HTMW reacted to Sarge2155 in From NOA to NOA2, What is the longest wait time?
582 days @HTMW
Their interview is this Monday please wish them well. Mine was 299 days!

HTMW got a reaction from Raizee in 243 days and still unlucky :(
You are not alone; I waited 582 days before NOA 2 and we are at day 639 in the process.
I know it's hard, but practicing patience and keeping yourself busy will help you.

HTMW got a reaction from AnneA in K1 Visa - Process more than a year - DELAYED
Fingers crossed you get an expeditious and positive answer.
Lawyers are SO frustrating and (in my opinion) a waste of money most of the time for these things - I don’t think they are really vested in the cases they take, money is what they care about. If I were you, I’d stop utilizing the lawyer and start an open line of communication with the necessary avenues yourself.
In our case, we were THIS CLOSE to filing a Writ of Mandamus - and spent a ridiculous amount of money. They did nothing.
We were approved shortly after reaching out to the senators office who facilitated a congressional inquiry - which produced an RFE which led to our subsequent approval.
I’ve received the most beneficial information right here, on VJ. In hindsight, I would have gladly handed over my money to @Greenbaum who has provided me (AND SO MANY PPL) with the most useful, experienced advise rather than to a high powered immigration attorney who just saw me as a cash cow.
wishing you the best of luck! you are in the right place!

Another reason not to use a lawyer. Drawing the process out can equal more money for them.
No one is more invested in this process than the petitioner and beneficiary.

I'm sorry to hear of the long wait - it can really get to you!
You mentioned 3 RFE's - did you confirm USCIS received the requested evidence? What were they for?
Have you sent in inquiries through USCIS as your case is out of normal processing times? If so, what was their response?
You can also contact your local senator's office and they can do a congressional inquiry (it can take a couple of months to get a response).
From someone who has waited an extremely long time for their NOA2, all you can do is inquire and go through the appropriate channels available for you and wait - they will give you an answer eventually, but unfortunately it's on their clock.

HTMW reacted to Crazy Cat in Question ?
Most US cities?????? Really????? You should travel more. Here in Texas (which could hold every person in the entire world), it isn't like that at all.......

HTMW reacted to TastyCake in Question ?
Ok, first of all I never said you need to take trips every weekend and go into bankruptcy but you can't just leave her stranded day after day. She'll be on a one-way trip back to her country in no time... and I wouldn't blame her.
You paint this really bleak picture of life in America. I am not sure where you live but in my state there are several nice places to live. If you're going to go overseas to find a wife don't bring her back here to live in Stalag 17.
And if the woman is from the city, don't bring her to Bumpkus Falls and say 'tough luck'. This woman left heart and home to be with you because you are ostensibly the love of her life. Consider changing your living arrangements so the woman has a snowball's chance in hell of enjoying her life while the paperwork stuff works itself out.
When I hear a man say you shouldn't spoil your woman when my point is to help her assimilate, that to me is a problem. You're in the fast lane to divorce court with that attitude.
I relocated to a place near a cute town center with some cafes, restaurants, a little shopping. She does yoga and Pilates and there are places for this in town. All are within walking distance.
I have researched festivals, fairs and other events that I can take her to throughout the year. We will certainly grab some dinner at a restaurant on the weekends as a treat.
Will there be some bumps and bouts of homesickness? You bet. But my lady isn't going to be under any form of 'house arrest' as long as there is breath in me.
