This whole process is INSANE... It drained every energy out of me.  But the embassy has the final say, I suppose... Lucikly, the only thing they asked for was another sponsor and we have that so. I am confident that it will be good enough. It’s been a long long long journey... We can finally enjoy Christmas and new year together. FINALLY.

depends on what it is supporting documents FOR. i had proof of ongoing relationship stuff (not needed at this stage for the k1  but i included) which included some phone bills, a couple of messenger screenshots (we dont use it much, we live on the phone instead, hence the phone records), photos, etc.

Good! I hope you get the interview date soon. My case started in September 2017. His interview was last Friday. Unfortunately, the embassy didn’t want to include my child support as part of my income so he needs another sponsor by Wednesday. Very frustrating. Child support was accepted by USCIS and NVC but the embassy turned him down. Luckily my friend is vouching for us, so my fingers are crossed. My journey is almost over but good luck to you. Be patient and you will get there soon too.

Thank you for all this info!! I already have all the beneficiary's documents and they were translated in his country by one of the Sworn translators on the list that we were given to choose from. We have everything now, thank God. So all I was concerned with was proving my domicile and the supporting document thing. I'll send a copy of my rent payments and utility bill payments.  thank you sooo much.

(& also luckily my husband has lived at the same address since that age so we lucked out 😅 wheeeeeew)

You’re welcome and just FYI, I didn’t submit social security earning statement. It was not necessary. However, don’t forget your beneficiary’s police certificate. I forgot to submit that and my case got deleted few weeks. Again, just FYI.

For all rhe translations, I used immitranslate.com they are reliable and accepted by USCIS and NVC. Plus, it’s fast and affordable. Incase you need it.

In the meantime your beneficiary should gather informations for the DS260. Review the questions and gather information. One of the question was like listing all the address my hubby was living since the age of 7. Which dates far back!!

That is if you wrote something on the last section, additional information colum, you would want to support it. In my experience, you don’t have to worry about that. I submitted everything that was listed above and no other evidence was required. If you submit all the things that they SPECIFICALY ask for are met, then you wouldn’t need it. Just make sure you have all the supporting documents that ask for as listed. Then you shouldn’t have a problem.

I understand the anxiety for I’ve been there too myself and you want everything to be perfect. Just make sure you have everything they ask as stated clearly on the list. If you have other information that may help your case, then you would support it under “additional information.” I hope this helps.

One example of additional information (other supporting document) in my case was the letter of employment because I started work last year mid July. So I had my boss write a letter with my annual income and signed.

For the proof of domicile, I just submitted my utility bills for the past 6 months and my bank statements, and they were accepted.

    Good luck!

You mean the NVC cover sheet?
If so, everything on Part 2 is the beneficiary; everything on Part 3 is the Petitioner.

no you are filing your taxes and sending the W7 for ITIN with them/ tax time is the only time you can file for the ITIN
do your taxes ,  list spouse as that ,  and enclose the W7 with the proofs of marriage and his birth (or other ID)

means they will process your return after you send it in with  the W7 and supporting documents
BTW the W 7 is suppose to be filled out (wet signature) by the foreign spouse so you do not have much time for him to mail it to you / he can download it from IRS site

No because the filing deadline is 4/16/18.  Your return will be considered filed on the day you mail it

Double check all the information on your NOA2.  Make sure the case number is correct.  If so, then just call it a day.  There was once a guy here whose csse still said "recieved" for his I-129F after his wife had obtained citizenship.   The online system is not the most reliable.

You don't need to worry about the alien worker petition. You will need to select 1.a "I am the petitioner. I filed or am filing for the immigration of my relative."

Yes, he can work upon arrival to the US as a green card holder. No need for additional petitions in order to work.

ashcashbananas reacted to pushbrk in TAXES
There is a lot of misinformation about this subject along with misinterpretation of requests.  The affidavit of support requires information from three past returns, but only requires you send one.  Whether three will ever need to be SEEN by anybody is either circumstantial or Consulate specific.  If it's India, send or take all three.  Even then, when sending affidavits of support anytime from now for the rest of the year, be prepared for the Consulate to want to see the 2017 tax return at interview, no matter how many you send in now.

To be specific, copies of complete tax returns including W2 or 1099 as applicable OR, OR, OR "Tax Return Transcripts" without W2 or 1099 (or with) are what are requested.  You sign the affidavit of support under penalty of perjury, which applies to the supporting documentation as well.

All that said, a Consular Officer may request anything they decide they want to see, whether technically required or not.  The Consular Officer requesting something is the only technicality of consequence here.

If the worry is having filed late, getting transcripts will make it less obvious, and for their purposes, the likely won't notice or care.  Showing three years of income is much stronger.  Transcripts are easy to get online in a few minutes.
