Today I went grocery shopping without a mask for the first time  in a LONG time.  Publix no longer requires masks and I am fully vaccinated so I went and most were still masked but some of us were not.  Unfortunately I still have to wear a mask at work.  But life seems to be getting back to normal.  After many months with no jobs I now have 2 cases and work 60 hours a week 7 days a week!

From a business perspective I'm not understanding the move, you're banning a guy, a very popular guy who had 81 Million followers on his account, that's 81 Million less people viewing ad content.. Not to mention the 71 Million Trump voters who will close their accounts, many resulting in millions of less people viewing ad content across the entire platform.. Trump's not dangerous and they know it, this was done purely for political reasons, perhaps to win Democrats over so they don't strip them of section 230
 
I see these account suspensions as a violation of Free Speech, not just with Trump but other conservatives who had their social media accounts terminated.. I predict the U.S. Supreme Court is going to have big First Amendment case before them this year,  the only remaining branch of Government that can save us.
 

If you consider voter base as a cult, and if you believe the numbers in this election, Biden's cult is much bigger than Trump's is..  And if you voted for Biden, you're part of the cult.
 
Aside from using political labels against a party who don't like, Republican lawmakers supported Trump because they supported his agenda, which has proven to be the greatest and most successful agenda since Ronald Reagan.

We can't trust the people who were in charge of election security, and we can't trust the courts, including the Supreme Court. The only person we can trust is Donald Trump.

I kinda think "x is not my President" has been going on for generations. There were probably 19th century carriages with "Madison be not mine President" pamphlets attached to the rear.

If the point here is that a lot of people said Trump is "not my President", cool I guess. I don't know how it has any bearing on reality though. The fact is that Trump IS the President, and will continue to be the President until noon on January 20th.

Not sure where you get "illegitimate." I absolutely hated that Trump won in 2016, but I never considered his win "illegitimate." Just because your guy lost doesn't make the other guy's win illegitimate.

Well there's a couple of problems that this temporary deferment creates, especially if an employer should choose to participate. And as you well know the majority of Americans likely haven't got 'money to set aside' and still continue on counting for SS to be there when they retire. Would it be nice to get extra money in pay? Sure. But if it means a big chunk has to come out next year, I'd rather not. It also creates an unnecessary hassle for employers to figure it all out. Most economists and tax people argue the idea is just terrible all around no matter who suggests it. And while it is 'temporary' there's no guarantee it's actually temporary. Now you know he's said he wants to make it permanent, as if it's some really great selling feature or something. Constitutionally, as I understand it, he cannot make it a permanent thing - which is why the EO on this subject is temporary. BUT, if Congress continues to do nothing to address it, he could in theory just keep making 'temporary deferments' in new EOs. Who would stop it, exactly? And this will, as mentioned before have serious consequences for SS. It's been kicked down the can so much, that a solution should be found. Not making rash and unhelpful decisions.

.    You have a good point about the election not just being for the president.  I have to check and see what local amendments we might have.  I remember I was passionate about voting in the election to do away with greyhound racing in Florida.  I need to see what they have this year.  I have just been so frustrated with the lack of a good candidate for president this year.  Like I said Trump has been good for the economy and may well continue to do so.  But there is the issue of the payroll tax.  That scares me.  And there is healthcare.  I keep hearing he wants to repeal Obamacare but he doesn't show a viable option.  Now Obamacare is NOT good - at least not for me.  I pay a high premium and have an astronomical deductible .  But I am on a lot of prescription meds and it does cover most of the cost of those for me.  Without Obamacare I would be lost.  I am an independent contractor so insurance through work is out of the question.  So in those respects Trump scares me.  Biden scares me.   Third party candidates are a waste of a vote in my opinion.  It is a very frustrating election.  

Death rate going down is indeed a good thing. None arguing that but cases skyrocketing and deaths going up is not a good thing.
 
