Hughlyn got a reaction from Megan&Daniel in RFE Cirumcstances of meeting
My decree does not state when we separated just that we were divorced on this day etc. She moved out and left April 2017 which will be a deceleration response in my RFE. My Ex knows about my new fiance and is not happy but she has always been a drama queen which is one of the reason we ended out relationship. I almost would want the embassy to call her but then again who knows what she would lie about lol.

depends mostly on the officer who has your file. we were not questioned about anything in our petition and in hindsight, there are a few things they COULD have RFE'd for.

I think Damara among others gave great advice.
In looking at your latest response, I think (and I have no experience with this process) you could be more literal  and chronological in your response.
They want to know about your meetings in person. Your response, while it may to obvious to you, could be interpreted in different ways, thus the RFE in the first place.

    Something like this:
I have been separated from my ex-wife since April 2017 when our relationship ended and our divorce was finalized on February 8th 2018.

Lyn and I started to communicate on Facebook on June XX, 2017, after being introduced  thru a mutual friend.
Our friendship grew stronger turning into a great relationship., at which point I decided to go visit her in XXX on October 14 2017

My first trip to see her was on October 14 2017. in XXX, I stayed int he XXX Hotel. We spent the days doing such and such. (pictures attached, [a couple not a 100]).  I departed October 19,2017
My second trip, December 4, 2017 until December 20,2017
My third trip, I was able to stay two months, from January 14,2018 to March 11, 2018 .I proposed to Lyn for marriage on March 11th, 2018 and filed the I-129F petition on April 2018
My forth trip was June 28- 2018 to July 23, 2018

I have spent over 5 months in person with Lyn and plan to be at the embassy interview.

thanks my two cents worth. Good luck.

So to answer this RFE... i feel the response should be honest and to the points. such as:

I have been separated from my ex-wife since April 2017 when our relationship ended and our divorce was finalized on February 8th 2018.

Lyn and I did indeed meet on Facebook on June 2017 through a mutual friend and we became close friends. Our friendship grew stronger turning into a great relationship.  We met in person several times (See dates below) that strengthened our relationship.

I proposed to Lyn for marriage on March 11th, 2018 and filed the petition on April 2018.  Since then I have also been to the Philippines to see Lyn in June 2018 through July 2018.  I have spent over 5 months in person with Lyn and plan to be at the embassy interview.

    October 14 2017 - October 19,2017
    December 4, 2017- December 20,2017
    January 14,2018- march 11, 2018
    June 28- 2018-July 23, 2018

Oh, that is not an issue. I have over 5 months in Philliines with all copies of airline tickets, over 4K of pics and 100's of videos. We submitted pics of each trip and have more form othe other trips I took in June and July. Also going again this month.

Well after speaking to a lawyer, i was informed that legally they have no ground to deny the petition unless I submitted the petition while I was still married. That is not the case. The official divorce date was FEB 8th, 2018. The petition was not submitted until APRIL 26th, 2018. That is good news. Additionally, the EX moved out before I even met Lyn online.

I would include the approximate month/year you separated from your wife, and mention that the *divorce* was finalized on Feb 8, 2018....the way you have it worded sounds like you finalized a legal separation (not a divorce) from your wife in Feb.

All that you should know is that now roughly 30% get denied at both stages. With new regulations effective October or something the number of formal denies will subsequently increase, then probably will come to normal when people adjust. Stay here, you will see some horror stories emerging from time to time, but behind each horror story there usually is somebody lying, being negligent or ignorant of basic requirements or at least several red flags. People do not eagerly share their woes with strangers and a lot of issues remain undisclosed when a horror story is discussed. It is really unusual for a bona fide couple not to get approved within a reasonable time. Here the statistics breaks in again and says that at least 70% are approved. And please remember, that only a tiny proportion of all applicants are VJ members, the vast majority are simply left behind the scene and people just tend to care less. Whoever posts here probably has some real or implied reasons which they consider serious enough to seek additional information and/or peer advice. So whichever horror stories pop up on VJ, are just concentrated picture of average.

    Hey!!

I was approved last Friday and getting my visa on Monday!! Took 279 days without any RFE’s (visa in hand). I wouldn’t recommend making plans whatsoever as you never know whether you’ll get an RFE (if and when). Make plans for interviewing when you get NOA2. Ours took 184 days which is a god send, no RFE. Times aren’t getting shorter. Just play it by ear. I near fell to my knees when we got approved last Friday in London. I know it’s tough!

    Good luck,
    Jon

It is so hard to know for sure specific time frames. There could be a delay at NVC, perhaps something happens during the medical which causes huge delays?

While you have a large time frame to be there, that's good; but remember VJ time lines are a small percentage of actual I-129f petitions and K-1's so...

Hopefully if you booked something already maybe checked to see if you can adjust the dates as needed without any charge, or too much anyways just in case.

Hello from Houston/Katy area also... well I'm in Argentina right now for work but still the other half is at home haha.
