Unfortunately there is nothing you or USCIS can really do. They won't be able to tell you much either as it's not them who are conducting the background checks but Homeland Security. There's nothing you can do but wait.

This was two years ago... we are looking at complete different processing times now. My K1 fiancée visa took 4.5 months... now it takes double as long. I refrain to post my processing times on the current K1 processing update threads because I feel like that is just spreading unrealistic expectations for the current visa filers. You can't compare your processing times from back then to now.

Not only is that considered tax fraud but it can raise questions during your fiance's (later spouse) immigration journey whether you were already married at the point when your fiancé got the K1. Whether it is at the AOS interview (Greencard) or later citizen interview, they often catch those kind of things.

Why would you think you can put your fiancé who isn't even living with you as a dependent anyways?! You might want to fix that...

Always book the ticket with the name of the valid travel document she needs to use for the travel. e.g. if you fly outside of the US you need to present your passport....hence use the name that is in the passport. If you fly within the US, you only need to present your ID, hence use the name written on the US ID. I feel like it's common sense
When she enters the US with her AP card which as her new married name, be prepared to show the marriage certificate since her passport name differs from her AP card name.

I know people advise you to change the name in your passport. I am personally am not planning on taking a day off work to drive three hours to the consulate to get a new passport even though it's still valid for another 4 years. I'll change it once it expires.

I am still rolling on the floor laughing at this. I thought I was the only one left using that wording. Thanks for making my day,  and your right, now when you travel internationally most airlines send your passport information and e-ticket information ahead of your arrival in the country you are traveling to, so it is important it matches your travel documents.

But you guys got married and are living together now in 2018, correct? The taxes you filed are from the year 2017, when he was living in Mexico and received later his K1 visa. Next year when you file the taxes you can file the taxes with him together.

Lots of airlines give you problems if you booked your ticket in a different name than your passport as the name needs to match your passport number. You were lucky they were apparently fine changing (or verifying it) it when you went to the airport and received your boarding pass. I've had so many friends having issues with this and ended up having to purchase a new ticket (no kidding)!

You would assume that you would get a new interview shortly after the original date as they obviously already had everything set to interview but it almost sounds like something might've came up in your background checks or so?! What did the IO exactly say when he said that USCIS needs to do a regular check that takes more time? Did you ask what kind of regular check that was?

The email that you received is just a generic one. I wouldn't pay much attention to it.

Other than that there's not much you can do except to wait....

I don't want to come off as rude but why don't you just read the replies people gave you on your last post??? There were multiple people telling you that you can apply for AP (advance parole) with your AOS and that it takes around 3-4 months to get that.

I bet! I don't even live two hours away from LA and always wished that for the immigration journey we could've had their processing times instead of San Diego's. I would've not minded having my case processed there and would've gladly driven there for the interview lol
And I know it's tough to wait so long, especially because it seems unfair that the citizenship clock starts ticking not from when you filed for AOS (which I personally think is how it should be) but from when you're Greencard got approved.

But as I said...I wouldn't stress about the new website processing times too much... they are not accurate in my opinion.
