Dont do a K1 they are hardly approved with Ghana's embassy...you will be wasting time and money

CR1 takes almost a year. So if you get married in October and apply for it in January 2019, your spouse will get the visa tentatively by December 2019.

If you apply for K-1 (fiancé visa) say in first week of October 2018, you would get the approval from USCIS by March 2019 and if all goes well then K-1 visa by end of May 2019.

Now, there are advantages and disadvantage of both the visas. Though CR1 takes long time (approximately one year if all goes well) to come, once your spouse gets the visa she enters US as a permanent resident and is eligible to work. She gets the social security number in two weeks. Also, the total amount of money that you spend on CR1 is comparatively less than K-1 visa.

With regards to K-1 visa, your fiance will get the visa in approximately 8 months (if all goes well) and she will enter US as your fiance with the intention to marry you within 90 days. Once your guys are married then you will have to apply for her Adjustment of Status(AOS) that gives her a conditional green card which takes approximately 4-6 months to come. In addition to that if she wants to travel out of US during her AOS period, she will have to apply and obtain Advance Parole. If she wants to work in US then she will have to apply for Employment Authorization Document (EAD). You pay separately for each of these requests.

The main advantage of K-1 is that it allows you to be with your partner at the earliest. So it's up to you what you want to opt for. If you wanna go for CR1, it will take one year for maybe lil more for your spouse to be with you.

So not a lot of red flags.  Just make sure you do your research through the appropriate sub-forum to make your journey as successful as possible.  As to getting married on the 2nd visit, that is your decision, but as to having a successful visa application, there is more that you will need to prove to a CO to grant a visa.

    Good Luck!

Also be mindful of the typical "red flags" for such cases. Are you the same age and religion? Are you of the same ethnic origin? How many previous marriages for either of you?

Ghana is a notoriously difficult consulate. Put a few more visits under your belts before you file. And personally, id wait until later to get married. But thats me. Marriage is more than phone conversations and whatever text app you use and a few weeks of vacation time. I wouldnt marry someone on only the second time i met them (and Paul and i knew from the beginning we'd get married, and for us, we have almost 3 years and 40 visits and still arent married. Obviously, thats not possible for most people but no one can say we DONT know each other well lolol)

aside from only meeting twice (come later this year), what other red flags are there?
