Congrats to you all!!! @CopperChem when did you get your approval? I've been MIA lately so i guess I missed the announcement
We got it on Tuesday evening. Now the two weeks until I can call NVC. But, the light at the end is close. I think she is planning to go to the jeweler soon for the wedding band she wants for me. Decided her rings would be from the US and she wanted mine to be from Nepal.

This just in... I wish that my lovely Roma had not gone to bed right before I received word... we've been approved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is no emoticon here that expresses how happy I feel!!!! :)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
"On October 5, 2017, we approved your Form I-129F, Petition for Fiance(E), Receipt Number WAC1790314257. We will mail your approval notice. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address."
I was on the phone when we got our alert at like 9:50pm EST. She didn't believe me until I forwarded her the e-mail from USCIS. I think she thought I was messing with her.
Congrats. -

Hey, congrats on your NOA2!
Also good luck to @krizia and @Tatiana&D.S. with their interviews tomorrow/today... Philippines time is always confusing to me
Today. They are a day ahead, I only know this because my fiance will start thursday morning shortly.

are these RFE's usually due to not enough evidence of the relationship?
Or what can these be about?
RFE is for any problems with the paperwork. In our case we sent in her court papers for the divorce and forgot to send the divorce certificate. There was one person who forgot to check a box on their 129F application. So really anything at all. If you send in passport stamps and don't send in the bio page you will often get an RFE.
It is really just saying there is something they need that is missing from the packet. -

Thank you for your message.
Why do you say « don’t get too sad with RFE? » I don’t have one!
This whole process is so tough... I really hope I get something this week...
Apology punctuation error, I meant in the case of my fiance and I with the RFE we finally got approval at 170 days. We got an RFE at day 147.
Hopefully in your case there isn't an RFE and they just will get you the NOA2 in the next week or so. -

Hope my journey is just as smooth
You are Canadian, I imagine one of the questions they ask is, Are you sure you want to move to the US?

155 days today
Don't get too sad with RFE we finally got approved at 170. The early range lately seems to be 140 days for those lucky few. But more typical has been closer to 160 if no RFE is issued. So you might still get it this week. Just feel sorry for the poor couple from February who still haven't heard a thing and are way out past 200 days now I believe.

Ok semi-unique question here. My fiance already had a SSN from when she was here on her F1 Visa and when she got her OPT card. When she lands under her K1 visa do we need to get a new SSN for her since that card is tagged for work authorization only? I want to make sure we follow the procedure properly in particular because of her plans to change her name after we marry. I wasn't sure if they just change the existing SSN they have assigned to her or have to issue a new one since she is now a K1 not an F1/OPT recipient.

Awesome!!
For those who don't know about Bronner's, it's the premier Christmas store, located in Frankenmuth Mich. A destination that everyone needs on their bucket list.
Ooops, gotta go, paging flight "Ny Wa Twee (913) Hong Kong to Manila"
Thank you and yes when I showed her their website especially their personalized ornaments she went a little crazy. She had me order 4 that were either our names or my last name and 2017 since she plans to change it. So there is now a pile of ornaments for our first Christmas tree together. I am under strict orders to only get the tree and lights setup, she wants to arrange the ornaments herself when she gets here.

So me and my mom fill out the same thing?? There is no separate form?
Thank you 😊
Each of you need to fill out a separate I-134. With a co-sponsor you need two complete sets of documents.

They received our RFE response Sept 13...no NOA2 as of yet....Total BS
Have you called recently? I was an RFE after and got response today. Like I said when I got the RFE, they had flagged it on the 1st of September but didn't mail until the 11th. So it could be there and not updating properly.

Finally got the e-mail on the NOA2 today. Good day today, all of her ornaments from Bronners arrived and I was nervous since she had me put down 2017 as the year we got married on several of the ornaments.

We're of the same timeline.. ours was receieved September 22th. Have you taken any further steps as of now? Like contacting the senator?
Senator's office gave me the same non-answer I got from the Tier 1 phone people. I called last Friday and got a Tier 1 who was new and had no idea what to even do to lookup the website results, then I got a tier 2 who was rude and said the tracker was accurate and didn't want to help.
I will try again later this week to talk to Tier 2 and hopefully get a good one again. I am 2/3 for good nice tier 2 people.- LabOz and fatima& abdi

Is it me or our house is getting more quiet lately? Of course weekends have an effect on that, but it's Monday again
I guess people are busy moving on with the process and taking care of things. And the ones still waiting, 5-6 months after filling, are probably not in the best mood to see others progressing.
So let's hope for a good week around here. Good luck to the ones that are having the medical this week, like @Salty2305 or their interviews, like @AnJ Co (have a great trip tonight... or tomorrow, not sure about the time), @krizia and @Y&P. Hope lots of you get your NVC# and cases moving to the Embassy, and even more NOA2'S, because... About time!
Fingers crossed
This would be an accurate statement at this point. When we finally get NOA2 I will probably be back. But frustration has hit a pretty high level. Pretty much ruled out Thanksgiving at this point and praying for Christmas.

