Hello friends,
I want to share my story. Some of you old folks may remember me from 2017. Filed Vawa in Jan 2017 by myself. I was begging to the lawers to help me, I was ready to give them money for just a hope, but no one took my case, (NY) because I had not enough proof for being together with my exhusband. I filed by myself in January 2017 and after 4,5 years got approved. All I want to say is don't lose hope. If I got approved with my weak case, everyone can. Timeline:
January 2017 - Sent Vawa.
May 2019 - Sent 485/765 (got EAD and started living life)
June 2021 - Vawa approved.
September 2021 - Fingerprints
April 2022 - Medicals drop off (have only 1 dose of Covid Vaccine)
April 14, 2022 - Green Card Approved.
Don't lose hope.

I had not much proof of living together. Submitted almost everything what I had to, never submit a psychological report or background check.

Wow congratulations! 🎊🍾🎉🎈 at a point I thought my case was weak as well. But it ended in praise! I hope someone here visible or not will be encouraged today. Nothing is impossible! Just believe and stay positive. There’s a great ENERGY behind staying positive. Mine went from March 2017 approved March 2019 then GC March 2020! Looking like I MARCHED into victory!!!😀

Never give up. Don’t let anyone tell you that your case won’t be approved, even your lawyer . Fight for your case until you get approved. My case can be an encouragement to someone, I am in immigration proceedings since 2017, got 204 c fraud on my I-130, I-360 office sent me a 7 pages NOID which was my only hope, responded to NOID January 31. I worked on it with my lawyer and provided new proofs and my case is approved in less than 2 months. Can’t wait to get my green card finally.
Thanks to this forum, many people helped me here how to write a winning personal declaration. Thank you all. To God all the glory Case Was Approved
On March 23, 2022, we approved your Form I-360, Petition for Amerasian, Widow(er), or Special Immigrant, Receipt Number EACxxxxxxxxxxx. We sent you an approval notice. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your approval notice by April 7, 2022, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Fill out I-864W (simple form, it's just basic info about you, check box part 2, 1.d., sign) and bring it with you.
My guess is that they've recently changed I-485 due to I-944 no longer being a thing, so they started requiring I-864W again if you're not required to file an I-864.

If you're worried about using your original name for work purposes you'll be fine to do so. There's always a spot on applications if you have a name change. And since its your original name, most likely your GC later on will be that name as well ( don't quote me on that) but from what I see ead names and green card names always match up.

Hey there. Not a lawyer or anything, but if it was me I would do 2 things. 1st - contact ombudsman office, since your current card expires pretty soon and you don't want them to spend months fixing this. I remember there was a checkmark on their application that said "clear USCIS error", which is your case. I would file 2 applications with them - online and in paper mail, because I filed mine twice and 1st time online worked while 2nd time they sent me a paper to fill and sign in regular mail.
2nd, when you are done fixing this issue definitely contact congressman and/or ombudsman again to inquire about I360 processing time. It's way outside of normal, they should be able to help you accelerate.
If you're not familiar on how to contact congressman/ombudsman just google it, there's a ton of info. Congressman you contact by phone, ombudsman via online application and/or mailed paper form.
