Fingers crossed for you and hoping you receive an approval! Would love to hear the outcome when you find out a definite outcome.  Thanks for the information on what to expect when there.

I just went to mine this past Tuesday. It was at the Atlanta field office. Got a nice officer. My interview was really straightforward with him asking me the following questions:
Basic biographic details Parents' names My phone number Current address My husband's date of birth How we met Where we met General relationship timeline Full list of the criminal background questions (the same ones on the form where you had to check yes, no, N/A and/or explain) I frontloaded when I filed my AOS and he said it seemed like everything is in order. I brought more updated supporting documents and I submitted the more recent joint account statements, auto-insurance with both our names, health insurance mailer with both our cards, my husband's work benefits enrollment confirmation that has my name on it, beneficiary listing for his 401k, new letter of employer, 2018 joint 1040, husband's W-2, Costco renewal notices, 10 photos with family members and some with just us. The officer asked me what's going on in each photo and I told him who's in them and where the photos were taken.

However, he gave me the paper that says a decision cannot be made immediately and further review was required. He did say that is he issues that document to  all applicants that are assigned to him because he likes to re-review everything before he gives the final approval. He then walked us out to the photocopier to make a copy of our IDs, shook hands and we were on our way out.

My status updates have been kinda erratic. Started with card in production on the very next day and then later that day, it said my case was reopened. And when I looked at https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ today, apparently there was an approval status on 2/28 and then it went back to case reopened. I cannot tell you if I was approved or not for real but I sure hope so. I could answer all questions and he didn't seem to doubt our relationship.

Here's what to expect on the day of your interview at the Atlanta field office:
Arrive 30 minutes PRIOR to your interview time. Go through entrance security. Go to the reception with your ID and interview notice to check in. You will receive a number ticket. Proceed to the Second Floor. Sit towards the front where there are two TVs because that's where your number ticket would show up telling you which Door to go to when it is your turn. Keep your eyes glued to the screen because they don't use a PA system. Door 1 is where the elevator is. Door 2 is at the front of the room. Go to your Door and your officer will come out announcing the number and if it is yours, you go with the officer. Once you are in the office, you will have to raise your hand and take an oath to tell the truth. Officer will ask for your ID and index fingerprints. Once biometrics is confirmed, interview will begin.

All your friend can do is go through with the interview and, well, best of luck. It is NEVER a good idea to lie though, whether on application or to an Immigration Officer.

Awesome. Nonetheless, your job or finances is a not requirement for Affidavit of Support; that burden is all on your husband (the sponsor). Good luck with your job situation and your interview. Break a leg.

Then you should be fine Don't worry about your job situation just take whatever just to have a job for the AOS search for a job that will make you happy instead. Your job or not job will have no effect what so ever.

You are not required to have a job. They are interested in the sponsor having income. If they ask, making pleasant conversation,  just say you are still looking. No problem.

Maybe someone else has more experience so please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm not sure just a statement would be enough. A sworn affidavit is notarized, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Affidavit. So that's something to keep in mind to get (I didn't do much research, what I'm writing is based on stories of friends who lived with in laws and had to go through this process)

Sorry, I read 'we are residing at my mothers house' instead of his mothers, that's why I mentioned co sponsor. But if he (the USC) def makes enough then no, you don't need a co sponsor

Oh and congrats on your new job!

@USS_Voyageralready gave a lot of great tips on the evidence. Since you live with your mom, you could bring sworn affidavits from your parents and an explanation why you live with them, that all the bills are in their name etc (this should be written by your parents, not by you and it should be sworn) besides all the stuff mentioned above. I know someone who did this for ROC and got approved.
Keep in mind that if you don't make the 125% or if you just started working, you should have a co-sponsor (if you didn't already filed an I-864 with a co-sponsor)

I always advice to go a little light on the photos. Put them on an album. Do a reprsentation spreading out the duration of your relationship. The photos will not be the focus of the interview, but rather other documents that prove your relationship and your commmingling of assets, your bank statements, joints checkings, savings, insurance policies, ....

Yeah, that is my only option. I can wire her money every month to help out as I do have an EAD.  Just hate being so far apart when things had to go wrong back home.

You can work in the US with a valid EAD and send money to your mom in UK and Skype a lot. That's much safer  With the GC, when you get it, you can stay out of the US for 6 mo out of a year but even with that it is not recommended that you get a job in the old country, unless the employer is US-based and is sending you there for a project.

Have you been added to anything, like your husband's health or other insurance? Any bills/utilities? The joint bank account is fine, even if it's in your maiden name, and as someone else stated - that can be updated once you get your EAD, which will likely happen before AOS anyway.

Do not stress about having it all now - these are things you will accumulate over time during your marriage between now and the end point for AOS anyway. I had similar stress after my husband and I got married, before we'd even mailed off his AOS papers. I felt like we needed everything RIGHT NOW, even though most of it isn't even required for AOS submission and won't be needed for a while. I had to take a step back and remind myself we have time. I made a folder separate from other important papers in our file cabinet at home to start collecting things for the AOS interview stage. As we accomplish and gain more things, I'll add to it while we wait.
