You'll have to find a way to meet in a third country then.  Start with a list of countries Moroccans can visit visa free/visa on arrival, and see where you'd be able to go.  There's most probably a Caribbean country that will fit the bill.

The exemption you're talking about is for extreme cases (think someone in an iron lung); while Morocco îs not the most gay-friendly location, plenty of "friends" of the same gender go for tourism, or to meet others.  You won't be asked about your sexual orientation at the border (not applicable though, since you're not allowed to travel there at this time).

Also, please, please, meet each other, ideally a few times, before deciding to marry.  There are some things that you can only see/verify in person.

@Jeanne Adil might be able to give you extra feedback from her experience with the Embassy in Morocco.

Being a widow or married isn’t the issue.  She is a permanent resident for life unless she abandons the green card.  Even if her husband were alive she would be in the same boat-if she’s been out of the US for years, they will consider her to have abandoned her green card unfortunately.

It used to be ~$400, could be slightly more now. Turnaround is as quick as 48 hours.

Free option is to apply for emergency passport appointment due to immediate travel. But I’m not familiar with that process and how successful it is.

I think the entry stamp can be worked around as they will use their own information and they have record of her arrival.  If it’s requested as a document in AOS, I would write a cover letter explaining it.  I don’t think they would hold everything up to make you provide information that they already have

    Don't do it. Reasons:

    1) If the child starts crying one of you may be asked to leave the room, automatically converting your interview into stokes interview.

    2) The interviewer may be annoyed with the child / generally doesn't like kids which can change their mood affecting the interview.

    3) You may lose focus because of the child present and answer things incorrectly.

Having been through a combo interview with wife (who is now a citizen), I would not take a young child. All of your attention needs to be on the 2 parts of the interview.  Just my 2 cents.  Good luck.

Thank you for the information. One of the main goals of reporting the lost/stolen visa and passport to the issuing embassy is to ensure no one else can use it for whatever reason. I emailed the embassy in Colombia but haven't received a response. Most of the information I am finding will allow us to use a copy of the passport and visa. luckily I took a picture of both of them once we received them but I do not have a picture of the entry stamp that was on her visa. If I can get her a military dependent ID card then this whole situation won't be as bad and she's fine with waiting to get her US passport and then traveling back to Venezuela to replace her other passport.

One instruction is to contact the embassy that processed the visa, though it doesn’t really say what happens there.  The only thing is if she has already arrived and her info is in the system, you may not need to provide a physical passport to adjust status at this point.  I didn’t go through that process so I may be wrong-but they already have it digitally and you have pictures of it.  The green card doesn’t depend on a physical passport.  From there, options don’t look super convenient -cross to Mexico by land and get a new passport at an embassy there as she can cross back with a green card alone (by land, not air).  Or wait three years and apply for citizenship and get a US passport.  That’s assuming contacting the embassy that did her visa won’t help.

Glad it ended well in the end.  The N400 for my husband was pretty upbeat and friendly.  When we went for the interview to remove conditions, he seemed very gruff at first.  We settled in for a lot of grilling.  But he just said, “you’re good.  You’re approved.”  Then he complimented us on the the good documentation.  It is funny how they can shift personality so quickly

They really only care about the outbound ticket for visitors, not immigrants.  In our experience there was not a question about the ticket type, and I don’t know of anyone else that’s been asked.  It’s not unusual for someone to arrive to activate their visa and return to finish up loose ends in their home country.  With the visa, your spouse can travel in and out again so I don’t see a problem or a reason it would be looked at.

If you are working for your overseas employer and money is paid to your home bank account you are okay if you aren’t doing anything you couldn’t do from home (on site visits, meeting with clients).  People on this forum sometimes confuse work of any kind with US-based employment.

Please reconsider if drinking has a place in your life.  More deportations happen due to lapses in judgment by people who can’t drink and stay in control.  If this works out okay, consider it your one free pass.  You can’t have another without establishing a pattern.

I disagree to an extent with other posters.  Having trusted people and offered a helping hand, I found that the criminal element is often that way by nature.  When someone is charged for such a serious crime, unless they’re extraordinarily unlucky, they weren’t caught on the first crime they committed.  Also, they tend to not know another life or have another social circle.  So they get right back into it.

I know some people do turn their lives around.  But I generally don’t buy the idea of a drug manufacturer with a heart of gold.  I wouldn’t put any faith in him having repented if he lied to you about it.  People in the drug business tend tend to lie a lot.  Part of turning your life around is taking responsibility for your actions.  If he won’t tell his fiancée, he’s not taking responsibility for it. You also can’t have any idea of what else he’s lying about, details big or small.

You could read him the riot act, but it probably would do as much good as telling a wall.

This was exactly the feeling I had moving to my new home with my shiny new spouse visa.  No issues with my flights to the US, and my POE process was fast and hassle-free.  Then on the last leg of my trip, while our plane was preparing for take-off, a passenger 🤮 in the plane!  We all had to disembark as the plane had to be cleaned and disinfected.  Our 1-hour flight was delayed for more than an hour.  The whole time I was thinking, "It was too good to be true.  I knew something would happen!"

It’s natural to have anxiety.  After all the documentation and interview, it feels like you’re in for another interview or someone else to make a decision on your life.  They aren’t there to re-interview you or second guess your visa.  They just verify you’re holding a valid visa and initiate the green card.  They may take you aside for some extra processing.

How long has she been out of work?  Is she looking?  If she seems uninterested in working, I will be unlike the others and say your instincts may be right.  I have seen this problem before and there’s never a good outcome.  If it’s been a very short time, that’s one thing but if she seems to be fine letting you pay for everything, she may never look.

As far as another wife-no one said being single is bad.  At least for a while.  I would just take of myself first and not worry about marrying until you have found someone you like.

bakphx1 got a reaction from Shane & Len in Oath Ceremony - Post Covid
We went to the ceremony a few months ago in Phoenix. It was really only about 2 hours from walking in the courthouse to having the certificate in hand.  That said, we added time on for doing a passport application right there to take advantage that someone was there (not always available in every city).   There were also voter registrars (optional). That could add time.  I think 2-3 hours would be a good timeframe to work with.
