Gail83 reacted to Nich-Nick in Depression causes Delays!
Steve, this same info is in the pinned London K1 guide at the top of this forum. Sorry you missed it before your medical, but at least you are back on track now. From the guide--

Look at the medical questionnaire. The Knightsbridge doctor may want a report from your NHS doctor if you answer yes about any of the conditions on the form. Exception: smoking, pregnancy. They are basically seeking more information about the diseases/conditions of a more serious nature like heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, depression, asthma, etc, and not a broken arm or ingrown toenail. They will tell you to send them a medical report before they can complete the exam results. Save yourself some delays and take a report to your exam if you have or had any medical conditions or take medications. They want to know full diagnosis, date, cured or ongoing, if it requires medication, etc. Its a letter/report from the doctor, not photocopies of you records. If you are claiming to have suffered from depression, there are some magic words your doctor needs to writeYou are not a threat to yourself or others.
Not sure if every panel physician in every country expects the same, but for sure Knightsbridge is going to ask for it. So definitely worth mentioning here in the UK forum again. Thanks.

Gail83 reacted to nobbie in AoS has been as advertised
In amongst all the mayhem some people seem to have gone through I have to say I have found the whole process pretty straightforward.
in the K1 process everything happened like it was supposed to. Yes it took a long time, about 10 months from first sending the petition to getting visa in hand but so what. We just got on with our lives and then it happened, like we thought it would. (no RFE's)
Again with AoS/EAD/AP, I filled out the forms and did what they told me to do, with a lot of reading of the guides and forums on here as well. They said EAD/AP would be 60-90 days and guess, what, it was 72 I think.
Then interview waiver letter in Feb and they said it may be 6 months, and it was, GC came today. (No RFE's)
So for all those who read about folks misfortunes, and I accept there are some, I suspect most just happen like they should.
So don't worry, read the guides, browse the forums, ask questions, read the instructions for the forms, do not use an attorney unless you have to and be patient.
Good luck and see you in the ROC forums.

I wasn't arguing with you. I just think it's important that the OP is aware that there is the potential for the government to seek reimbursement as per the I-864.

As far as I can see she has been legal all along.
She entered on VWP and within 90 days applied to change status.
Under O Care she would have been eligible when she filed for her GC.

Lola, not everyone who immigrates here is from a Western civilization though. It is most common in India, and some people keep their traditions.
An arranged marriage is not a forced marriage. The people involved do have the right to say yes or no. They may not love eachother when they get married, but they are committed to living as husband and wife and being a family for the rest of their lives. Usually love comes later.
I read that even some modern Indians are choosing this because they are too tired of the dating scene and they get a lot of family help and support in the marriage.
It's not for me, either, but it's not like buying and selling people.

Sorrry... but There is no rule here that everything has to be kumbaya and rainbows and puppies... Sometimes the best advice comes in the form of a "wake up"... If I see a member fearmongering and getting all worked up over every little detail and in the process freaking out new members going through the process all the while ignoring common sence, posting s from others, past threads or helpful advice, sorry, but a shake and a slap is in order... Sometimes it is the best way to get the message across...

This type of mental illness? Are you aware that Asperger's syndrome is no longer classed as a mental illness as per the new DSM 5.
You say that families of people with this condition are not safe, what do you base this on? Can you provide evidence to support this or is this just your own poorly informed opinion?

You are certainly entitled to your opinion.
In my mind, having seen both sides, healthcare in the UK is, for the most part, vastly superior to that in the US, both in access and outcomes.

I agree Harpa. I don't understand why people think it's funny or strange. Like I've said before there are plenty of other countries that have gained their independence so why is the fact that Scotland is considering that any different?
There will be problems but they will be problems for the Scottish people themselves to sort out.

Of course they can pick. If they gain independence, then they get to make their own choices and do whatever the heck they want. They will also endure to consequences of their actions.
Your politicians decided to join the EU but keep the pound, what difference is there if Scotland does it?

Yes just take the marriage certificate along with her ID in her maiden name and that should be sufficient. I did the same thing and had no problems.

I had to do that prior to moving here in July 2013. I completed the form and enclosed a signed letter from my fiancé stating that when I moved to the US we would be getting married and that he would be providing for me financially as I would have no income of my own. They accepted the letter without any problems. I got a letter back from th confirming that at present I don't need to make any payments and that should my circumstances change then I should inform them.

His K1 expires on March 16th which means he has until then to use it to enter the US. When he enters on March 3rd the K1 will be considered used and no longer valid as it is a single entry visa. From the 3rd you guys will have 90 days to marry. The I-94 is valid for 90 days from the point of entry. Hope this helps clarify things for you. Congratulations in advance for your wedding.
