    Hello,

This is a copy of the list of items you need as of April 2017.  Knightsbridge emailed me this confirmation after I booked my medical this week, thought it may be helpful to others preparing their documents!

You are required to bring the following for each person having a medical examination:

Passport or UK Driving Licence (photo card not paper licence) We do NOT accept copies of ID
4 X Identical Passport style photos UK or US size (we will accept UK or US sized photographs)
    3.       ACRO Police certificate (or a copy) dated within 12 months for anyone 16 years of age & over (if your police certificate is more than one page long please advise Knightsbridge Doctors ahead of your medical as you may need additional time with the Doctor. If you fail to tell us ahead of time you may be asked to come back to go over this for an additional fee).

Vaccination records - Please provide a vaccination record for the panel to look over on the day to advise if any further vaccines are needed.
Completed medical questionnaire (from the US Embassy link above) must fill out FULL UK address. Please also provide FULL US intended address
A Letter/Email from the embassy/NVC to confirm your case number and visa category
            7.       Summary of medical history from GP (NOT full medical records) and reports covering any medical conditions, disabilities, and prior serious illnesses you have been treated for or anything ongoing. This is a new requirement and may not yet be added to the checklist online or the US EMBASSY LONDON website. We will keep your medical on hold if you do not have it with you on the day of the appointment. Ask your GP for a Patient Summary.

            8. If you wear glasses or contact lenses please bring them along to the appointment

PLEASE NOTE: ALL MEDICALS ARE VALID FOR SIX MONTHS ONLY UNLESS ADVISED OTHERWISE BY KNIGHTSBRIDGE DOCTORS- you must obtain a visa and travel to the United States within this period or you will need to undergo a new medical at an additional expense.

You can ask for emergency AP at an Infopass appointment with evidence of your emergency but there are no guarantees. It depends if the IO feels nice that day or hour. The other alternative is leave, stay in your home country, file the spousal visa (if married) and then wait until you get that to come back. If you're not okay with those options, then your only choice is to accept you are stuck inside the US and wait until you get AP.

Hey! I'm from the UK also,  in March I went home using AP. Flew British Airways also  Had absolutely no issues! Took my marriage certificate as my passport is still in my maiden name, passport, my NOA1 for AOS, and the combo card. Was a very smooth process coming back in!

Wrote about my entire experience on my blog if you want full details of the process:

I had my interview on Sept 11th in Manhattan New York. The questions we got asked are simple, eg: when did you meet, have you met his parents, the generic questions on form 485.... the entire process went less than 20 min.
I believe it went well, since then I have been checking online there was no update at all. So I called USCIS customer service, they said it was approved the next day.
Hope all Oct. filers get your interview soon! Cheerssss.

Great news from me today guys.

I had my AOS interview this morning at 6:45am in the Los Angeles (SFV) field office. Background info: Went without my husband as he’s deployed.

Arrived at 6:15 and there were already about 5 people waiting there. By 6:25 they let us in the bldg and after the metal detector we were in this large room and everyone dropped off their notices at a window. About about 6:50 or so I was called to go in. (Side note but I was surprised that the officers are just people in regular office wear. For some reason I imagined them to wear TSA type uniform and to be led into an interrogation room LOL. The interview was done in the officer’s office with his desk/cubicle). When I saw two large folders of the case files we submitted almost a year ago and our ID photo on his desk it made me feel kind of nostalgic lol. The officer also never smiled but he was kind.

I was definitely over prepared and he didn’t even ask to see half of the stuff I brought (like birth certificate etc). I was only asked about 10 or less questions. First was of course “why is your husband not here” so I presented his orders. He then asked to see all IDs i have (EAD, passport, drivers license, military ID) and to see medical. He then asked “how did you meet your husband” and to see proof of us living together, starting with last years tax return. I gave him the tax return, lease and joint bank account statement. “Would you like to submit any proof of relationship”. I showed him about 30-40 photos of our wedding and 3 vacation photos. I was surprised to see he actually went through all wedding photos lol. Then he asked to see our marriage certificate, and asked what I do for a living.

