    Hello from another Brit!

I'd take a chance and go ahead with the appointment solo. If your case is pretty standard, it may not be an issue that your husband can't make it. My reasoning being that your i-751 may have been approved without an interview had you not applied for the N400. At my combi, the IO didn't ask my husband anything at all.

Worse case scenario, you'll pass the N400 and get recalled for a joint i-751 interview with your husband.

It's the luck of the draw. Any which way, I'd prefer the rescheduling of any interview to be in the hands of USCIS rather than mine. That way the action and clock is on them.

    Good luck!

    Hi everyone,
I have 2 questions for all of you who did the oath ceremony and got the passport.
First question- for all of you who got the passport at the passport agency, did they send you the passport or you need to pick it up from the same place?
Second question- I know that they take the original naturalization certificate, so did you get the certificate back together with the passport, if not, how long does it take to get the original certificate back?

We had a combo interview, and received a new permanent green card in about 3 days. At the same time, oath notice was mailed. So -  permanent green card is very possible.

IMO any of those are fine, but I would use the name at the time of the divorce, to match the divorce certificate, which is the one document USCIS requires.
You are not supposed/expected to know further life history of any of the ex-spouses, past the point of divorce with your current spouse.

They did for me. They were more concerned with the form with the questions that had to be filled out and signed the day of the ceremony than they were with the letter. They will have your naturalization certificate with your picture on it so it’s not terribly important to prove to them that you are, in fact, supposed to be there at that date and time.

Also to close the loop here - quick interview today, officer told us at interview that he will approve the case "in a few days". Later in the day online status changed to "new card being produced" and "oath will be scheduled" for I751 and N400 cases respectively.

Incidentally, the officer that conducted our interview was also the one that stamped my spouse's passport (in lieu of a missing extension letter) back in October 2018. I wonder if he got our case because he "touched it" back then, or this is simply a coincidence.

I think on this forum the only answer you can reliably get is "I got mine"

FWIW - I feel that anyone that wants to live anywhere should be able to do so, legally. Immigration is, by and large, not a "zero sum" game. It's good for everyone (but it will, in short to medium term, inevitably, create the usual human tensions and bring out the worst in some). Less artificial controls and more simple, welcoming, immigration laws would be better for all of us. After all, if no one is "illegal", we would not have to be dealing with what we deal now.

Some people prefer to keep finances separate. As a case in point, when my ex-wife was applying for AOS (which has been a few moons ago, but not so long that rules would have changed), we had no joint accounts. We did have a child in common, which might have helped. Still - lack of joint bank accounts is not an obstacle if you have sufficient evidence of bona-fide marriage. (I hope this discussion will not turn into the usual pro and con joint accounts - it's an individual matter, and veracity of one's marriage is not decided based on that)

    Yes.

Since this thread is such a unique situation and I suspect it will be referred to in the future I want to point out a few things for the 'record'.

Clearly English is not the OPs native language. When dealing with immigration matters words matter. One small word can totally change the entire situation. Many of the responses here are based on what the OP wrote- and I suspect somethings got lost in translation so to speak.
Below is the OPs postings along with my interpretation of what she meant to say that would explain how this ended the way it did.

I applied for naturalization in April 2017 finally got my interview two weeks . I got married in August 2017 . I didn’t mentioned that I did because I didn’t have my marriage certificate yet . I take my oath soon how will this affect my husband application when I am ready to file for him .
She applied for naturalization Apr '17 when she was single, so she filled out the n-400 properly- as single. She then says got my interview 2 weeks- which she later clarified meant 2 weeks ago. Then she states she was married (future post says it was overseas) in Aug '17. Her final sentence- which is what caused the thread to go the way it did- seems to read she didnt mention she did (marry) because she didnt have a marriage certificate. Now everyone here assumed she meant she didnt mention she was married AT THE INTERVIEW- I believe she means she didnt mention it on the n-400 she filed as single.

I had my interview two weeks ago and I said I was single . I didn’t file for my husband yet because he has an obligation with work that he can not get out (contract)
She had her interview 2 weeks ago - and then she says 'I said I was single' but again does not specify if she said this in the interview or is referring to her n-400 application filled out as single. She then goes on to explain she hasnt filed any paperwork for her spouse because of whatever. Not relevant.

Just an update for anyone that maybe concern . I had an appointment through infopass and spoke to someone. I was still granted my citizenship because of the fact it was not gained through marriage. I worked paid my taxes and was a good citizen for the last ten years in this country . Therefore I’m sorry to disappoint many of you that responded to this tread that was hoping I got denaturalized . Thanks to everyone that inbox me words of encouragement. I appreciate your help...
I have to assume she explained her concerns to infopass and they were able to understand her and provided correct info. (I know I know). She specifically states they told her that her citizenship was not gained through marriage so its ok that shes married. The only way this makes sense as the answer they gave her is if she had concerns about still being eligible now that she is married. I didnt quote it above but she posted that she got LPR status through her dad and as everyone knows there are various requirements for those kinds of situations- ie married child vs unmarried child. Marital status in those situations can cause your originally accurately filed petition to no longer be valid. So I suspect she had concerns that the same applied to n-400, which it does not.
The OP would have to post back specifically if she actually stated in the n-400 interview that she was not married. I suspect she didnt therefore there was no perjury or misrep and users responses here was based on misunderstanding due to language.

BTW, I am watching 100 cases around ours. Until yesterday about 5 were decided/issued permanent GC. As of Oct. 26th - 13 cases changed status to "case was transferred/new office has jurisdiction". If I were to guess, those are the cases that are selected for the in-person processing/interviews. We'll see if the rest will start being adjudicated in the near future.

Assaulting another person, in particular your spouse, is not a "small mistake". That said, this question is well beyond what this forum can handle. You should consult an immigration attorney.

Also, I would not be posting any specifics of the case in a public forum, if I were you (in particular since you seem to be using your full name as a forum nickname).

No specific form necessary to contact your elected reps. Find your senator and congressman's web sites, and on each web site there will be a link for "constituent services". Under that link they will have a form that needs to be filled for "help with a federal agency" (with USCIS being one of the most prominent choices). Fill petitioner's name and case number, and any other information they may ask about, sign the form and send back according to form instructions (my congressman's office accepted form image over the email, senator wanted snail mail).
Once you do that, also write an email to the constituent services (they will usually have an address listed on the same page). You can explain the situation in any way you'd like (probably worth staying civil ). No need to write anything special. it appears that all elected representatives are well aware of the situation at TSC. They do have a direct contact at TSC and at a very least they will forward your request there.
BTW, congressman's assistant wrote to me that they are also following up with NVC. Not sure what that would do, but I certainly appreciate their effort.