Hi all, unsure if anyone follows my case but tomorrow will be 174 days since our NOA1 on April 11th, with no NOA2. It will also have been 6 months since April, so I'm really hoping to get some answers. Is anyone else still waiting for NOA2?
Still waiting also, NOA1 was April 17th, RFE returned to USCIS on September 19th.

Right?! What's ironic is that I'm actually from New Hampshire and mail from my parents gets here way quicker! You might have a valid point there!
The amazing part is my RFE took 5 days to reach Ohio. So they had to have done something strange for it to be an 8 day journey.

Got our official NOA2 letter today (yay!), eight days after approval. Since Laguna Nigel is about an hour and a half from SD, I'm convinced it was delivered via canoe and then walked to my house by a sloth! But that means I'm 8 days into the NVC wait I guess!
They probably mailed it to New Hampshire first then sent it all the way back to you in SD. That or delivery via snail.

LOL never had Cincinnati chili.
It has a different taste for sure. Its either the cheese or the sauce. Maybe a combination of both. If you ever get down this way stop at Imos Pizza and try one.
St Louis Style Pizza is because of the cheese, it is an abomination called Provel. It is certainly an acquired taste, even my colleague who grew up there isn't a fan of it.

Thats the thing, my major is Quality and more Administrative focused.
when I say Industrial engineer everyone things about production lines and manufacturing, but in reality Ive been doing schedules for constructions, budget control for a green power company.
So I dunno, maybe have a second option in case the Engineer thing doesnt work for me
Still a need for that sort of thing in the US. Every manufacturing plant is going to have a scheduler, quality control department, all sorts of niches. I am sure you can find a good translation here.

I think Im gonna do something useful in this time, like maybe study for a "job" thats gonna be helpful for when Im allowed to really work. Im an Industrial Engineer, but I think my job wont translate well and I wont get a job being that. So maybe I will study to be a hairdresser. I dunno this is me just imagining right now. At this point who knows?
Industrial Engineer will translate over just fine. The US has plenty of manufacturing and several US Universities offer it as a major.
I think my fiance was looking into what charities/non-profits are in town and find one to go work at a couple times a week as a volunteer. Allows her to get out of the house and meet some people in town, might help her when she can work. -

Pretty understandable! I don't think any of us are happy with the fact we have to have our lives put on hold... once again
We can always hope they pick up the pace, but given the experience with NOA2, better to prepare for the longest wait and hope for a shorter one
Oh I know, she just has gotten fed up with her father at this point. Keeps giving her flack about the fact that according to him she has never worked just always been in school (not true). Basically just being grumpy about all that he has spent on her education. For her the job is more to make a point to him than anything.

For what I've seen lately EAD and AP are taking longer now, around 5 months (kind of a similar thing to what has been happening to NOA2), while I'm not completely sure about AOS, but it seems to be around 9-10 months minimum right now
I am not sure my fiance is going to be happy about that. She had her OPT card to start working here in the states back in February, lost it when she had to go home. Waiting 6 months to work after having spent the time and energy on her MBA will drive her a bit nuts.

Is the AP a one time only use? or its like a "passport" to go in an out as long as it isnt expired?
https://www.uscis.gov/greencard/while-application-is-pending
https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/after-green-card-granted/international-travel-permanent-resident
The short answer is that AP is a permanent thing, but you need to get your I485 finished first. If you try to leave before the I485 is completed you need to get an emergency authorized I-131 done to come back otherwise they consider the 485 to have been abandoned.

Well no luck this week on the RFE to NOA2. Will have to keep my fingers crossed for next week I guess.

I129F April 2017 filers -Part 2
in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports

Thank you both. The funny part is that her engagement ring arrived after she had to go home. So she still teases me that I didn't actually ask her since the ring is sitting at my house rather than on her finger. I keep teasing her that I will come to the airport with flowers and the ring to see if I can make her blush. I have been threatened repeatedly for this.
