Where did he hear this? This is a new one to me.  How could exiting the US possibly erase his work history?

Ever seen one of these waivers approved? I have not.  You need to meet before filing an I-129f.

If you have not met in person, an I-129 F is not possible.

Spam...or premature.  The official USCIS I-129f page does not give that option:
Petition for Alien Fiancé(e) | USCIS

The I-129f is also NOT included in the official list of online USCIS forms:
Forms Available to File Online | USCIS

Your example was for your I-130.  No one has ever filed an online I-129F.  Maybe the option will come soon.

This topic concerns the I-129f which CANNOT be submitted online.  Please don't confuse the issue.

I was just coming here to say this lol. When you look at the K1 paperwork vs the ROC paperwork, man oh man does the US government just love killing trees. You could likely bludgeon someone with the stack we sent in.

We recently went through the boxes of our whole case history now that we are finished - converting, digitizing, and shredding what we didn't need. The sheer volume of paper was astounding. As annoying as it all is, there's something nice about the physical copy when you get a chance to hold it and look back on it. As someone that researches ancestry and old immigration records which is sometimes not easy, having a physical link to that past is weirdly satisfying when you reach the end of the journey. Yes our government is inefficient and stupid. But it is what it is.

Just wait.  The I-751 can't be done online, either....and it will require a great deal more paper......a GREAT deal more.  I have found it is best to just jump through the hoops rather than letting them frustrate you.  Good luck on your journey.  It will be quite a ride.

If you are confident your current income is sufficient, ignore the message but do have the 2023 tax return available at the interview.

There is no "have to" in that message.  The applicable term used is "may".

What was reported on past tax forms is not important.  CURRENT annual income is king. Becoming an "A student" of the I-864 instructions will help.  Good luck.

"Collections" agencies would cost a lot of money.  The administrative costs of a billing system would be prohibitive, imho.   The IRS is taxpayer funded.  USCIS is fee-funded.

You do not want to have 2 petitions floating around in the system.  Patience is the key throughout the entire immigration journey.

    Thank you so much @Laure&Colin!

I just came back from the USCIS office as a citizen. My appointment was 9:25am so I got there around 9am however I waited until ~11:10am.
The officer asked questions really quickly and I answered very quickly (the common questions from the list of 100) so it took less than 10 minutes. In the end, she told me the last ceremony today will be 11:30am (usually 4:30pm) so she intentionally went through things faster so I could attend the oath ceremony without an extra trip. I really appreciated her kindness and received the naturalization certificate before noon. What a journy!

I wish everyone best of luck.

A major reason for requiring paper versions of some of the required documentation — birth, death, divorce, arrest records, etc — especially at the interview, is to ensure they have the proper security features and have not been altered.  It’s become way too easy to create high quality fake documentation.
