How long does the ead take? I submitted mine with our adjustment of status August 3rd she got approved for her two year green card yet nothing from the ead application? How long does it usually take for ead to get approved? Ours is at the national benefits center and they did my wife's biometrics too

If her GC was approved, then they automatically cancelled her EAD application. She has 2 options for work and/or international travel:

  • Schedule an Infopass to get an I-551 stamp on her passport, or

Form_I551_stamp.jpeg

  • Wait until her 2 year GC arrives in the mail

So if she don't have ssn number how do we get one? Go to ss office? In the ead we requested them to create a number for her, so if it's cancelled we gotta go to ss office?

Yes, go to the SSA office with Form SS-5 filled out: https://www.ssa.gov/forms/ss-5.pdf Leave #2 blank, and ask the SSA office to do a record check to verify that a SSN has not been issued yet. For #11 she can select "Don't Know"

May I ask where it says they cancel the ead? I believe you I just want to read about it

It's not only that USCIS doesn't issue EADs to LPRs, but also the (c)(9) "Pending adjustment of status under Section 245 of the Act" EAD category doesn't apply to your wife anymore.

Being a permanent resident authorizes one to work...so the EAD is useless and moot.

You no longer need an EAD. Wait until green card arrives in mail and then apply for social security number at local social security office. Congratulations!  That was fast!
