Starting this thread as I submitted my application this morning! 

 

I've been a LPR for 12 years but I was so unexcited about the idea of dealing with the USCIS again that I hadn't filed until now. Then time came to renew my green card and I thought, oh well, I might as well file my N-400 instead. What eventually convinced me is that citizenship applications are apparently processed much faster than I-90s! I'm the anxious kind and traveling around with an expired card and a piece of paper didn't sound great to me. Anyways, the online application was shockingly fast and easy. Now the waiting begins!

 

CR1 Visa

USCIS STAGE: 16 days No expedite request but USC residing abroad
NVC STAGE: 19 days from case # to case complete
EMBASSY STAGE
03/27/12: interview - APPROVED
04/12/12: POE San Diego

ROC
12/19/14: received reminder letter from USCIS to file for ROC
01/15/14: sent I-751 application

05/14/14: received card production notification by e-mail, approval date 05/13

Naturalization

02/01/24: N-400 submitted online; Biometrics reuse notice received immediately online; "case being actively reviewed" after a couple hours

02/09/24: received NOA1 by mail

02/10/24: received biometrics reuse notice by mail

04/08/24: interview scheduled for 05/14. Received "We have taken an action in your case" email.

This is similar to extension letter produced during removal of conditions.

Yeah I realize now that with my 10-year GC expiring in April, I'll still be in this situation for a little while unless I have an extremely fast processing (hey one can dream).

I got my receipt notice and biometrics reuse notice immediately after submitting my application.

I only submitted the required evidence with my application, copy of green card and marriage certificate. I was thinking of adding tax transcripts as additional evidence. Should I do the last 5 years, or all transcripts since my ROC? That would be 10 years of transcripts. Thoughts? (I filed under the 5-year rule)

I filed Feb 1st too. I saw something that said receipt notice had been issued and it is now sitting in case review. I have my receipt number so I guess we are back into the waiting game again.

Cases seem to be moving really quickly here in MN. I thought this was going to be another year of waiting - but now I’m fretting it might happen too quickly and I won’t feel ready!

Haha it can't come too quick for me! I've never been good at the waiting game. I haven't seen many filers from San Francisco with recent timelines so I'm crossing my fingers. I applied under the 5-year rule so it should be pretty straightforward (no evidence of bona fide marriage required, although I'm still happily married).

Got my NOA1 in the mail yesterday and it looks like something is coming today (I have Informed Delivery with USPS). Probably the biometrics reuse notice?

Submitted my forms on Feb 7 and biometric reuse document showed up immediately. Got my NOA physical copy a couple days ago. It's been sitting at "being actively reviewed since submission and estimated time to decision updated to 4 months (from 7 months) a few hours after I submitted.

Where are you located? Mine still says 6 months, I'm in SF. Those time estimates don't seem accurate at all though.
