Agreed.  It seems the couple has ignored the meaning of the word "or" or interpreted it to mean "and".

Instead of flight itineraries which are evidence of NOTHING, include copies of passport pages with entry and exit stamps, or copies of actual boarding passes, which ARE evidence of travel.  Note my use of "or".

I would put the base only. The other earnings are not guaranteed and are purely speculative. $52k is more than enough anyway for a household of 2.

Just note that the marriage certificate falls under civil documents, not supporting documents for the affidavit of support.  One would think that the marriage certificate you uploaded was the same as the one sent to USCIS with the petition.  If so, one would think it would satisfy NVC and the Consulate.  There ARE exceptions though.  Do you submit the same certificate of marriage to NVC that you submitted to USCIS with the I-130?

You added a "joint sponsor".  Your spouse should take a copies of your AND the Joint Sponsor's most current pay stubs to the interview as evidence of your THEN current income.

You already have good answers from Luckycat but just to be clear, with respect to entering numbers in the tax return question, there are no "optional years".  You enter the number from the returns, no matter what they are.  Sending copies of more than one tax return is where the option is.

For an employed person, the "current income" does NOT come from a tax return.  It comes from a pay stub or employer letter.  One does not qualify now based on 2019 income.  That's the past.  Current income is KING here.

You MUST list the 3 most recent years income amounts on the I-864...2019, 2018, 2017 if the joint sponsor filed a return.   You do not have the option to leave 2017 blank if the joint sponsor filed a return.  If the joint sponsor did not file due to low income, she can simply write "income below reporting threshold" on the form itself.  But you must either list the income on the filed tax return or the reason the joint sponsor was not required to file.

Yes, you can delay that long.  I-130, right?  You'll need to file 2019 taxes to take the next step.  If you delay, then also 2020 tax return will need to be filed.  If you delay until 2022 then 2021 will need to be filed.

Be wary of sites that ultimately want to sell you a service.   People get married in the US all the time.  It's a "destination wedding".

Also note that the 90 day rule inferred to, is for Adjustment of Status, which you wouldn't be here talking since it would be visa fraud to enter the US with the intent to adjust.

Marry when you want and are ready.  File to adjust status once you're married.  Sounds like the delay in your marriage is related to arrangements for family and friends to be present.  It's easy to understand why your timing would change.  Have plenty of relationship evidence.

They ARE square and 5cm X 5cm is also acceptable.  When used in a passport or a visa, they will appear rectangular though.  Something to do with the new passport machines and how they operate.

It is not critical to submit before his authorized stay has expired.  Always a good idea, but not a "make sure" kind of thing.

That is only applicable if the interview is in the UAE and the applicant is living there.  In this case, the Applicant is no longer living in the UAE and will not be interviewing there.  If you are reading from the UAE Embassy website, you are reading the wrong official source.  This interview is in Mumbai, not Abu Dhabi.

pushbrk reacted to Villanelle in Weird situation with 221-g
Im a bit confused about what the issue is here- You said 2 weeks BEFORE the interview they called you asking about the name error and you submitted a request for a correction. You were told it would take a while. You went to the interview and got the 221g for the certified copy. You are now what? Considering sending the incorrect copy? They are not going to accept the incorrect copy. They know its incorrect and they asked you for the correct (and certified) copy. I highly doubt they are going to accept the incorrect certified copy along with a note explaining its in the process of being fixed due to pandemic delays. I understand that maybe the 221g only has wording saying 'certified copy' is needed. Its implied the certified copy be correct even if it didnt specify certified and corrected copy. They definitely do not want incorrect documents certified or not.

You were told there would be a 10 week delay and its been a month and half (or 6 weeks). You should be getting the corrected copy in the next month or so. Just hang in there.

(you could email the Embassy and ask if they would accept your incorrect copy + letter of explanation if you are so inclined however like I said I doubt they are going to say ok. You also want to avoid sending incorrect stuff because they have to process it and reject it- it will put you in a whole loop to circle through. You may end up having the correct certificate in hand but your passport is in transit back to you so now you have an additional delay. There are too many variables that you can not predict and personally I strongly feel you should be patient and wait until you have the correct stuff to respond)

Police certificates from a country where you no longer live never expire, assuming you have not returned to live there or been arrested there (even as a visitor) since you left.

I used a police certificate from Germany that was 12 years old because I had not returned there to live since the certificate was issued. NVC website confirms that certificates from countries where you no longer live never expire.

London is fairly reasonable when they can be.

Back when I did my interview I had a flight booked for the 15th Dec (I know you should never do that) and they gave me an interview date of Dec 9th or 10th which I knew was going to be cutting it very close so I emailed (at that time you had to phone them, get a special code to get your email seen as a priority, don't know if that works now) and they rescheduled interview to 5 days earlier. It was still a tight timeline but I just managed it.

All you can do is ask - with whatever reasonable explanation you have. I think they will accomodate you IF they can BUT we're in the middle of a pandemic - it's very unlikely there is much flexibilty to be had as so many people are waiting for interviews.

Correct, and also note the OP has mentioned two categories of reasons for expedite, not the actual reasons.  Both categories carry the danger of negative impact on approval, depending on the details.
