I bought my DS-3025. Before I did the interview, the letter asked for another exam because it wasn't updated or they didnt have it. When I did the interview, the officer said I shouldn't need another exam but if you have it, he would take it. I told him I didn't and said it was fine.

Okay great, sounds good! Thanks for sharing :)

Awww! You are really getting overly worried. There are K-1 Applicants here that got approved with few pictures( one went with 4), didn't submit chat history, but took it along for the interview (the CO didn't even look at the history, just pictures).

I have a close friend of mine @o0o, his Fiancée attended her interview on March-6th and she was approved (she has her visa now). They didn't submit chat history along with the petition. The CO didn't look at her chat history she brought during the interview, just asked for her pictures.

I will advise you prepare up-to 10-20 pages of chat history (example, 6 screenshots of whatsapp per page).

You have some evidence already with the petition. Don't attend the interview with numerous chat evidence, instead a handful (important) one.

Don't panic! Just prepare, pray and attend the interview. Everything will work out well for your Good! Amen!

    Congratulations in Advance!

@ChuAni is very much correct; she provided a review here with the interview questions she was asked as well: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?cnty=Nigeria&cty=&dfilter=5&topic=K1+Visa

Everything will be fine; just think of it as, it's already been granted, you're approved. It's just a formal process to cross check the information in the petition via interview and putting a face with the name.

OK thanks a lot.  But my fiance and I didn't meet on facebook.  We were introduced by his cousin, a colleague  of mine and we started talking on phone and whatsapp but he came home visiting after 7months and proposed to me. His immediate relatives all are in the US and his work doesn't give him much time so can that sort of be an answer for my case?  Just robbing minds together?

Since the situation is a little different, I doubt this same question is asked for your interview; the answer you provided sounds good too, so I think you'll be fine. :)

Congratulations!!!!!  Could u plz post ur fiancee's interview  experience  at least for us fellow Naija.  Thank you.

    Thanks!

I actually posted here last week, for March 6th http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?trim=no&cty=&cnty=Nigeria&page=1&dfilter=5&topic=K1 Visa

The last question they asked her I've never seen during my studies of typical K-1 interview questions.

I looked at your timeline.   3 more days to interview...   Good luck to you!     Let us know how everything goes.    Your experience will be very helpful for those that follow in your footsteps.  :)

Edit:   Does Nigeria require evidence of an on going relationship be brought to the interview?

Edit 2:   It seems that they do....

Other Supporting Documents: Bring evidence of the ongoing relationship you have with the applicant, including, but not limited to:

     Photographs

 Chat logs from social media (DO NOT print them in a word document – they MUST be printed directly from the site)

 Phone records showing both phone numbers and duration of call

 Email correspondence (DO NOT print them in a word document)

Approved!! 👏🏽👏🏽 Here’s a quick run down from my fiancée:

1: tell me about your finace.
2: how did u too meet and when.
3: have u met ur fiance in person if yes when?
4: show me the pictures of you together.
5: why did u decide to get married in america and not nigeria.
6: how come u and your fiance met and decided to get married when he has no background or relatives in Nigeria.

Well that was it and then he said congratulations ur visa is approved pls pick up ur packet and passport in 7 working days.

Only took my letter from my employer about pay and position and the I-134, nothing else other than looking at the pics as stated above. So happy!

Yes they do require more evidence just as Ghana to show an ongoing relationship...Those two are the toughest embassies as mentioned, but more so Ghana...  @o0o wishing you well on your interview...We are not too far behind you...

Correct, so yea, we have all the docs lined up, pics, chat, receipts, all that stuff.

Thanks! We're praying for a good outcome; we're viewing it as though she's already approved, it's just a formality to verify or confirm all the information we've provided henceforth. We've been practicing all the various questions I've read for Lagos Nigeria Embassy and other general fiancee visa interview questions I've found on various websites, just in case. At any rate, she'll be prepared and confident of any questions since we've practiced beforehand.

Good news is that I've talked with a few that recently had interviews and were approved as well in Nigeria. One of which only had 1 page of a collage of 6 pics and 1 page of whatsapp screenshots--so only two pages of proof; he petitioned his fiancee. I do feel women beneficiaries may have higher approvals then men in Nigeria but I have no data to prove that. Ghana is super tough though from what I've heard and read...

There has never been an RFE for an 129-f for further proof of relationship because zero proof of relationship is required. Now there are lots and lots of RFEs for proof of in person meeting which has nothing to do with if you are in a real relationship. I'm not saying don't use lots of proof of relationship at the embassy stage when it is required, but zero proof that you care about each other in the slightest is requested or required at the USCIS stage. People seem to forget that the vast majority of people going through the process are not on Visa Journey and just simply follow the directions and the vast majority of 129-fs are approved. It't the American Government it is a bureaucracy at its core. Just follow the directions and you will be fine. I'm speaking purely about the I-129f not about the actual visa application. A lot of people seem to loose sight of the fact that the K-1 is essentially 2 parts. Part 1 which is the I-129f is purely plain and simply to establish that you have met the requirements to submit the visa application. Those requirements being that you are both free to marry, intend to marry, and have met in person in the last two years. Part two at the embassy is when they care if you have a legitimate relationship. Granted everything you submit in part 1 is carried over to part 2, but there is no evidence to suggest that submitting it early is of any benefit or consequence.

definitely hit the nail on the head here. I too did not provide proof of relationship per se, just what was required and about 10 photos showing us together for proof of meeting, along w/ passport stamps and boarding passes. Everything else was proof that we're free to marry and I'm a U.S. citizen. No RFE, interview is soon.

