Praying we all get the 3-4 month process! 

Since the US accepts about 1 million legal immigrants each year, and there are generally 261 work days in a year, they're actually approving about 3831 applications every day. Add in how many get processed and denied and it's certainly a tremendous workload. Not really "uplifting" but it does put into perspective that despite the long waits, the people at USCIS are working their butts off to process applications as quickly as they can.

Maybe they're a woman, in which case having family find out you've had premarital sex can be deadly in some cases. Ever heard of honor killings? I don't think a lot of people know how things work in the middle east. It can be very difficult for women in situations like this. Ive read and even heard stories of women being drowned in their family pool by their own father, for having premarital sex. So yes sometimes it is worth risking your health, instead of your life. OP, I know in the middle east pharmacies are a bit different. Is there any way you can go to a pharmacy (one where you or your family isn't known) and explain that you may need to be treated for this? They would probably give you the medication on the spot, without you even having to consult with a doctor.
