Community SpotlightDV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
Petrisaint Mpaka posted a topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures,
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?-

Confused about steps after marriage
SP1988 posted a topic in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas,
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!-

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
yotajeeper posted a topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration,
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!-

1 RepliesMy parents have a 5-year B1/B2 visa that expires later this year. They are in Pakistan and me and siblings are in the US. They have been visiting every year and were always granted 6-month duration of stay on arrival, per the I-94, they would stay for 4-5 months only.
Now we are planning their visit and would like them to stay for 4 months, but their B1/B2 visa validity ends 3 months after the planned entry date. Will their DoS given on arrival be only until the visa last date, or likely for a 6-month duration again?
The US visa website says visa validity is for US entry and stay could be allowed beyond it, depending on decision of the customs officer. But not sure if we should assume this.
Appreciate any input and prior experiences.

1 RepliesGood day to all,
The interview was held on March 19, 2024, and at the end of the interview, I was given a blue slip 221g without requesting any additional documentation.
After 3 weeks, we sent an email to the embassy, and they replied that the case is undergoing necessary administrative processing.
The date on the CEAC has been changing as follows, but the status remains as 'Ready': March 19th - Ready (Interview)
April 1st - Ready
April 10th - Ready (We received a reply from the embassy to an email we sent hence we assume they reviewed the file on this day)
May 10th - Ready
May 13th - Ready
We are confused why it says 'Ready' all the time as if we have to face an interview.

K-1 visa - Medical Exam and Immunization now while waiting to schedule interview? 12:14 am today

3 RepliesHello guys/gals,
This is for the K1 visa.
I need your input on the timing of getting medical exam/immunization and the interview.
So my fiance went to the post office to pay the $265 fee and now I'm able to schedule the visa interview. BUT, there's no dates available! This is for the Saigon / Ho Chi Minh City location.
Should she go ahead and schedule the medical exam now if possible, even when we don't know when there's an opening for the visa interview? When she recently called, they (the Cho Ray medical center) asked her for the interview appointment date.

1 RepliesHey team. I just wanted to ask a question in regard to the medical exam and the required vaccinations. Do we need proof of every immunisation/ or which ones did they not actually require? I m just trying to get on top of it all early, so I m not stung with a huge medical cost when it comes to it. Cheers!
