I-864 Updates and Expiration
Dashinka replied to may5's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
Personally, I would not worry about trying to re-open anything at NVC, but you can fill out a new I864 with 10/17/2024 revision (the evidence should be the same), and have your spouse take it with them to the interview in case the CO asks for it. My guess though is the consulate will not ask for it. Good Luck! -
There are many factors related to this. Similar to many MENA, sub-Saharan and other countries not very friendly or with governments not very effective countries, the Russian government may not be fully cooperating with the US consulates relative to background information. Add to that the US consulates in Russia only staffed for emergency operations, and therefore IVs (K1's included) need to look for other consulates to handle their visa applications, so that adds more processing time. All-in-all, a real pita.

Apparently California never learns. Do they know that the wildfires that are partly the fault of the CA state bureaucracy and CA elected leaders emitted way more GHGs than years of burning fossil fuels for energy or transportation. Additionally, why are all these boneheaded plans initiated by Scott Weiner? California bill would hold oil and gas companies liable for climate change-fueled damage https://thehill.com/policy/energy-environment/5110908-california-bill-fossil-fuel-companies-liability-climate-change/

Personally, my money is on ATC failures to be able to keep air traffic separated. There may be underlying reasons why ATC was understaffed Wednesday evening, but apparently these training flights happen often, and the pilots take the direction of the controllers as to where they are supposed to be. Now if evidence is uncovered that the helicopter pilot (I really do not blame the pilots of the plane as they were in a landing pattern and had little warning of what might happen and no time to really react) was not following the directions of ATC then I guess I lose my money.

Kind of being ignored by the synchronized MSM. Hmm. Andy Ngo is covering it. Killing of border patrol agent appears linked to ‘Zizian’ radical leftist trans cult The murder of a US Border Patrol agent near the Canadian border appears to be linked to a radical leftist trans militant cult accused of killings across the country. Around a week before the Jan. 20 attack, federal law enforcement had been surveilling German national Felix “Ophelia” Bauckholt and University of Washington student Teresa “Milo” Consuelo Youngblut. Staff at a Lyndonville, Vermont motel alerted authorities about seeing the duo with a firearm and black tactical clothing. https://nypost.com/2025/01/30/us-news/killing-of-border-patrol-agent-appears-linked-to-zizian-radical-leftist-trans-cult/

Sen. Bob Menendez indicted on bribery charges
Dashinka replied to yuna628's topic in Current Events and Hot Social Topics
Could not have happened to a nicer guy. I am curious why he didn't ask Biden for a pardon. -
Very sad to hear, and thoughts and prayers to the families of those affected as there appears to be no survivors. I will be curious in the future as to why a military aircraft was so close to the approach pattern of a major airport, and the NTSB will find that out. It is also reported that there were some young figure skating athletes and their families and coaches on board, some of them from Russia.

Maybe combine the two threads with very different situations. To the OP, if this is in fact real, if you marry your fiance, then any I129F/K1 becomes null and void. If you are actually here in the US on a B2 and your situation has changed, feel free to get married and adjust status while understanding the short-term limitations of that path. Good Luck!

Currently in a B2 visa in US, about to marry my fiance
Dashinka replied to Yayo Guzman's topic in Tourist Visas
I also suspect a troll as they are hitting on two somewhat controversial topics, AOSing on a B2, and having some sort of engagement party before getting a K1. Additionally, the member only joined on Tuesday. -
90 days residency before filling
Dashinka replied to Jingjing520's topic in US Citizenship Case Filing and Progress Reports
Yes, but as already mentioned you may be called for biometrics a few weeks or so after filing, so you may want to wait for that. When my wife filed, she was called for biometrics, then she left to visit her mother and she was fine. You will have a chance to update your international travel at the interview, so do not try to estimate it if you file prior to your trip. Good Luck! -

I751 Denied - Need Help
Dashinka replied to Hussaini's topic in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
It looks like you need to file a new I751 ASAP with the information USCIS asked for in the RFE(s) and in the denial letter. I would dump your current layer as they seem to be a waste of money. Good Luck! -
There are no restrictions to movement or living accommodations for either the petitioner or beneficiary. If you know for 100% certain the near future address of your foreign fiancé, you can put that in your I129F. Otherwise you or she can update her address when she eventually fills out the DS160 for the eventual K1 application at the consulate. Good Luck!

My most recent experience is with my niece and her husband entering on DVs. They received their GCs within 6 weeks of arriving and activating their IVs. They did choose the SSN option, but we had some time and the SSA is relatively close to us, so we visited the SSA office, and they had their SSN/SSC within 4 weeks of arrival. YMMV, and I would not suggest making a special trip to the SSA unless your local office is fairly convenient to you. Good Luck!

In the statement I bolded, there seems to be some petulance of the Leftist NGOs that are all in favor of open borders. They left out the word "illegal" to their statement, but hey, whatever creates hysteria I guess. Yes, this law probably exceeds federal immigration laws and rules, but doesn't California's environmental laws and regulations exceed those of the federal government and yet are allowed to stand due to a waiver by the EPA. Maybe DHS can grant a waiver to Iowa for this.
