Congrats on your approval though.
Least someone has one faster than K-1. Lots of us live in states that do not. Shrugs. I have probably another 9 or more months to interview. LOL
Cleveland is I guess known for being pretty good/quick. I guess the Columbus office isn't nearly as good. The only torture is that the lawyer got the letter today, it was in Informed Delivery for us but didn't show up. Happens sometimes with our address, should be delivered tomorrow at least. Good luck on your adjustment.

Well we had the interview on the 9th, afterward the lady asked us if we understood how the conditional status worked and then handed us a form saying she reserved the right to review the packet. I guess the Cleveland office typically does interviews in the morning, recheck packet in the afternoon and approve. The 797 notify us of approval was in the mail today and dated for the 9th. So now just waiting for the actual card. Kind of happy with how much faster this was than the K1 nightmare.

Confirmation, Interview May 9th. Now for the minor freak out and making sure we have all our papers in a row. The one good thing is her interview for the K1 was back in November so her medical from that should still be good for this round. Meeting with the lawyer next week to go over everything and make sure we are ready for everything. Sad part is he said they used to waive the interview for a K1 Visa but stopped recently.

I suspect we may have the interview letter in the mail today. Something from USCIS showing in informed delivery for the day. Fingers crossed, would love to have her get the green card before the EAD/AP gets finished. I know she would like to be able to start hunting for a job here with the spring graduates.

Anyone else having any oddities with the USCIS tracking site? I can track the EAD and AP, but the I-485 track results in the system spitting back user-defined error when I enter it. Validation Error is what it says but it worked a few weeks ago.

As an FYI for anyone looking for a drivers license. The wife was able to get her license renewed as PPR (Pending Permanent Residency) using the I-797 from our Biometric appointment, so at least for Ohio you just need the Passport, Marriage Certificate, Social Security Card if you have it, I-797 for your I-485 or Biometric Appointment and boom you have your license. They even gave her a full 4 year license.

Well figured I would pop in here and say hello. We were a part of the April K1 group.
We got the NOA1 for everything on the 25th of January, did our Biometrics on the 23rd of February. Tracker has never updated and just sitting in the dark. Would love to see the EAD & AP soon so she can get her drivers license back. Being the only one working or driving gets a bit old.

I understand wanting the peace of mind, but that extra $1,000. If you have it, then that is great peace of mind.
We have the funds available to do the paperwork through the lawyer and it makes both of us feel better to have the lawyer who knows this stuff work on it. I have several friends who are lawyers and recommended him to me as the best guy in the area for this sort of thing. She has had issues with her USCIS paperwork before a couple of times so having the lawyer work on it just makes her much more at ease. Keeping her happy and low stress is definitely worth the $1000.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all on here. My hope is that all that are waiting get thru the wait as soon as possible and are reunited with their love.
Has anyone started there AOS yet?
Heading to our Lawyer tomorrow to start the paperwork. In talking to him it sounds like the AOS has changed slightly. They used to waive the interview for K1 applications for Green Card and may not be doing so anymore. We will take the pile of stuff to him and let him do it all. Easier that way and a lot safer to have him double check everything since he has been at this for 20+ years. Total charge for what I have to pay the US Government and him is only $2200 so I am just going to do it. Peace of mind is worth it for me.

Yes the passport has to be mailed from Stockholm Sweden to me in Norway. Probably will take more than 2 days, as I have been tolled by the embassy that they use regular mail services, and it is the week before Christmas. Literally the slowest week of the year for mail to be send in Norway
Does issues mean that the passport has left the embassy? Or does it mean that the passport is ready to be picked up by the mail service at the embassy.Issued means that the Embassy has printed the Visa and it is ready for pickup by the mail service. The CEAC website doesn't update beyond that. If you had to use ustraveldocs.com for Norway like my fiance did for Nepal that website is actually better for tracking the Visa/Passport. We were able to track based on her passport number where it was and that told us when it was available for pickup before she got any message to come pick it up (Nepal does everything through the main bank in the country).

Had my embassy interview Nov, 29th and got approved that day. Was tolled my passport would be mailed whiting 10 days, that did not happen.
Today the CEAC finally changed from Ready for interview, to Administrative Processing. It also says "If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days." Anyone know if that information is reliable, will they actually mail it within 2 days???It always goes to Administrative Processing right before it switches to Issued. Odd that it took them so long after the interview to go through that though. When CEAC switches to Issued then you should expect delivery of the Visa in that two day window provided they mail them back to you in Norway.

Thank you, I can't wait. Just trying to find a flight that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, lol
If you can tolerate the slight wait it always seems like Tuesday/Wednesday are a lot cheaper flight days.

