Klam got a reaction from NikLR in Consulate kept original birth certificate at interview
There's no sealed packet anymore for Montreal. Everything's submitted electronically. She was specifically told this by the CO and in a letter she got after the interview. The only thing you need to worry about not opening is your medical packet.

Yes, she brought everything. They kept copies of some docs and didn’t seem to care about others. The BC is the only original that they kept. According to my wife, the clerk didn’t seem very organized. Didn’t speak English well and overlooked some docs that the CO later asked to see (CO specifically said the clerk made some mistakes). This is why we suspect a mistake was made in keeping the BC.

Klam got a reaction from Sarah Kay in NVC Filers - March 2019
FYI, we got an email from NVC this morning that we were documentarily qualified (I guess that's the new CC?). We submitted the AOS docs on 3/18 and the IV docs on 3/20.

It says "generally" because there are other maneuvers you can use such as qualifying for HoH or going through the hassle of making the election to file jointly (something which I am doing this year). However, barring those exceptions, it is indeed mandatory to filing MFS and not single.
Use this link straight from the IRS:
https://www.irs.gov/help/ita/what-is-my-filing-status
Fill out the questions honestly. Assuming you are not supporting any dependents and don't intend to file jointly, you will get the message below. Note how it says "not eligible for any other filing status":
What is my filing status?
Your filing status is married filing separately. You are not eligible for any other filing status.
Choosing married filing separately as your filing status may affect the taxability of Social Security benefits. It may also affect your eligibility to claim certain deductions and credits. Married couples who file separately usually pay more tax than those who file jointly. -

This is totally wrong and either your spouse's accountant is not aware of the marriage or you guys need a new accountant. You cannot file as "Single" if you are in a legal marriage recognized by the US. The correct status is "Married filing separately" (or HoH if you qualify). It doesn't matter if the beneficiary isn't in the US or doesn't have to to file US taxes. The beneficiary in this case is a "nonresident alien". For the spouse's SSN, you would put "NRA". Alternatively you can get an ITIN for the spouse. This is unlikely to cause issues with immigration but CAN cause you issues with the IRS if caught. This can be very bad news, especially if you underpaid your taxes due to the filing error (tax brackets for single and MFS aren't identical).
You can find numerous articles on google confirming this.

Klam got a reaction from Crazy Cat in Other nationality/passport for DS-260
Well, the question states: "Do you hold or have you held any nationality other than the one you have indicated above? " So I think omitting the Venezuelan citizenship would constitute misrepresentation.
