hikergirl got a reaction from Mike E in Interview scheduled but at a different city..
My daughter applied for citizenship just over a week ahead of me prior to Covid, and had my biometrics done prior to shutdown. I had my interview rescheduled to Montgomery (I live in Columbus) and had my oath ceremony in August 2020. My daughter’s file stayed in ATL (she lives there). It took a couple of months after I had my citizenship for her to even hear anything about an interview. I’m assuming that they are even more backed up now, if they’re scheduling local ATL people for Montgomery.

pretty much told the lady, if I like the cuts, I'm loyal, but if you mess it up, you get twice in a row and I'm out.   Just gonna be honest.

Nope.  Only normal processing and all interviews are done in Montreal.  Also Canauda only has 1 US embassy and it's in Ottawa.  The rest are consulates.

I made Belgian waffles for breakfast and oh my goodness is that involved for the morning - I should have read that recipe through before I started it.

If you change the title/topic, how will I find you when I remember to check in?
    How are all y’all doing?
Things here are going well. Glad that I wasn’t living on HHI when Matthew went through! I was on the Disney Dream though, they took our 4 day Bahamas cruise and made it a 6 day Mayan Riviera cruise instead. Such is the rough life I have been living. Another new job within the company that I’ve been with since I started working down here. This one has more normal hours, so you may hear from me more frequently again. Although I have a new house to work on...

I realize you didn't ask but it seems a shame to waste the time and money spent on the GC, if you can hold on 2.5 more yrs...get your US Citizenship and then move back - you can both eventually be dual Citizens and give yourself options in the future.

It sounds like because you adjusted from a tourist visa (even though many years later), they were concerned she might do the same and overstay and/ or find a boyfriend to marry her, so they wanted to make sure that had not been your plan, as far as the sister knew.

Didn't slow down my process at all. In fact I had my NEXUS interview the week before the visa interview in Montréal. Right after I had my medical exam.

hikergirl reacted to NikLR in Serious question involving greencard and divorce. Please help
The adjustment of status is the beneficiary application and cannot be withdrawn by the initial petitioner. What can be withdrawn is the I-864. Mail a letter, make a phone call, and make an infopass appointment. The sooner the better because you never know how fast an adjustment of status will go.
You cannot force her out of the country.
    You can divorce.
Once you serve her with divorce papers and withdraw the I-864 I highly suggest you do not have contact with your wife without a lawyer present. If she calls, let it go to voice mail. If she texts, do not respond. Do not be in her presence without a friend or two who can be your witnesses. (if the roles were reversed btw, I'd suggest the same thing to her.)

I am sorry that your marriage has not worked out.

Yes she could have your visa canceled prior to PoE
No you do not really have a recourse to sue her, relationships international and domestic go sour all the time.
What you can do is move on. I know it can be difficult but it would be best. Try to get back to normalcy and enjoy life.
    Best of luck.

It's best for him to go to his health clinic to get them. He can also go see any walk in doctor to request immunity tests as well. Getting them done at home is either going to be free or cheaper than at the medical.

Not having it will delay the visa issuance. Getting it will enable visa issuance. The choice seems obvious.

I have to disagree, I'm a military veteran and I'm far from being a hero.
Hero is a word that is used far too often.
I served my country, I was (and still am) willing to die for my country, I've saved lives. I was never a hero, I was a soldier and for me, that is enough to feel pride.
A hero is someone who when given the choice to keep going or hang back and, when they know they are likely to be killed, they choose to go for it. They are heroes.
A British Royal Marine purposefully rolled over on to a grenade to protect the other members of his patrol, hoping that his body armour would absorb most of the blast. Hero.
An armoured vehicle driver who after his vehicle had been hit by an RPG and he was seriously wounded drove his damaged vehicle back in to the firefight to provide cover so the rest of the wounded could be evacuated. Hero.
Any bomb disposal specialist, walking alone towards a bomb that could go off at any time. Super freaking Hero!
Private Joe Nobody who works in supplies. Not a hero.

These are MY personal opinions, it is not an attack on any of you.
    1. That everything is about money. It's vulgar to discuss money 24-7 in my personal opinion.
    2. That there is no universal health-care. I come from the 3rd world where there is none but paid for insurance covers 100%, co-pays are unheard of.
    3. That some people treat immigrants with contempt even if they have jumped through hoops to get here.
    4. That some people who are not disabled go on disability, milking the social security fund more than it needs to be.
    5. That some people are generally interested in doing the the bare minimum, especially in union/govt jobs.
    6. That nearly everyone thinks all army personnel are "heroes" for fighting in unnecessary wars. No, you are not a hero, you are just doing a job.
    7. That sales tax is not included in prices. Why can't you just give a sticker price on everything that includes all taxes? It's not rocket science.
    8. That some people think this is still the "greatest country on earth" when in fact I see a society in decline due to laziness.
    9. That it's perfectly acceptable to "speak your mind" and hide behind archaic Amendments to the Constitutions when in fact you are spouting hate speech.
    10. That you just don't CARE.