To me it seems frontloading is the defacto way of doing thing b/c everyone throws the term around and usually the couple is approved, but what we dont know is if not frontloading would bare the same result, however it seems most assume 'no', but really we don't know if that's the case. Like saying, putting your socks on before you put your pants on is faster, and we spread the word to everyone, but is it really faster? Maybe not a good analogy but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Hello guys, the Nigerian embassy instructed that the chat logs must be printed from the site. I just mailed my whatsapp log and its over 1300 pages which is a lot to print out.

I'm trying to screenshot the chats from my device and convert into pdf  to make the log concise. Any input on this issue will be appreciated.

dont really need every page, maybe just a few pages per month, but yea screenshots is the way to go. Maybe 6 screenshots per 1 page; 10 pages total. I didnt submit chat logs for my petition, but we have them ready for her interview.

There was thread that covered all of this and was a huge help to us. It included what databases the SS office workers need to use, and how to tell when they have made a mistake (we actually had to cover this with the employee during our second visit to the 2nd office).

We just went through this process in November and ended up using three! SS offices. The first office gave the absolutely not possible after marriage answer. However, the official SS answer was sent to us by submitting the question to the SS national office from their "contact us" link on their .gov website. The most important piece of that reply: "Note: Marriage does not affect an individual with K-1 statuss eligibility to be assigned an SSN, or issued a card.

We suggest that individuals with K-1 status apply for a corrected replacement SSN after marriage to update the SSN record to reflect the married name.

We accept all marriage documents issued within the 50 United States, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, and American Samoa."

Bottom line, expect it to be a struggle but as long as you apply for the card before day 76 of entering the US, their policy is that the k-1 (fiancé or spouse) is entitled to a number.

If we had to do it over again, we'd have gotten the SSN 10 days-ish, after entry (before marriage) and then just taken the marriage license to the office to update the name. Know that the fiancé does not require any "special" verification. If the employee does their job correctly, they should say: "expect the card in 7-10 days". If they give you a sheet saying they need to verify info with homeland, ask to verify the information they entered (this was the problem they had with us) and try again. (The other thread covers this error in detail)

The normal one for £45 will do.

if you have something on your record (no live trace) then you will also need to complete an access to data document.

my report came  in about 8 days.

It’s best to get the ssn 2 weeks after entering apparently, and then changing the name after marriage.

See quote above which contains a reply from “contact us” with SSA concerning when to get SSN. Also, since the I94 is now electronic u no longer have to wait 2 weeks. I’ve heard folks waiting 1-3 days.

I’m happy to say my Fiancé did the interview (Wednesday) at the consulate in Lagos, Nigeria (without his physical results) and was approved but had to bring them to DHL the next day (today) when they were ready. So the wait for the visa is 5 to 10 days. We are sooo happy. Wedding is March 16th.  Thank u all for the support, u kept me sane thru this chaotic process.

congrats! what kinda questions did they ask him? did he happen to notice if they were approving other k1 visas too?

  12. 21 minutes ago, John & Rose said:

Yes!.  She is very happy.  I am not completely sure what they need so I will wait for the letter.  It is a good day!

If it's what you were thinking, you'll need a certified "true" copy of the arrest and/or court filing (charges); if it was dismissed or whatever, then the document(s) showing that as well, certified true copy. I had to do the same thing, even tho it wasnt 100% clear to me within the 129f instructions.

  13. Wanted to provide an update for fellow Nigerian fiance(e)'s concerning the medical exam, enjoy (note, currency is in Naira):

    Medical Exam Info for:
    Dr. Alexandra Ange
    The Consultants Practice
    The Children’s Practice
    25 Raymond Njoku
    Ikoyi
    Lagos

-Medical Exam is done between 8am-10am, M-F no appt needed. If you come after this time, they will turn you away b/c they "close" by 10am, and will not take any new people and tell you to come back the next day. There really wasnt a long line of people waiting by 8am.
-Next, they will give you a bank slip and advise you to go pay at the needed bank close by (100k).
-Once you come back, they give you a form to fill out, with your name, address, etc of you and fiance(e), once complete, they give you a number.
-Your number is called and you go to a room, strip down to undies/panties and do x-ray; once complete, get dressed and back to waiting room.
-They call you again to a different room where they collect your blood and urine, after that they determine if you need vaccines. My fiancee didnt have any, so it was 10k to get the needed vaccines. She had to go to the bank again and pay the additional 10k and back to waiting room until its time for vaccines.
-Next, they call you to another room and you answer questions from doctor and he will check blood pressure and vision.
-After that, you go back to waiting room and then they advise to come back in two weeks (14 days) to get results packet.
