Just wanted to chime in that timing of the N-400 is important to me. My oldest child will turn 18 in October. If I can somehow finish my naturalization process before her birthday, she gets derivative citizenship. If I can't, she'll have to wait a few more years then re-apply as an LPR with the 5-year rule. So, it's a time and cost issue for us, plus the weirdness of having everyone in her immediate family be a citizen except her. Now, is it somehow life-threatening or crucial? Obviously not. But in our case, it's clearly not a matter of simply "waiting a few more months".

Did my biometrics yesterday, too. The place looked as busy as usual.

The tests (English and Spanish) have just been updated. The links are the same. Just re-load the page to see the new version (it has a 2020 at the bottom of the page vs. the 2009 that was there before). Updated: President, Vice President, Speaker of the House, and Party of the  President. Let me know if I need to change more things.

I am sorry for not having this quiz updated. I will work on it and post a link to an updated version when it is ready. It should have been a quick thing but the server hosting this will not allow me to log in and my account is too old to change the password. Their link is even broken for how to update passwords on accounts that are over 9 years old.  Oh well. So I will have to host it elsewhere. Stay tuned.

Fellow Greater Atlanta resident, here. So encouraging to see how fast this office is moving! Submitted my application online last night, with the 3-year rule based on marriage and with requesting a name change. My ROC had already been approved so hopefully things won't get delayed for me much.

My K2-ROC-daughters had their biometrics today. Easy peasy, we were in and out in just over an hour. Now the loooooooooong wait begins.

We received the text notifications on September 11, and the paper NOA was in the mail a few days later. Finally received the Biometrics letters on Friday! Appointment is on the 14th.

Strange: as I'm filing out the form, and going back to review it, the PDF auto-filed that section for me as Joint Filing. So I guess that answers that!

There are so many valuable insights in this thread. Don't know if it's sticky-worthy but I would hate to see it "die a natural death" from time.

I have no experience at all in this but your letter sounds sincere to me. I wonder of including proof would be valuable: ticket receipts, boarding passes, funeral receipt, that sort of thing.

Yes, they joined me later, and simply because of how things had to be done in our particular circumstances, their whole process is about a year after mine. AOS for them happened that way too, that's why we're only filing for ROC for them now (given the 90-day window for filing) while mine was approved already.

I think that you have a good start. Be sure to include the mentioned required documentation. https://www.uscis.gov/i-751  Be creative....school records? Do they do extracurricular activities?
 
Be sure to include a statement why they did do their ROC concurrently with you.
What are their ages? The reason I ask is that when my wife and I assembled their (wife and stepson) ROC package, we included a lot of documents that were related to his college work (grade reports, diplomas, student loan apps,  etc); driver licenses (same address), ITRs showing MFJ status and stepson as dependent, family car insurance policy with our 3 names  on the policy page
 
Part of me wants to suggest that you include copies of all of the evidence that you presented for your ROC, with an asterisk (and an asterisk denoted comment at the bottom of the list indicating that it was previously used in your ROC.).

We have a K2 daugher and submitted school records, proof that she is a beneficiary on our health and other insurance policies, doctor/dentist bills sent to our address and anything 'official' that came in the mail from her school. 

We applied for her ROC with mine though, and not separately. Did your K2 child join you later, after you entered the US?

Hey everyone, haven't posted in a while but figured I pop in with the news that I received my new GC in the mail on Saturday (the 26th). Took about 15 months for ROC to be processed, and I had no interview. My case status on the USCIS website still only shows Case Received.

High-five to you for overcoming your hurdles and fighting to stay alive. It's not an easy road.
 
I also know someone who had to do a psych evaluation because of self-harming in my home country and it went very smoothly, from what I was told. They just really want to make sure you're ok.

Hopefully this will help those that are having a hard time scheduling an appointment on infopass
 
You probably have seen this message "Currently, there are no available appointments. Please check again tomorrow." every time you try to use infopass to get an appointment.  Like you, it was very frustrating because it seems like there just isn't any appointments no matter what hour of the day you try, and even if you do get lucky, the appointment date seems are weeks away.
 
Here's what I did to get an appointment and hopefully it will help you too. 
 
set up an auto refresh and website change detector on your browser, you can find this add-on/extension to notify you as soon as the webpage changes.  I use chrome and the extensions I added is called SuperAuto Refresh and Visualping. 
go to the infopass page where you see the message "Currently, there are no available appointments. Please check again tomorrow."  and set it to auto refresh.  then set Visualping to monitor to check it every minute.  it will notify you with a pop up when the page appears with appointment dates. 
 
I did this while at work, and while I was doing other stuff on my computer, a message popped up and i was able to get an appointment. 
couple thing i noticed was, it gave me an appointment that was 2 days from now, which I was very surprised.  but I screwed up and hit back and that appointment date and time was gone.  my guess was someone canceled so there was a spot available but because i was too slow someone else took that spot.  so, make sure you stop the auto refresh as soon as the appointment calendar pops up so it doesn't refresh again.
Another thing I noticed was that for 2 days while I try this, the only time it appeared was in the morning between 8am to 10am Pacific time for the Los Angeles USCIS location.  It didn't appear for the rest of the day while I was working and had it running the whole time.
 
I need to get Advanced Parole, but the dates didn't work for me, so I still ended up just showing up at USCIS without an appointment.  They didn't seem too happy that I didn't get an appointment but still took me in.  Your mileage may vary depending on where you are, but hopefully this info will help someone who need to get an infopass appointment.
 
It also seems like it doesn't matter which USCIS location you go to.  At the LA County USCIS, there's 2 lines, one is for those that are within their jurisdiction (they check by zipcode) and another is for others, maybe trying to get an appointment at another location or set two browsers with on autorefresh and try to get whichever appointment is the earlier one..  Good Luck.
 
 
 

So I blocked all popups for the Myuscis website on Chrome and was able to make it work. I got an appointment after a day of running Auto Refresh and Visualping.Awesome!
 

You may also request that they list any benefits you will have through that job, to show what you'll lose out on if the expedite isn't granted. The idea is to show not only financial hardship but financial loss (including benefits) should you miss out on this opportunity.
