Hey guys!

I know everyone's case is different, me and my husband are in that stage between I had my Biometrics done on the 17th of April this year and am currently awaiting NOA2. We live with his mother and all we have really for evidence of our marriage is photos, marriage license and certificate and I'm not sure if it would be any good, but a joint bank account with both our names, except it is in my maiden name due to the fact we had it done before we married and the bank will not let us change it as I have no US photographic ID. Will this be a problem? I do understand it will be a long time until we get contacted for interview, I just get days where I stress out about having so little evidence. My brother in law has said he would be happy to write a letter/supporting document to state how he knows us and can confirm we are a married couple.

joint bank account is good.  What about wills showing each other as beneficiaries, heath care proxy statements, life insurance statements, etc.  You might want to check into opening a credit card with both names.....anything showing both names and/or connecting you both to the same address.

Have you been added to anything, like your husband's health or other insurance? Any bills/utilities? The joint bank account is fine, even if it's in your maiden name, and as someone else stated - that can be updated once you get your EAD, which will likely happen before AOS anyway.

Do not stress about having it all now - these are things you will accumulate over time during your marriage between now and the end point for AOS anyway. I had similar stress after my husband and I got married, before we'd even mailed off his AOS papers. I felt like we needed everything RIGHT NOW, even though most of it isn't even required for AOS submission and won't be needed for a while. I had to take a step back and remind myself we have time. I made a folder separate from other important papers in our file cabinet at home to start collecting things for the AOS interview stage. As we accomplish and gain more things, I'll add to it while we wait.

Håll ut, y'all.

Thanks guys, Paul & Mallory that is exactly how I have been feeling even though the Biometrics has been done I just get panicky about not having enough evidence. My husband needs to get his butt in gear and look for another job with benefits as we do not have medical insurance at the moment even though that would help a lot since I have had to visit the doctors quite a bit lately! We don't have any bills in our name, my husband has been struggling to pay rent to his mother as his job isn't great due to having to take days off and it is also weather dependent.

Once we get the current mess sorted out with the IRS, I am listed as a dependent on his tax return and we do have mail of stuff addressed to me at the address we both live at that is in my married name.

All of those things you do have will be helpful. Go ahead and start putting these things (or copies of these things) away in a folder or file somewhere so that you don't have to dig it all back up at one time when the time comes. Doing that may give you a bit more peace. :)
