There IS a waiver process but it’ll take awhile.

I remember when our operators found out about the suit to toss their drive-thru votes.  Night shift guys, oil/chem plants, hit the drive-thru in Pasadena at the courthouse by the hundreds.
 
The whole channel was up in arms.  Calls at high levels were made.  I made a WTH are you people thinking call myself.  It is a guarantee those guys won’t forget.  There was no reason for it either.  You had to drive up, show your license and registration card, and vote with a dang photo ID just like you vote in person anywhere else.
 
Whatever Texas is becoming - doing that to union ship channel operators and employees, thousands of them, trims a big demographic out of the R column.  There was no, none reason for that lawsuit.

I too bring zip tie handcuffs to protests I attend. Seriously, even some of the rightiest of the right on this board have quietly avoided supporting the capital insurrection as a "protest."

He darn near lost Texas. Texas under Trump has never been more blue. (still red of course, but coursing blue) Hence, the rush to suppress Texas voters. There’s a very good chance of Texas going blue in 2020 or 2024.

Impeachment didn’t fail. Impeachment succeeded. He is the only President ever to be impeached twice.
 
Conviction, however, did fail. On a mostly party line vote. Imagine your co-conspirators also being on your jury. (but hey, that’s how the impeachment process works, so ok.)
 
What in your mind would have happened if your “protesters” had gotten their hands on, say, Nancy Pelosi? Or Mike Pence? Would zip-tie handcuff guy have just walked away? Would anything have come of the “hang Mike Pence” chants?

I am currently in Albuquerque -- we went to a wedding last night with about 100 people. Everyone was either vaccinated or wore a mask (and most were fully vaccinated), unless they were kids. This is a state that has had high uptake on the vaccine, and cases are very low, so I felt comfortable for the first time in over a year not wearing a mask in public in a decent sized group. Guys, I cried I was so happy. Also it was a wedding and I always cry at weddings.  There was such a feeling of hope and excitement -- for the bride and groom, but also for us all. We are not at the end of COVID quite obviously, but this felt very much like life again. Relief. It felt like relief, too.
 
Also the wedding was at a winery and we are both hungover.  

Apparently these emails did not make the news.

I always say here time and again that lack of forethought gets people into unnecessary trouble. These are the consequences...

I try to show as much empathy as possible since being on this board and with the entire COVID situation.  However, for some reason, I dont have any empathy at all for the OP.  As far as I understand from the quick read of the thread, the OP's fiance or gf has overstayed for 2 years, which would be the entire length of this pandemic.  Canada has not been closed.  For the longest of time, you could have flown into the country but not crossed overland.  There were ways to get back.  Im mainly in the Philippines section and those couples (especially K1s) are going through pure h$ll.  Many of those couples have not seen their significant other for 16+ months, many others are over the two year mark now.  They have followed the rules, they have put their relationships on the line with the distance, the inability to even see each other with that country basically closed off to most foreigners.  I converted to Buddhism about 25 years ago and that red light to me is called karma.  Hopefully, though, things will eventually work out for the OP.
