  1. Yes, it was a big headache for that member. This story is the main reason many here recommend waiting at least a couple of days to submit an I751 or N400 after the early filing window opens up.
  2. Interesting, that wasn't the case in 2018.
  3. I suppose if Hawai'i doesn't work out he can try Alaska, or Guam.
  4. It really depends on your definition of a traditional Republican. If you mean someone that goes to DC and eventually caves to whatever the Democrats want, then definitely McCain and Romney fit that bill. Someone needs to try and reign in the bloated federal bureaucracy, now I am not sure Trump will be able to do it, but he has a better chance than any Democrat or Republican DC establishment type.
  5. Filing the N400 does not extend the validity of your physical GC. I assume you have a 10yr GC, so you should file the I90 to get updated proof of your status. Good Luck!
  6. I agree, the WoM may be the only option to get USCIS moving. As in the attached threads, @igoyougoduke lays it out fairly well, so if you are confident in pulling together the information needed, you can do it yourself. Otherwise, look for a lawyer. Good Luck!
  7. This seems best here. There is something quite wrong with what he says, but I can’t quite put my finger on it.
  8. I tend to agree with you about tariffs, the costs will be passed on to the consumers much the same way corporate taxes are passed on to the consumers. That being said, when there is unfair trade, something needs to be done, and tariffs (wto is a joke) seem to be the main tool.
  9. Here is a similar case, but here the applicant had an interview. Do you have a very common name that could delay background checks (note I am not asking you to actually give me your name)? Good Luck!
  10. The conference rooms at the Bee must be amazing right now. I have been entertained by many videos on X right now. Apparently there will be a lot of abstinence occurring over the next four years.
  11. I don't watch Hacking much, but the few times I did he seemed to be fairly anti-Trump. I wonder if he has said anything since Tuesday.
  12. Yes, the I864 may be scrutinized at the interview, and as @Crazy Cat mentioned, anyone filling out an I864 must be a qualified USC or LPR which requires domicile in the US. I would look to find someone else as well. Good Luck!
  13. Not necessarily. Remember this one? To the OP, make sure you have all the dates correct (double and triple check them) in case the IO asks any questions. Good Luck!
  14. That is not true, but if you file requesting a divorce waiver without the divorce finalized, you will get an RFE for the final divorce decree which will trigger a 90 day response period. Here is a page that explains it pretty good, but if the marriage is over, get the divorce moving and follow the path under Waiver When the Divorce is not Final. Good Luck! https://citizenpath.com/i-751-waiver-after-divorce/
  15. That is correct, and also the airline agent or kiosk scans the passport when checking in. I am not sure which communicates with CBP to generate an exit date, maybe both. To the OP, use your same passport that you used for entering (UK I believe you mentioned), also make sure you purchase the tickets in the name on the UK passport especially if you have different names on both passports. Good Luck!
  16. Not to mentioned the significantly higher cost of the K1/AOS/EAD/AP route! This is a deal breaker for me even if I can afford it.
  17. But the Utah Zoom marriage is a US based marriage with a US based marriage certificate. No need to jump through, in this case Brazilian, hoops to get married. I also went the K1 route back when it and the AOS was pretty fast, and I would definitely recommend a spousal visa now days.
  18. He hasn't, but his political opponents and their MSM allies have certainly raised the issue on a few occasions, one wonders why they call it fake news.
  19. Do you have photos of the front and back of the valid card? I believe that is still required when submitting the N400. Beyond that, get a police report regarding the lost card as you need something to show the IO why you don't have a GC. You could try getting an ADIT stamp, but I think you need to file the I90 to get that. Good Luck!
  20. Yes, the numerically limited visas for family members you and I would consider immediate relatives, but the government rules do not, are an issue. My wife filed for her son back in 2019, so we are a little further along, but yes, it is a long wait. The good thing about the F3 category though is it allows for derivatives, so if you and your spouse have children, your parents do not need to file additional I130's for them. Good Luck!
  21. I think @slim hit the nail on the head. Since most of this political violence is driven by the extreme left/Democrats, they need to wait until Biden is gone. We shall see, but hopefully cooler heads will prevail.
  22. OK, so you have about an 11-13 year wait for a visa to be available according to the latest visa bulletin. Good Luck! https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Bulletins/visabulletin_November2024.pdf
  23. More than likely it is a volunteer opportunity offered to USCIS employees. Maybe the employee that had your case actually wanted to go and help with disaster relief rather than push paper in an office. You make it sound like Trump came into the office and personally selected people to go do something else. We have similar volunteer opportunities in my office, and many take up the call. Of course in the private sector we still have to get our regular jobs done, but that does not appear to be the case for government employees. Aren't a lot of them already being re-deployed to handle all the asylum cases with our open border?
  24. There is a lot of stuff the federal government does that it cannot afford, and yet they still do it.