Most of the time he was typing on the computer or writing things down and not speaking a word. He then said “on my side everything looks good. I just have to ask my supervisor to approve bc your husband wasn’t able to attend.” I asked for clarification if that meant that I was approved, but he said it was up to the supervisor and I will be receiving something in the mail in 1-2 weeks. He then took copies of all photos and my IDs once we left his office (I’m assuming to show to his supervisor). When I was leaving he said congratulations and send me on my way. I was out of the bldg by 7:20.

At around 8:30 I already had the notification on my phone that my case had updated and it moved to “new card is being produced”. Yay!!

Good luck to everyone it’s been great having your support and I know your interviews are happening soon too. I wish you all the best!!

Also, if you've got a joint bank account, I'm guessing you will print out statements. The statements should have your in-laws' address on them. Plus you can highlight the transactions showing deposits or transfers to your in-laws for rent/bill payments and point those out to the IO.

    Hi all,

I had my Interview last Friday, but my medical had not yet been received by the embassy. I was expecting my case to be in AP for a couple weeks, so held off on writing anything as I didn't want to tempt fate. I curiously checked my status today and my VISA status says "Issued".

I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who's helped me with my questions, and the overall support from everyone. The uncertainty has been stressful as I didn't have a clear cut case, but with persistence and preparedness, and reading over everyone else's reviews and experiences, I've managed to come out of the other end of this process. I can now start thinking about my future and all of the next steps!

    Interview 10/08/18

We walked outside the embassy and waited 'til around 15 minutes before my appointment time. They ask for your DS-160 at the door and your passport. This is to get into the first building where you go through airport style scanner. Once you get through that part you can exit this little building and walk up to the main building. There were no queues so we could walk straight inside (though we waited a minute as we thought we had to be let in - we didn't). Then there's a lady at the reception that gives you your number (she was a bit rude / grumpy), and tells you to go to the lifts and go to the 1st floor (it's all printed on the sticker she puts on your DS-160, so don't worry if you forget what she says).

Then you go up and walk to your designated place. When your number is called they will greet you nicely, and ask you for all of your docs including the affidavit. He did ask me for Tax returns but I thought I only needed W2's. He said they are less concerned about that with the K1's, and accepted the W2s with the employment letter. You'll also do your fingerprints at this point. It's like a little post office kiosk window type deal. Then you'll sit back down in the same area and wait to be called again by someone else.

My number came up and she asked me to take an oath, scanned my fingers again I believe. Asked me how we met, where we planned to live, and if I'd lived in any other countries. I swear she only asked me those 3 questions. Annnnd then I was so excited when she said approved pending medical that I kind of doubled forward and hit my head off the counter   They are very calm, and nice. The first guy talked to my fiance about football and stuff lol. I wish there were more things to report! The longest part was waiting between the handing over documents, and then the interview part.

I was not asked for any photocopies

    I provided the following:

DS-160 Birth Certificate (this was handed back to me) Passport ARCo 1 US style passport photograph Affidavit of Support with W2's (5 years) and employment letter - as noted above it seems they just expect the affidavit and tax returns, but for K1's what I had was just fine.
For anyone reading that hasn't followed my little journey, I had to go through a lot with regards to mental health and my medical. If anyone has any questions please feel free to message me!

Good luck to the rest of you with up and coming appointments!

That is why it’s important to update your social security card before ROC and before the green card expires.  My husband’s social was issued in 2012 and never has had a problem.

Im pretty sure the issue is more likely to be related to failing to update the social security number than to Mr Trump

Based on what you've said, there's absolutely no reason for you to be worried. Not every IO has the authority to approve cases directly; many have to write up a report of the interview and their recommendation for approval/denial, then pass the file to their supervisor for review and sign-off.
As a reference point for you, here's our timeline from earlier this year (Baltimore office) We were interviewed on August 28th and told that the IO would be recommending us for approval. We were also told that we would hear within 120 days, but our attorney told us that he'd contact USCIS if we hadn't heard from them within a month or so. Our case status didn't change online until 9/9, when it updated to card/document production. The following day it updated again, saying that the welcome notice had been mailed, and my GC was mailed on 9/15.
