My ROC was also approved with no interview and we have no children and don't plan to. We were also never asked once throughout the whole process if we had children or were planning to. It's purely due to the individual IO and their bias. Some IO's do think that if a couple has children, it's "stronger evidence". But not every IO operates like that (and they shouldn't because the whole point is to be objective and adjudicate each couple on the basis of their unique circumstances) beause as pointed out, there are many couples who can't have children or don't want to. Not having children does not mean a couple is less in love or is less legitimate or is less bonafide than those do.

Hoping that if we do get called for an interview, we don’t get that type of officer. We don’t have children, and we’re not planning to. Children are just ONE type of evidence… a reputable officer should look at the totality of circumstances. After all, the act of having a child all it proves is that two people had unprotected sex with one another at a certain point in time.
Bank accounts, taxes, retirement accounts also speak of a bona fide relationship. This was just a very conservative, possibly ultra orthodox officer

To be eligible for GC / Citizenship, having children isn't a requirement. Its a supplementary evidence that trumps others. Not sure why its difficult to understand. People do get approved without children as well and a lot easily.

Either the OP is lying, or I am lying or like you and crazycat pointed out the IOs we encountered must be (whatever word you wanted to insert). But then again its VJ, where posters are self proclaimed experts / lawyers.

And where are the statistics that prove that USCIS looks more favorably on couples with children? If that were the case, why was I never asked about children or why I don't want to have children? Why was my process super easy, all the way until naturalization under the 3-year rule? And why were my other friends who went through this exact same process as me who also don't have children were not asked about children either and why was their process so easy then? What about the couples who DO want children but cannot due to severe medical and/or psychological issues?

    Not true at all.
My AOS we had no children together. No interview.  My ROC we had no children together. No Interview.  My N400 we had a daughter together and the IO did not count her at all or want to even see her BC. She wanted more joint/co mingled items.

Every now and again we get someone with and IO who says and does silly things like the above. Good thing most of the time the files need to be approved by a supervisor and not he wing nut who says things like that.

Congratulations..  What about couples who can't or DON"T WANT to have children?   I think this is extremely discriminatory.

Which is financially insane; before EAD or green card the immigrant spouse cannot work.
In less than 110 hours of work at the federal minimum wage, you will have made more than the AOS fees (before taxes, anyway; after gets complicated).

If money is tight it's more important to get started on AOS ASAP, not less.

Sounds like he participated in the "fraud", too since he had to provide a lot of evidence to prove the marriage was bona fide.  I would remind him that he is incriminating himself.

I also got divorced in California, but under really different circumstances. I was able to afford a lawyer, but I do know the courts have family law clinics where you can get free or low cost help. You should check with the courthouse where you filed. I don't know what county you're in but here in LA county these services are available.

To add the to the good advice already given above, the sooner you get married, the more likely it is that you'll have been married two years upon US entry of the beneficiary. This gives a 10 year GC rather than a 2 year GC with removal of conditions requirement

If you want to get married in September let me know. I can get you all set up with certificate in hand in about an hour. Message me for my contact information, and I can definitely get you squared away. And I don't charge members of VJ for the service! Unless you need me to dress up like Elvis or something... LOL

Ok, I tried to stay out of it. My ex-wife has decided to marry her boyfriends roommate to help him get citizenship in exchange for cash. She told me about this a couple times and I advised her to step away and not get into anything illegal. Unfortunately she did it, so not only has she committed fraud, she's not going to get paid now. I have our sons interest in mind and would like to keep them from being near that whole situation. Is it wrong of me to try and disconnect thier time together?

Again, without exact dates and the numbers of days in vs days out of the US, it is hard to advise. Continuous residence and physical presence are technically 2 different things and you need to fulfill both for N400. If you wait for 5 years from when you made the  2020 arrival into the US, your travel history should be ok .. but please read the requirements for applying for citizenship.. physical presence and continuous residency .. understand those and you will be able answer your concerns

From when she becomes a citizen and files:
    - mom and dad will be the processing time (uscis processing plus NVC processing + wait time to get appointment in Mexico) Maybe 2-3 years, maybe less if the Mexico queue backlog improves

    - yes, sibling visa for Mexico is currently 22 years, see category F4 in table 1 https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2022/visa-bulletin-for-august-2022.html
No, there is no way to speed it up. Hypothetically your parents in law could also file for her older sister eventually but because she is married, they will have to be citizens first, so above 2-3 years + 5 years to naturalize+ the wait time for F3 category, which (same doc as above) is actually even longer than F4. So that’s not cutting any corners. For the younger sister parents could file for under 21 child once they are LPRs, that’s F2A in the doc and the current wait is 3 years - so that is a faster option for the younger sister, but not in any way “fast”. There is no way the younger sister can come with them at first either, so would she stay with the older sister?
If her sister or sister’s spouse have good degree/experience they could get a sponsored work visa, but at only 20 years old I’m guessing it’s too soon to be thinking about that for the older one much less the younger one. Maybe a future option if they are on good career paths.
