If not working and traveling are priorities, then a spousal visa is for you. The first step is to get legally married, and since your USC fiancé is living in Italy with you they have a few options. If the USC spouse has an exceptional circumstance such as a job to get back to, that requires immediate needs to repatriate to the U.S. they can look into direct consular processing. What have you done in 8 years of marriage to commingle the marriage? Do you have wills or living wills? Have you filed taxes showing yourself married? Have you created a joint bank account? You can only submit evidence you have, but I would say being married for 8 years is a definite plus even with it being a long distance marriage. You might have more photos or chats considering the length of the marriage, I would focus on the more recent material. Good Luck!
