Either on DS 160 or during the interview, you will have the option to let them know that your daughter will join you later, called “ K2 follow to join”. You daughter can then apply for K2 visa within one year after you have been granted the K1 visa. Of course she has to be under 21 during that time.

If she doesn’t apply for the visa within one year or she is no longer under 21, then it will take lots n lots of years to immigrate to US with family based petition.

So basically What you saying is that, I just answer on the DS-160 that I will be going alone to the US and don't mention her name and at the interview tell them that my daughter will apply for K2 after I arrived the US?

I hope I understand correct, because that gives her a little time to decide what she wants once Im in the US.

    thanks

  2. Hy guys, I hope someone can give me the correct answer...

On the inicial petition, I-129f  they ask if I have any children, I answered yes. The only thing they ask on the petition was her name, date of birth  and if she lives with me, by the time ahe did, but now she lives by herself.

Further they didn't ask any of her documents like they asked mine.

We got approved on Mach 28th and I'm waiting for NVC to receive my case.

    My dilema is;

My daughter is 19 years old, she will be turning 20 in November 2018.

She will not be able to go to the USA with me by the time I have my POE. Work related.

I do want to have the door open for her in the future if she decides to come live with me in the US, specially because I'm the only close family that she has.

On the form DS-160 it asks if Someone is going to the US with me.

    My question is:

1-Do I need to include her now on the form and she goes to the medical exame and to the interview me or can she have that later?

2-If she goes to the interview with me, after the approval can she extend the 6 month time to enter the US in case that she can not make it? I dont think she will make it... she only can come next year of ahe decides to come.

3-Or can I start her K2 process after I enter the US and get married?

I have so may question about that. I don't want to lose the opportunity to give her the freedom/choice to come live with me if she wants to. As I said we are just the 2 of us... and it would be very sad if once I'm there and she decides that she wants to come live with me in the future and it'll be to later for a visa because she will be older than 21.

I hope someone whent through a similar situation and can tell me how they did it...

    Thanks in advance...

    Ps:Sorry for my English..😎

    Yeees!! Exactly one month ago

That is so sad and frustrated at the same time... I know it will not take your frustration away but at the end they have to answer to you... The closer it gets the harder it feels... Keep your faith strong...

It's funny but I still check my uscis tracker (app) almost everyday...Even though we are already approved... Everytime that I see that some people are still waiting and I get mad... It's not fair... Powerless...

Be strong you guys gonna get there...🙏

Does anyone else get mad at their fiance when they are actually feeling sad? I have been sick and my uncle just died from stage 4 cancer so I've been going through a lot and it's been hard to deal with without him here. I called him on Skype and I got mad at him and actually hung up on him and he called me back and asked why I was mad. I sat there for a min thinking about how it's not his fault and started crying, I told him I'm not really mad I'm just having trouble not having him here. I can't wait for this distance to be over.

Im sorry for you loss! 🙏

    CONGRATZZZ!!!!!!

That's how we felt. About five minutes of excitement, then we were like oh well..... moving on. I think if we weren't together and going to celebrate her birthday we might not have been excited at all. i Hate to say that, but I think after a while you just go numb to the whole process, good or bad. Honestly I get more excited reading about other couples approvals.

Congratulations to you guys as well... I agreed, I also get more excited reading about others approvals... 😎

Hello to all VJ family members.  As most of you know I am in the Philippines right now enjoying time with my better half. :D

Anyway......., Yesterday, or well I should say the 27th in the Philippines was my Fiancees birthday. This is the first time we have been able to be together for a birthday, so we wanted to really celebrate with a nice dinner and some wine. After getting ready and waiting for a Grab (Uber) if your not sure what grab is, my email notification went off on my phone. So looking for something to do I checked my email, and the email I received was from USCIS,  it said there was a case status change. I quickly grabbed my laptop, logged in, and WOW!!!! It said our case was Approved on the 26th!! Honestly I couldn't think of a more perfect way to get an approval notice! Almost like a storybook notice. We are together, it's her birthday, we were all dressed up and leaving to celebrate. Needless to say we now had two reasons, and of course we over celebrated, if that's such a thing. he he

Just wanted to let everyone know and thanks for all the support. I'm glad I could help in the past with scans and answering questions and will continue to help in the future.

When did you know something about your inquiry? ... we apply one, the page said  complete, but we have not received any letter or news about our case

My fiancé send an inquiry on the 15th of February and on the 26th we received a email saying that we gotta a RFE and 3 days later we had the letter on the mail...

Send what they ask ( a long form Birth certificate from my fiancé ) on the 12th of March and now we are waiting for the approval...

    Hello... FYI

i am using an attorney and I’m currently in Day 258... apparently calling and opening an inquiry is the worst thing to do this far in.

I opened an inquiry because of being so far in and I was past normal processing times. I screwed my self because even though there is no update, my case was already approved with a NVC number. The inquiry request caused the NVC to send my case BACK to the USCIS and now I have to wait for the bloody thing to get there so they can respond to the stupid inquiry. I screwed my self by calling and I only called because everyone here was calling....

so, if you’re thinking of calling... DONT.

Every case is different, in my situation calling and opening an inquiry did help them to touch our case... we might not have the approval yet but we did receive a RFE (their way of excuse the delay)

asking my fiancé to send a long form US birth certificate...

    We already replied to that...

I think they want a legible copy of it, and it has to be a long-form one. They say proof of US citizenship it can be ANY of the following, so you don't have to submit the FS-240 form, it's just one of the options.

Maybe you could ask him to request an original long-form birth certificate and send it, so there's no way they will say it's not a legible copy, along with copies of all this US passport pages.

    Thanks... we gonna do that.

  10. I NEED HELP WITH A RFE:

Can someone explain me why they ask this (see pic) to my US fiancé... he is 100% American... He did send with the petition the copy of his birthday certificate... or they just want a legible copy!

And what about thid form FS-240?

    talking about making thing difficult...

If someone can help me with that please...

We finally got some action on our application.  Its a RFE 😔 not sure what it could be.

We think its because we submitted a case query and its USCIS' payback 😂😂😂.

We will wait and see what the paper says

To me RFE felt as an approval... I'm so happy... and you should be as well... at least they touched your case... and what can they ask that we don't have right?

So enjoy the moment the approval is coming...

  12. Alright talking about background checks.,. my fiancé and I have a very funny situation. I the beneficiary born in Brazil after 20 years moved to The Netherlands...

My name is one of a kind... Unique... I swear I'm the only one in the entire world with my name... if they gonna do a background check on me it will be... Search... Enter... 5 seconds later... results...

My fiancé on another hand has the most common name and surname in the USA and maybe around the world... his background check it will be... Search... Enter.... 7 months later... still waiting for results.... 🤣🤣🤣

That's why it's taking so long for my NOA2... 😎