Nobody is peddling fearmongering. All anyone has said is we need to do whatever is possible to slow the spread and bring deaths down, without crashing the economy.  Not sure why some of you think that is a hostile idea.

Its kinda of self explanatory.  Things have not gone up since the 23rd when fla had 173 deaths. Here are some highlights for you. Like I said earlier I agree with you 95% of the time just not on this issue. Hopefully we can disagree respectfully. I am thinking of changing my screen name to " some people"

If that is what is necessary.  I feel like it might be necessary to wear a mask until a vaccine is available.  Perhaps things will get better before then.  But it is bad here in Palm Beach County right now and I am not in any hurry to die.

Let's crash a couple of airliners everyday, for months, yeah, don't worry, pilots and planes are kinda safe, working on it. Only a few thousands deaths a week, less than the Corona could be our slogan. Fly my airline, special discount for retirees going to Florida.
 
Don't worry, schools will reopen, and the expected death rate is only 0.02% says Madame DeVos.  Who cares about 14,000 student lives?  They must have been sick, or fragile, anyway. Too bad it was your kid.

I'm with you.  I don't even want to talk to people anymore.  I start work on Wednesday and I am scared.  Had a training today and we had masks on but my boss was right up in my face without a mask!  I know it typically doesn't affect young healthy people too badly.  But like you said, these people give it to those of us who are at risk.  

I have requested my mail-in ballot.  I am not going to stand in line to vote with the coronavirus being so bad right now,  If I were not given this opportunity I would not vote.  I have to protect myself first.

Almost 9,000 new cases today in Florida.  They did close down all bars in the state.  I am starting work very soon and am very worried.  

Sometimes we don't agree on a lot of things.  But I am with you here.  It is ridiculous that these protestors have just taken a part of the city.  I say either go in and take it back.  Or cut all services to that area - no electricity, no wifi no water.  See how long it lasts.  I am all for peaceful protests and I encourage them.  But this is ridiculous!  For once Trump and I agree on something!

No that is not my only reason to hate Trump - although it is certainly reason enough.  I will go all the way back to 2016 when he was campaigning for president.  These are things I personally heard him say on television:  I want to put a stop to all Muslims coming into this country.  The people coming into this country illegally are murderers and rapists.  If you want to just grab a woman by the *&#*#.  These things show you what kind of person he is right there.  Oh and I forgot - he wanted all Muslims in this country to have to register for something.  Basically he wanted a listing of all Muslims in this country.  As a Muslim, that did it for me right there.  He got in office and found he couldn't do these things.  But he wanted to.  He is simply not a good person and I don't want him as my president.  I give him good marks for having a good economy for a while.  But that is it.  
I know many of you on here love Trump.  That is your right.  I won't change your mind - you won't change mine.  But I am glad we can have these discussions.  And we can all have our final say at the polls.  

I am happy to answer.  I won't even go back three years.  And I will give him points for having a really good economy.  I will give credit where credit is due.  But in current times he has totally botched the handling of the coronavirus pandemic.  He mishandled it in the beginning and he is mishandling it now.  Florida and other states are reporting record numbers of new cases.  And still he says it is "dying out".  He holds a mass rally in the middle of a pandemic in a state and county where they have increasing states.  If he had acted earlier perhaps many people would not have died.  But he made light of it right up until we had a disaster on our hands and had to shut down.  
 
And then there is the protests going on in this country right now.  What we needed was a president to bring us all together.  Trump is of the "us vs. them" mentality.  The protesters are looters, thugs, and low-life.  He used force on peaceful protesters in DC so he could go have a photo op.  He could have used this opportunity to help heal the nation and bring us back together.  But all he is doing is pushing us farther apart.
 
Ok those are a couple of things.  But what I really don't like is him as a person and as a president.  He LIES about everything.  Little things, big things, it doesn't matter, he just lies.  If he said it was daylight I would have to go outside and confirm it myself.  He is a racist.  Look at him last night calling the coronavirus "kung flu".  I don't want a president who uses racial slurs.
