yeah but i understand that AOS has priority (theses people us included are in a real limbo)... there is a purpose for the extension letter and quite frankly - there is nothing we cant do, that we could do before.
 
its a little annoying but i dont understand why people are panicking about it. just my opinion. and how many ROCs do not get approved..

I know it's hard people... but if you can, it would be beneficial to your mental health to not obsess over this process. From what I've gathered, the ROC process is not only a long wait, but it is a long wait of almost literally nothing. At least with K-1 and AOS there were constant NOA's, appointments, medicals, forms... all these things you needed to do as the time went by. But I believe that's not the case with ROC. After biometrics you either get a RFE, an interview, or an approval and you have to wait months upon months for any of those things to come.

Ever constantly check the clock during the last hour at work and feel like time isn't passing? Stop checking the clock on USCIS. Keep setting aside and gathering paperwork in case of an RFE, but try if you can not to fry your brain over the process. Making yourself stressed and anxious isn't going to make your paperwork go through faster or the time go by quicker. Enjoy having your loved ones by your side and appreciate that unlike the other forms you're able to be with them during this long, uncertain wait. At the very least, in the grand scheme for the privilege of being together for the rest of your lives... another year or two of USCIS is a small price to pay. We'll all get there eventually. I know it's easier said than done, but try to be kind to yourselves!

I was just at the DMV two days ago for the same reason and I currently have a GC (expiring in a couple days) and the extension letter. At first, the clerk was ready to put my info through with just the GC when I was like "um, you need this letter right? The expiry date on that card is too soon." Didn't want him or myself to get in trouble. He was like =/ yeah. I told him I'm sure I saw this I-797 letter being mentioned on the DMV's own site as acceptable. He ran around a bit with my stuff and came back unsure. I was like "I'm 100% positive this is acceptable, it's the only official proof that I'm allowed to be here". He runs around some more and finds someone to help him put it in the system. I think this added maybe 10 minutes tops. If anyone is worried, just save the DMV acceptable ID list to your phone or print it out and be politely insistent

And this applies to green card, passport with stamp, extension letter, etc.
It is not easy or fast to replace any of the docs above.

I was in the middle of some chores when I realised I did in fact use an expletive in my original post. I must've gotten carried away, so I apologise for that. Perhaps I should considering running for President with a platform based on bigotry, racism and misogyny and see if my uh, choice language is more palatable then. 

Is it against the rules to call Donald Trump and his administration out for being racist when they demonstrably are?

@morgan.croft @CG&CD I'm seeing more Georgians here! @CG&CD The biometrics is kinda far this time if you live in ATL, it isn't the same location as before(i went to the other location previously), they moved to 3358B Chamblee Tucker Road. Took us 40mins to drive up there due to jam.

Hmm, this is incorrect. About 50% of the AOS from K-1 cases are scheduled for an interview. It doesn't necessarily mean those cases are weak or have red flags. It depends on how busy your local USCIS office is (and some other reasons).
I got an interview, my case was nothing weak and I had no red flags. In fact my case was pretty simple. The interview was nothing difficult. I noticed that all other K-1 AOS applicants in my area (same local office) have been scheduled for an interview. Just taking a look at the Timeline tab on VJ shows it.
So, having an interview when AOSing from a K-1 is nothing abnormal.

Speaking from a person with experience, if the man is mistreating you with any type of abuse, its only a matter of time that he will treat the child the same way. If that is the case, you need to take yourself and your child to the nearest shelter, and they can get you help to be on your own.

It is one thing to leave a child and another to deny a parent their rights. They are two different matters and independent of each other. Either parent is capable of denying a parent their rights. Please don't act like mothers are the only ones who keep children away from the other parent. In my personal experience, it's the other way around.
The word you're looking for btw is paternal right. Men do not have maternal rights. The other appropriate word is parental.

You need a divorce and family law lawyer. He has rights but so do you. You can leave the home (not leave the country), take your son, and file for divorce. Since you have your green card I also suggest taking anything that you may need for the removal of conditions if that is a factor.

Let the courts decide the custody but don't leave without your son.

While this is true, it is up to the courts to decide custody and the child can remain with the mother should she choose to leave.

Kkk 1 as an advocate for victims of domestic violence over 20years I can tell your advise is so WRONG. Victims of DV should not talk and warn the abuser, they MUST call the cops,and not to wait to see if it will happen again.
Please please next time that you hear/read someone asking advice about DV,advice the person to call the cops immediately, and to leave immediately the abuser without ANY talk or warn,the person should seek some shelter in a safe place .
Advising a victim of DV to talk to the abuser is a wrong advice.Later on the couple may talk after he attends therapy for at least 6months,attend anger management classes,then yes she can talk to him. The victim safety is more important than saving her marriage.