Well newest wrinkle. We went to do the name change on her existing SSN and of course they said 4-5 weeks to process with Homeland Security since of course she doesn't have her name in the system that way. Hopefully that goes smoothly. Will talk with the lawyer about order of operations now for the AOS and other paperwork. Wedding was on the 8th and we got back from the mini-honeymoon yesterday. Hopefully everything is going smoothly for everyone else.

Hi Everyone,
Congrats to all of you who are already in the country and working towards your AOS, EADs, and all that good stuff. We are still stuck between the NOA2 (Oct 30th) and NVC. I've been calling the NVC twice a week for the past month. This morning, the lady at NVC had me read the first line of my NOA2 which states "The above petition has been approved, and forwarded on to the listed consulate." She explained, that USCIS has forwarded it on to the consulate in Austria and NVC would not be receiving it. Has anyone encountered this? It seems odd to me, as I've not ever read about this happening to anyone else. We are going to call both the consulate and USCIS to try and get some answers, but I just wanted to reach out to see if anyone had seen this before, and to see if others had the same language on their NOA2s.
Thanks for your help!!!
That isn't the proper procedure for an I-129F, yours might have gotten handled as a I-130 instead. You may need to start an inquiry via a Tier 2 at USCIS or Supervisor at the NVC. There is a chance your paperwork got accidentally sent to the NRC instead and archived.
This thread had several that got sent to the NRC instead of the NVC by accident or whatever.

Hey all. This may seem like a really stupid question but for those who have chosen to change your surname when getting married are you doing this straight away or would this interfere with the the next part of the process because its different names? Lol i know its a silly question.
Process is this:
1) Get your Social Security Card Issued in the name on your passport2) Get Married
3) Take Marriage Certificate to Social Security to Change Name
4) Use New Social Security Card with the changed last name to get US ID you need
5) Apply for AOS/EAD etc with both documents, the marriage certificate will cover the Passport Name vs US Documents name issue for the authorities
5a) Depending on your countries rules you might be able to get your passport updated with your new name while here in the States through your countries US Embassy or local Consulate.
I haven't met with our lawyer yet to know if it is better to get the passport thing done first or not, but generally the US understands the hassle of name change and since the Marriage certificate is a part of the process and they have a section for Maiden name you should be ok.

Well no luck on the driver's license renewal yesterday. For a K1 visa you have to be married first in Ohio, so she will have to retake her written and driving exams. We were hoping it would just be a written exam retake. If the visa stuff hadn't taken so long she would have been fine to renew. Unfortunately 9 months meant her license expired 3 months after she left and since we only have 6 months to get it renewed without a retest we just ran out.
We also learned that a 5 hour day on the go after just arriving may be too much so taking it easier today. Just a trip to the courthouse and framer then back home for us today. Enough work just getting her bags unpacked and stuff hung up in the closet as is. -

Quick question. My fiancée cousin would be filing the affidavit form for me. So only he has to fill the form or my fiancée has to fill a separate one too?
and what documents do i need from both from both with the form (if applicable)
I assume you mean i-134, both need to fill it out.

Well got her from the airport today. POE in Detroit is evidently really easy now. She didn't go through any secondary checks and was out in around 30 minutes. There were no flight ahead of her but she was a on a full 747-400 from South Korea so it did take a little bit. They just opened her packet right there at the booth, checked it and removed the form they needed and sent her on her way. Happy to have her back, glad I brought her car instead of my little BRZ, her bags were not small or light.

Just hope that you get the NOA2 before December 9!!! This is completely a bizarre year. What else can possibly happen?
Yeah, just what everyone waiting wanted. Hopefully they get back up in time for us to file our AOS paperwork. Should have her back home and probably hiding under the comforter in about 24 hours.

When I filed and looked at the site, said 3.5 months (~110 days) for approval. Who knew 186 days we'd still be waiting. 🤔
The only safe bet lately seems to be add 14 days to the previous months numbers and add that again for each month past. The spike in time has been crazy.

yes, there are several other posters who are being held up by the CSC-NVC transition. I'm one of them too, with approval of 9/20 and still waiting to here from NVC.
Call the NVC and have them track it. There is a batch from around then that got sent to the NRC instead of the NVC.

I just couldn't not do it, it was 1/3 of the nornal prices I pay... even if I have to reschedule it, it will be cheaper.. but I could use that extra money lol so I took the risk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
We did the same thing, we scheduled the flight for 3-4 weeks after the interview. She land next Wednesday here. Got a good ticket deal for air miles.

I think our interview was about a month from the notice. And yes we got the GC before the EAD or AP was ever even processed. It just depends on the particular offices.
