From the things you posted, it looks like they would have a better chance of getting a visa than others. But a visa is never guaranteed. I always say that wanted and receiving is one of the harsh realities of life. many people want to visa America (among other things they want in life) but never get a chance to do so. Hopefully your in-laws will.

Let us know how it goes.

They are not worthless, but US employer needs to show that there is no other US citizen that can do your job. There are many chefs in the US, so I doubt an employer would go through the trouble and expenses with the work visa.  You should read about it first https://www.uscis.gov/working-united-states/temporary-workers/h-1b-specialty-occupations-dod-cooperative-research-and-development-project-workers-and-fashion-models

There is also a limited number of work visas per year. And its a temporary visa.

marianath got a reaction from JFH in Tourist Visa before applying for K-1 Visa [merged threads]
The only way to find out if you will be given a Tourist visa would be to apply. But more than likely you will not get it.
For K-1 purposes, 1 meeting is enough within the past 2 years of K-1 application, but I highly suggest to do multiple longer visits you to him (if visa is approved) or him to you (either to your country or another country). This is at least assure that both of you and him would really like to get married. The main purpose of the K-1 visa is to bring to the USA your "Fiance", why fiance because both of you already decided to get married within 90 days of the fiance arriving to the USA and NOT to decide if marriage is right for you within 90 days.
Of course sometimes within 90 days or even shorter while living together couples find the real truth and decides at the end that marriage is not for them then the partner who came on a K-1 visa needs to go home.
Goodluck on your immigration and relationship journey, i do hope that it falls under marriage and love.

marianath reacted to bluesunshine in Sharing on how to expedite EAD based on job offer
Hi all, I got so much information and help from all the forums on VisaJourney and I received my EAD card on Day 58 after I did my concurrent filing of I-485, I-130, I-131 and I-765 in early July 2014. I'd thought it'd be nice to collate all the resources I found and do a step-by-step list on how to expedite an EAD based on a job offer.
Make sure that you have a job offer letter that clearly states your start date. The USCIS will only expedite processing if you can prove that a lack of the renewed EAD will cause financial loss to you. More info can be found here http://www.uscis.gov/forms/expedite-criteria. Call National Customer Service Center (NCSC) at 1-800-375-5283 and put in a request for an expedited EAD under the “Severe financial loss to company or individual” criteria. You will most likely be speaking with a Tier 1 officer who won’t be able to help much. It’s just a crucial step for you to ensure that your expedited request gets in the USCIS system. Note the Service Request case number – this is the number that the congressman’s office will use to look up your expedited request with the USCIS. Find your congressman at http://www.house.gov/htbin/findrep?ZIP=98004&Submit=FIND+YOUR+REP+BY+ZIP Go to the congressman’s website and search for the privacy release form. It will look something like this: http://adamsmith.house.gov/uploadedfiles/privacy_release.pdf . You needs to print out this completed form. Draft up a letter explaining why you need to expedite the processing of his renewed EAD. I’ve attached an edited version of my letter in this thread for your reference. Call the congressman’s office and request to speak to an immigration liaison staff. He/she will ask you to sign the privacy release form and fax the completed form before they will do anything. Fax the completed privacy release form together with the drafted letter and any supporting documents to the congressman’s office The congressman’s office should be able to get back to you within 2 weeks (or less, this is just based on my own experience!) about whether or not your expedited request was approved Please note that this is only based on my experience, and is not representative of everyone's experience nor is it an official representation of the process. Obviously you have to be fairly certain that your EAD WILL not arrive before the start date of you job. If your EAD is scheduled to arrive within the next 2 weeks, then there is no point in expediting it. My job offer letter came on Day 29 after I did my concurrent filing, and there was no way my EAD card would have arrived in time for me to start my job.
I wouldn't have received my EAD so fast if it wasn't for all the information and resources here. I just want to pay it forward and help anyone else who’s in a similar situation as I was. Mods, please delete this thread if you think that it's inappropriate. Thanks!

marianath reacted to Alisha510 in Visit visa...rejected twice. Planning to apply again
Wow this thread got intense there for a bit. I am going to share my experience with you seeing that we both or I must be me and your sis in law have applied from the same county. My mother got critically sick in U.S. And she was on life support admitted in ICU for shy of a month. I applied with my youngest son 10 months old to go visit her, I was leaving 4 of my kids behind with my husband while I was gone. I had all the proofs. Anything you can think of, all sorts of doctors letters, hospital verification stating that my mother is critically ill with no chance of recovery and its best if all her family be next to her at this time as this will be her last time BUT I was denied!!! Yes they just denied me, didn't even look at my/our bank account statements, house/property papers, husbands business documents. Nothing, just said "i am sorry ma'am but we cannot issue you a visa at this time" and this is how I was not able to see her face one last time or attend her funeral (yes she did pass away the next day in the hospital RIP)
Anyhow the moral of the story is that no immediate relation or whatsoever can ever guarantee a U.S. Visitors visa, otherwise why would I be rejected, she was my dying mother and I was a daughter who wanted to see her mom one last time - valid enough in all the ways possible. However it's just pure LUCK, especially from Pakistan. I would encourage your sis in law to apply again and see what will be her luck this time but chances are slim, it's wise not to keep hopes up high especially after multiple refusals.
Good luck to her and your family.
